Talia looked up at Lanci, asking him with confusion.
A part of the War Gods had already been brainwashed by Rashar, the Third Ancestor Duke’s "Blood Control Heart," and if they had to face several more War Gods, Talia couldn’t predict how difficult that would be.
"Exactly because during the ceremony of blessing, the War Gods can’t move freely, we can ensure that no War God will join the battle in Blood Moon City, giving us about two hours to launch an assault on Blood Moon City,"
Lanci replied.
As the saying goes, fortune favors the bold, and that day was their best chance to act without interference from the War Gods.
On other days, he couldn’t guarantee whether a War God would suddenly return, or if the ones already in the Capital would join the battle.
"Are you worried that if the First War God Hesintos, who is on Duke Rashar’s side, comes to kill us, we will all be wiped out?"
Talia asked him.
"Yes."
Lanci felt that Loren’s power level was already freakishly high, the ceiling of his understanding, but Loren might still not be as strong as Gaiat, the Third War God on the Seat of Entwining Agate.
He found it hard to imagine just how strong the second Military God on the Obsidian Throne, known as a league-breaking existence, might be, let alone someone stronger than the Obsidian Throne, the holder of the Diamond Throne.
"We need to find teammates, just the two of us going to Blood Moon City is akin to suicide."
He and Tata together already broke a sweat when battling the 84th level Perlman.
Not to consider their special attacks against the Demon Race, fighting human powerhouses would be even harder.
Although they also had a special attack against the Blood Clan, it was unstable. They needed to ensure that the "Shining Virtue" could be maintained successfully throughout the fight.
"It seems that we must also ensure you confront Rashar, the Third Ancestor. Aside from you, even if we can find other Eighth-order allies, no one can handle that guy who can influence the spirit."
Talia wrapped her arms around herself and spoke anxiously.
"So we need enough powerful teammates to possibly get through Blood Moon City; if we can’t get through, we’ll just have to take our chances trying to rescue Duke Migaya."
Lanci glanced at the "Ultra Long-Distance Communication Program-7" he had taken out.
He had tried his best to climb up in the Empire, but it still took time to ferment, waiting for a chance to take control.
There might be someone within this organization willing to solve the disaster of the Empire.
Based on the previous owner of the Sacred Communication Magic, Landry’s level, a research staff member or highly-placed figure in the Empire might only be Sixth-order, but they might have formidable combat strength.
Number 1 was even more unfathomable, being able to develop the Pink Holy series of "Ultra Long-Distance Communication Program" indicated at least being the provider of its principles.
"Anyway, let’s get through the Shadow World first."
Talia patted his shoulder, comforting him.
Lanci needed to reach at least Seventh-order and step into the realm of the extraordinary, to experience a qualitative transformation in physical strength and spirit. Only then did he theoretically stand a chance against Rashar.
Otherwise, even if Lanci were immune to Rashar’s Spiritual Magic, Rashar could kill him with conventional magic, taking Talia with him.
"Yeah, in about a week, mid-October, that’s the agreed time. I’ve already asked Nara’s Secretary to apply for Challenger access to the Shadow World for me."
Lanci, as a professor at the Saint Kray Temple, challenging the Shadow World was quite normal, and he could accordingly get a vacation.
As long as the time spent in the Shadow World wasn’t too long, he could make it to the Empire’s plan in November, as Duke Dex had mentioned.
"The Shadow World in a week’s time, will I be able to see Xiu Bao then?"
Talia murmured, her expression turning tender.
Just thinking of Huebelle, her heart filled with palpitations. Not having seen Huebelle for two months, Talia felt empty and wondered if Huebelle was doing well, whether she was getting enough to eat or keeping warm, or if she was unhappy.
"She’s definitely still in your room now, listening to music and feeding the fox, leaning on the armchair and reading the paper."
Lanci sat in his chair, smiling confidently as he gestured.
Staying in Talia’s room, Lanci could already imagine what Huebelle would be like.
Just thinking about Huebelle being assimilated made Lanci chuckle involuntarily.
Talia felt Lanci was a tad insufferable, but she was too lazy to quibble over such trivial things with him.
"What a pity that I’ll have to separate from Huebelle again after one Shadow World. I miss her."
Her eyes lowered, she spoke with regret.
Although she knew her state of being soul-bound with Lanci wasn’t convenient for living with Xiu Bao, she couldn’t help but miss it.
