He turned through a series of bewildering twists and turns, passed several tightly closed doors made of Anti-Magic Steel, and finally came to a stop in front of a silvery-white elevator.

"How strong is your boss, roughly?"

While Lanci waited, he asked the mafia leader Barton beside him.

In Talia’s view, Barton Hall was already a top-tier Empire Person.

Had he remained in the military, he could at least be a major general and pose a significant threat to the Allied Forces.

"It is only in her that I see a glimmer of hope against the Blood Clan, faint though it is, but at least it’s not zero."

Barton replied indifferently.

He placed his palm on the central control panel, the elevator creaked open, he entered with Professor Landry, and without any operation, the elevator began to close and rapidly descend.

Every few meters it descended, a strip of white light would flash on the walls surrounding the elevator, illuminating Barton’s stern face.

"..."

Lanci stood in the elevator, no longer speaking.

To probe further might be impolite.

Barton, usually very approachable, did not reveal his boss’s strength, a testament to his loyalty to her.

But accordingly, Lanci began to make some inferences.

To counterbalance the Blood Clan, one would need at least an Eighth-order core combatant. Without that, there would be no threat to the Blood Clan.

Like Barton, strong as a Seventh-order, there were few in the Empire that could match him; yet, when facing the Blood Clan forces, it was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot.

Thus, this boss whom Barton was willing to serve, most likely possessed Eighth-order abilities.

It was unclear, however, which stage within the vast gaps of the Eighth order Barton’s boss occupied.

The creaking noise of the elevator’s descent filled the space, and the entire area seemed to sink downward, as if plummeting into the deepest core of the earth.

Gradually, all the hustle and bustle from above ground was completely cut off, leaving behind only a deathly silence, and the confined space leading to who knows where.

When the elevator finally halted, what entered his field of vision was a massive gate wrought from Pure White Restriction Magic Steel, emanating a chilling frost.

The gate’s surface was covered with Curses from a Spatial Barrier.

"You actually possess a Spatial Barrier?"

As far as Lanci knew, Blood Moon City was wrapped in a Spatial Barrier, beyond physical reach through conventional means.

The mafia’s underground Spatial Barrier was clearly not on the scale of Blood Moon City, but constructing one was still beyond ordinary means.

"We spent quite a bit of money."

Barton seemed accustomed to all this. He pulled a new moon-shaped Secret Key from his chest and inserted it into a concealed slot by the door.

The mechanical transmission roared deeply, the dense Anti-Magic Steel slowly opened, and blinding white light instantly pervaded the entire space, causing a moment of dizziness.

When his vision finally adjusted to the abrupt brightness, a vast underground palace unfolded before Lanci, cold air assaulting him, and an all-encompassing silence that seemed to freeze even his breath.

Pure white walls and floors reflected light under the icy blue illumination, as if existing in a secluded space severed from the world outside.

The dome shimmered with a silver river, as if one could peer through tens of thousands of meters to see the real starry sky.

"Boss, Professor Landry has been brought here."

Barton bowed slightly and said.

"Good, go now."

From afar, at the center of the palace, a figure spoke.

Her face was adorned with Illusion Technique makeup, like shattered glass refracting views and preventing one from seeing her real face. The more you looked directly at her, the more dizzy you felt.

And down her neck, tattoo-like crimson fractures spread, with lava-like Magic Power veins branching out, scalding her skin.

"..."

Barton was about to say something when a chilly wave of Magic Power quietly permeated the air. The female figure in the distance exuded a bone-chilling murderous aura, as though she were a Demon King from Hell.

The moment she glanced over, Barton, initially ready to speak, fell silent under this oppressive force, not wanting to disturb his boss, who seemed to be in a rather foul mood today.

With a look, he signaled Professor Landry to be cautious, then quickly strode out of the underground palace space. The Anti-Magic Steel door also rumbled shut immediately.

In the underground space.

Sensing the oddity of the newcomer, the woman slowly turned her head, her auburn eyes two pools of abyssal still water, radiating an unsettling chill.

The moment their eyes met, even Cat Boss, hiding in the shadows through the barrier of space, felt his spirit being sucked into those auburn abysses, never to escape.

It felt his consciousness collapsing rapidly, with boundless fear shadowing him, almost engulfing him completely.

Cat Boss struggled against the vertigo of falling into the abyss, biting down on his lip hard, striving to maintain the last bit of clarity.

Meanwhile, Lanci stood opposite the woman, his expression unaffected, his composure unshaken by the terrifying atmosphere.

"Just the two of us now..."

The figure’s lips curled into a smile, a grin that sent shivers down the spine.

Even her Demon Sound carried a mental influence, inducing drowsiness.

"I..."

Lanci had just begun to speak.

The next second, a deep red flame erupted beneath her, like the claws of an ancient Demon God, wildly dancing in midair.

Hand of Hell rushed out with an incredible speed, swallowing Lanci’s figure in the blink of an eye, enveloping him tightly.

"Don’t hit, don’t hit!"

Lanci was enveloped in an unremarkable Wind Barrier, which shielded him with whirlwinds and luminescence, leaving the flames unable to harm him.
