Blue sparks surrounded Uriel, but that wasn’t all, he also covered himself with the shadow cloak skill he acquired thanks to Nika possessing him which gave him a boost to his physical attributes, defense and stealth.

Although stealth was far from what he needed, Uriel needed to land the most powerful attack he could muster, so he took a page from Captain Silvermane’s book and charged at the rougarou making good use of the short sprint he took.

The arrogant cryptid didn’t even attempt to block the attack as its eyes were set on Luna. Her current form was far from alluring to the rougarou, but her scent was irresistible for its wild instincts.

When Uriel’s fist came in contact with his opponent, every bone in his arm was shattered to pieces. From the metacarpophalangeal to the scapula, they shattered under the immense pressure he applied.

Shocked, the rougarou flinched in silent pain as it was left completely out of breath and the alloy wire performed its job as Uriel expected it. As the cryptid fell on his back, the wires wrapped around it, causing a few cuts here and there, but more importantly, limiting its movement.

That was all Uriel needed to finish the usightly creature, but not himself as he knew he didn’t have any weapon that could kill such a creature. Instead, he summoned the Jaguar spirit, it was an entity rank level cryptid and it’s offensive capabilities were incredibly high.

Time after time, the jaguar spirit Uriel acquired on Chichén Itzá had proven its worth, fighting valiantly for him even in the direst situations.

That was precisely the reason why Uriel was completely taken by surprise when the Jaguar spirit refused to fight as soon as it came from the clay figurine. Its hair bristled and it hissed like a house cat, taking short jumps back on its side.

"Could it be that it’s afraid of the rougarou because it’s a wolf?" Uriel muttered, not knowing what to do next. All his preparations would be for naught if the cryptid refused to fight for him, as he knew that not even hunter rank alloy wire was strong enough to hold an entity rank cryptid for long.

Still, Uriel couldn’t really blame the jaguar spirit for refusing to fight since every time he summoned it, the poor creature ended on the brink of dying. He kept repeating himself he would eventually reward the faithful cryptid, but he had always failed to fulfill his promise.

’First, I need to give it a small courage boost.’ He inwardly thought as he scouted the ancient era artifacts on his souvenir shop. Uriel knew about a certain tribe in turkey that used dogs to protect their sheep from wolves, of course wolves were more numerous and powerful but they had a secret weapon.

"Come here," Uriel commanded the cryptid and as soon as it was by his side, he placed a collar on his neck. "This is a Kangal dog collar, it makes it impossible for wolves to bite your neck. Now you’re invincible!" He finished by patting the cryptid’s head. 𝘯𝘰𝑣𝘱𝑢𝘣.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Suddenly, the scaredy cat became a proud jaguar once more and the blue flames that came from his body brimmed with power again. Although the kangal dog collar was pretty frail for a cryptid’s standard since it was made with just letter and iron, it gave the jaguar spirit enough confidence to face the creature.

During this time, the rougarou continued to struggle to untangle itself from Uriel’s trap, it tried to bite the wire but it was so thin it was impossible to cut it like that, it also attempted to free itself by pulling the wire but all it managed to do was to cause itself harm.

Had it been a werewolf instead of a rougarou, it would have been able to easily untangle itself in a matter of seconds by just remaining calm, but the rougarou struggled like the wild beast it was. However, it was precisely his beastly character that allowed it to find an easy solution to its situation

It bit its own extremities off right before the jaguar pounced on it. Such behavior wasn’t unheard of from wolves who fell on traps laid by humans, but Uriel had never seen a cryptid do something like that and he was taken by surprise.

Now the dice had been cast and all Uriel could do was watch the battle between the two beasts unravel. The jaguar spirit latched on to the defenseless rougarou’s back making it seem like it had the upper hand and the fight would be over soon, but that only lasted until the rougarou’s limbs regenerated.

Then, the massive wolfish cryptid grabbed the jaguar by it’s hind leg and pulled it, without caring about the feline’s claws being jabbed deep into its skin. The slashing wounds resulted in a spurt of blood that reached Uriel, but now it was the jaguar spirit who was at a disadvantage.

As strong and magnificent as the jaguar spirit was, it lacked the long limbs and oppossable thumbs the rougarou possessed. The jaguar spirit let out a pitiful wail when the rougarou’s maw closed on its neck and its sharp fangs pierced through the kangal collar like it was made of butter.

But then something strange happened, although iron was nothing to cryptid of that size and power, it had the exact same effect swallowing a fish bone would have on a human.

The rougarou coughed some blood, briefly releasing the feline cryptid who took the chance to bite the rougarous neck and kick it repeatedly with it’s hind legs shredding it’s lower body faster than it could regenerate until it dropped limp on the ground.

"Uhm... I need one of those collars for myself." Luna said as she came outside the hollow trunk of the tree she was hiding on, but not before washing the blood off with the marshy water at her feet. Uriel mindlessly directed his gaze to her naked body and all he managed to say was:

"Where did those came from!?"
