58: Chapter 58 This Is Not the Place for You to Lie Down

58 -58 This Is Not the Place for You to Lie Down

The man’s deep black eyes swept over her body with abandon, “Is this your purpose?”

“What if I said I had other motives?”

Fu Rongyin pinched the bridge of his nose, “Chi Yue, you know I can’t possibly marry you.”

“I know.” Chi Yue sat down beside him, her long legs fully exposed due to the shortness of her towel.

“Mr.

Fu, I believe that even if you don’t divorce, you can retrieve my possessions for me.

Can you help me just this once?”

Fu Rongyin’s gaze drifted to her legs.

To be honest, Chi Yue did have a bit of an addictive effect on him, but not to the extent that he would treat her seriously.

“I help you, and you can’t offer me any benefits, can you?”

Chi Yue: “What kind of benefits do you want?”

“What can you give me?”

“My all.”

Everything seemed so natural, yet at the last moment, Fu Rongyin suddenly backed off.

“It’s getting late, you should go to sleep.”

Chi Yue tugged the towel down, her lips slightly pursed.

Fu Rongyin had been drinking.

She thought that a man’s self-control in this regard would be weaker after drinking, but she was wrong.

Fu Rongyin who had been drinking was even more rational than when he was sober.

Thinking back to the night she had spent with Fu Rongyin after falling into the water last time, Chi Yue decided to take a risk and try again.

When Fu Rongyin came out of the bathroom, his gaze momentarily lingered on the lump on the bed bathed in dim light.

She was very careful to occupy only one third of the bed, lying on the very edge.

Despite this, Fu Rongyin’s expression grew darker. 𝙣𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝙘𝙤𝙢

“Chi Yue, this isn’t where you should be lying.”

The person in bed did not respond.

Fu Rongyin approached the bed with long strides, his eyes narrowed as he called out to her, “If you don’t want me to throw you out, behave yourself.”

Chi Yue’s eyes were closed, her breathing even, as if she was already asleep.

Fu Rongyin watched her for a long time before eventually succumbing and lying down on the other side of the bed.

Almost the moment he turned off the lights, Chi Yue suddenly opened her eyes.

But then she closed them again, reassured.

Nothing happened that night.

However, Chi Yue woke up in Fu Rongyin’s arms.

Fu Rongyin was still asleep, his slumbered features exuding a gentleness that was all too tempting.

Chi Yue hadn’t slept as poorly as she usually did; instead, she had a very solid rest, and her mood improved as well.

Without lingering in his embrace, Chi Yue got up and went to the kitchen to prepare two breakfasts.

Mr.

Fu had just walked out of his room when he caught the aroma, paused, and looked towards the dining area.

Chi Yue had already placed the breakfast on the table.

Seeing him up, she waved him over, “Come and try it.”

Mr.

Fu pursed his lips and walked over.

On the table were two simple servings of egg noodles, not particularly impressive compared to the delicacies he was used to.

Chi Yue handed him a pair of chopsticks, but he didn’t take them.

“I’ll deal with Lin Yibin for you, retrieve your mother’s dowry, and once these two matters are resolved, so are we.”

Chi Yue smiled, “If I had known these two bowls of noodles could have such an effect, I would have cooked them for you sooner.”

“Chi Yue.”

“Deal!”

——

As Chi Yue entered the elevator, the smile on her lips gradually faded.

If this was the price of a casual fling, Fu Rongyin was actually quite generous.

What she couldn’t understand was, why, after she fell into the water, was she perfectly fine only around Fu Rongyin?

Before this, she had clearly had no interaction with Fu Rongyin; was it simply because they had been intimately involved?

Unable to figure it out, Chi Yue decided to stop thinking about it.

Just as the elevator reached the ground floor, Chi Yue stepped out, only to come face to face with an acquaintance.

“Miss Chi?

Do you live here too?”

Chi Yue’s heart skipped a beat, but she steadied herself, “Hello Miss Fu, I came to see a friend.”

Fu Hanyan smiled, “What a coincidence, my brother lives here too.

Next time you come over, you can bring me along.

I’ll introduce you to my brother.”

Chi Yue stiffened.

Fu Hanyan whispered, “My brother’s circle of friends is quite messy, with illegitimate children popping up every now and then.

If you cozy up to my brother, it could bring you a lot of business.”
