76 -76: The Oath of Sovereignty
Fu Rongyin didn’t say anything.
After getting up, Fu Rongyin took Chi Yue out for breakfast and then dropped her off at the studio building.
A colleague caught them red-handed and asked with an ambiguous smile, “Did you get involved with a client?”
Chi Yue said expressionlessly, “Mr.
Fu came to confirm yesterday’s results with me and gave me a lift by the way.”
The colleague’s eyes sparkled with hearts, saying enviously, “I never expected Fifth Young Master Fu to have such a side to him.
I’d also love to have an encounter with him.”
Chi Yue smiled without a word.
Life was quite comfortable.
It was said that after Chi Jianshan hit a wall with Fu Rongyin, he went to see Fu Rongyin again, angering him, and the company that still had a chance of survival ultimately declared bankruptcy.
Chi Jianshan had recently been busy selling his villa to repay debts and had no time to bother her.
Fu Rongyin visited her every now and then, almost moving into her place.
That day, Fu Rongyin picked up Chi Yue from work.
Chi Yue finally couldn’t hold back and said, “You should stop picking me up from work in the future.
It gives a bad impression.”
“What’s the problem with a boyfriend picking up his girlfriend from work?”
Chi Yue added, “Boyfriend and girlfriend who have to hide their relationship.”
Fu Rongyin’s thin lips curved slightly, “I’ll take you somewhere tonight.”
“Where?”
“A fun place.”
Chi Yue hadn’t expected Fu Rongyin to take her gambling again.
At this game, there were a few people she recognized, Chu Shuo included.
Seeing a familiar face, everyone started teasing, “Chu Shuo, your family member is here.”
Chu Shuo, with a cigarette in his mouth, lounged on his chair looking at the cards.
On hearing the remark, he carelessly flung something over, “If you can’t speak properly, just play dumb.”
The other party was clueless.
Fu Rongyin, with an unreadable expression, led Chi Yue to an open seat and had her sit next to him, his hand resting on the back of her chair.
Everyone looked at each other, puzzled.
Fu Rongyin’s move was clearly a declaration of sovereignty.
But wasn’t Chi Yue the one Chu Shuo was pursuing?
Everyone had their doubts, but not one dared to voice them.
Instead, it was Chu Shuo who took the initiative to say to Chi Yue, “Xiao Yueyue, fancy a couple of rounds?
I’d like to see if your luck is still as good.”
Chi Yue was about to refuse when Fu Rongyin already had her in his arms, taking the cards.
Chu Shuo’s eyes were half-lidded, “I’m saying, Fifth Brother, don’t you know public displays of affection hasten death?”
Fu Rongyin didn’t even lift an eyelid, “You can do it too, show off your affection.”
Chu Shuo’s look became more dangerous; he was hell-bent on winning and beat Fu Rongyin three times in a row.
He gloated, “Lucky in love, unlucky in gambling.”
Fu Rongyin, calm and unhurried, handed the cards to Chi Yue, “Why the rush?
The game’s just begun.”
Chi Yue, holding the cards, felt like she was dealing with a hot potato.
After wrestling with her thoughts for a while, she ultimately couldn’t bear the pressure, “I don’t know how to play.”
Fu Rongyin still held her in his embrace, but now he lifted her onto his lap, teaching her hand over hand, “Don’t worry, play with me here.”
Chu Shuo’s smile lingered, but the gloom at the bottom of his eyes couldn’t stay hidden any longer.
Someone couldn’t hold back and blurted out, “Master, take it easy, the rest of us are still single here.”
Fu Rongyin looked up at him, “Have you ever lacked women by your side?”
The man was choked up and said no more.
Chi Yue braved through five rounds, losing only one, taught by Fu Rongyin; she was merely responsible for playing the cards.
This run of luck made her suspect that Fu Rongyin had let them win on purpose earlier.
Chu Shuo lost what he had just won back and finished the game saying, “I’m done playing. n𝚘𝚟𝚙u𝚋.co𝚖
I’m going to the balcony for some air.”
Halfway there, he turned back, “Fifth Brother, come with me.”
Chi Yue hurriedly climbed off Fu Rongyin, “I’m going to the restroom.”
Fu Rongyin looked at her, but said nothing.
Chi Yue was touching up her makeup when two women walked in from outside.
“Did you hear?
Master brought a woman over today.”
