Chapter 40 - 40 He Thinks of a Way Out for Her
Huo Yanting shifted his gaze coldly. "Huo Qinglin has been looking for you. He called you dozens of times."
Lin Banxia quickly took her phone out of her bag and saw the barrage of missed calls.
"If he asks, just tell him that you left last night in my assistant Qi Han's car, went straight to find Gu Qianxi, and he detoxed you. You've been resting in the hospital ever since," Huo Yanting spoke indifferently.
"Will he believe me?" Lin Banxia hadn't expected him to have arranged her escape route so thoroughly.
"He has no evidence, so he won't pursue it further. Also, you must go to my grandmother and lodge a complaint against him for drugging you. My assistant and Gu Qianxi will testify for you. If you fail to act convincingly, you'll bear the consequences yourself." Huo Yanting's icy gaze swept over, sending a shiver through Lin Banxia.
"Consequences? What consequences?" Lin Banxia asked nervously.
"What do you think?" The man's towering figure suddenly loomed closer.
Lin Banxia's breath faltered, instinctively retreating, but the man's strong hand caught her slender waist, pulling her harshly into his arms. She found herself pressed against his solid, muscular chest.
"Keep sleeping. Sleep until I'm satisfied!" His hoarse, dangerous voice dropped like a hammer by her ear.
Lin Banxia's frail form stood rigid, her flushed face burning hotly.
"Mr. Huo, please respect yourself. I'm not as casual as you think. As for what happened last night, I won't pursue it anymore since you saved my life. But moving forward, I won't have any kind of ambiguous relationship with you." Lin Banxia forced herself to stay composed, speaking seriously.
"You don't want to take revenge on Huo Anya?" His voice returned to its cold and distant tone.
Lin Banxia raised her head in shock, meeting his enigmatic gaze. "Of course, I do. I'd tear her apart if I could."
"With your abilities, can you tear her apart?" Huo Yanting mocked her mercilessly.
Lin Banxia lowered her head. It was true. She was powerless now; even protecting herself was a struggle.
Her rebirth had merely gifted her a chance for revenge, but whether she could truly crush her enemy underfoot remained uncertain. She might fall harder, and her death might be even more tragic.
"Stay with me for three months, and I'll avenge you. What do you say?" Huo Yanting's magnetic voice was slow and seductive, steeped in temptation.
Lin Banxia's breathing stalled. She looked up at him in disbelief, studying the man whose deep and restrained gaze defied comprehension.
"Sorry, I'll find another way..."
"Besides my help, you'll accomplish nothing!" He brutally cut her off, his tone cold and unforgiving.
Lin Banxia bit her lower lip, her eyes glistening, though her expression remained defiant.
Sell her body to trade for a brilliant life? She couldn't make that decision.
"There's no need. This time, I was too arrogant. Next time... I'll remember this lesson." Lin Banxia still refused him.

"Mr. Huo, what makes you think I must rely on you? Our previous agreement was mutual exploitation. Nowhere did I agree to throw my body into the deal." Lin Banxia replied firmly.
Huo Yanting's narrow, pitch-black eyes narrowed slightly. This woman wasn't as foolish as he'd thought.
