Chapter 93 - 93: The Unveiled Secret!

Jacob's transformation was unlike anything they

had seen before. His body surged with corrupted Auralis Flux, a volatile, dark

energy laced with sharp pulses of crimson light that cracked through his veins

like lightning. The air around him warped and twisted, distorting from the

sheer pressure of his aura.

Rin narrowed his

eyes and quickly assessed the situation. "We can't activate full Hybrid

Modes—not in this condition," he muttered. "But we can access a hybrid power

surge if we reverse the flux flow."

Blaze gave a firm

nod. "A temporary boost. It won't last long, but it's better than nothing."

All three of them

focused, channeling their core energy inward. Rather than letting their flux

resonate outward into full hybrid transformations, they pulled the flux back

in, reversing the flow through their own systems. It created a powerful

surge—just short of their full ascension forms—but enough to enhance their

abilities beyond standard combat levels. Their eyes glowed with controlled

intensity, and their auras flared with unique hues: Rin's glimmered with

obsidian flame, Blaze's with golden solar embers, and Kyrin's with silver-blue

kinetic sparks.

Jacob watched with

measured curiosity. "It's not their Hybrid Cores," he murmured under his

breath. "They're drawing borrowed strength from their cores instead of

activating full resonance... clever."

He didn't wait to

be attacked. With a sharp flick of his wrist, a dagger extended from his right

glove—a seamless mechanism from what was now revealed to be a fully mechanical

arm. He lunged forward, aiming straight for Kyrin, likely assuming he was the most

vulnerable due to his ranged combat style.

But Jacob's

assumption was his first mistake.

Kyrin deflected

the strike with a dagger-axe, his movement swift and fluid. "You think I only

rely on guns?" he growled, slashing across Jacob's left arm. "I've mastered close

quarters too." With a sharp spin, Kyrin dodged a counterstrike and fired a shot

mid-roll—demonstrating that his close combat skills were just as formidable as

his marksmanship.

Blaze followed up

instantly. He rushed forward like a blazing wind, his movements fluid and

wild—like a phoenix tearing through a storm. Each of his strikes landed with

punishing force, his blazing fists and flame-forged gauntlets smashing into

Jacob's defenses, cracking his corrupted armor.

Then, Jacob

turned—and Rin vanished.

Out of nowhere,

Rin reappeared behind him, slicing across Jacob's back with his phantom scythe.

He disappeared again, warping like a flame dancing in the wind, striking from

unpredictable angles. His voice echoed through the room as he moved, cold and

determined. "You underestimated us. That'll be your downfall."

The trio quickly

regrouped, forming a triangle around Jacob. Each of them drew their signature

weapons—Rin with his scythe, Blaze with his molten war hammer, and Kyrin

wielding his versatile dagger-axe.

Jacob barely had

time to react.

Kyrin and Rin

launched a dual flurry of slashes, attacking from opposite directions, their

blades dancing in a deadly rhythm. Blaze followed with a whirlwind of hammer

strikes, his movements fueled by explosive bursts of Solarflare Ember Flux. The

pressure was overwhelming—Jacob's corrupted flux tried to regenerate his

wounds, but the trio's coordinated assault pushed him past his limits.

Then came the

final strike.

Kyrin and Rin

launched themselves into the air and crossed paths mid-flight, delivering an

X-shaped slash that cracked through Jacob's defenses. At the center of the X,

Kyrin charged his remaining flux into a single bullet and fired—direct hit.

Jacob was thrown

across the chamber, crashing into a steel wall. The force dented the metal, and

he slid to the floor, coughing blood, weakened and defeated.

Rin slowly

approached, scythe lowered. "If you'd used your power and influence to build

Celestia rather than control it... you might've been remembered as a visionary.

But you chose selfishness and dominance. That's what destroyed you."

Jacob looked up,

his face contorted with pain and regret. "If I had... another chance... maybe I'd

do things differently."

Rin paused, his

expression unreadable. "Then this is goodbye, Jacob."

As the trio turned

to leave, Jacob's voice stopped them.

"Wait."

They turned. Jacob

looked at Rin directly, his voice hoarse but steady. "Do you think I'm the

villain? That I always was? Then let me ask you this... What if I told you I'm

not even the rightful heir of Celestial Mirage Co.?"

That froze Rin in

his tracks.

"What did you

say?" he asked, stunned.

Jacob coughed and

leaned against the wall. "This entire empire... I was never supposed to inherit

it. I wasn't even born into it. I was adopted, trained, used. I became a puppet

to Segrito's vision—his successor in title, not in truth. I tried to rise... to gain

power, thinking I could one day change it from the inside. But by the time I

realized what I had become, it was already too late."

Kyrin glanced back

and saw Rin still frozen.

"Rin," he said.

"We've got to move. Blaze and I will save Aureva. You handle this."

Rin nodded slowly.

"Go. I'll catch up."

As Blaze and Kyrin

rushed toward the central holding sector, Rin approached the fallen man and

crouched beside him.

"Then talk. I'm

listening."

Jacob's breath was

ragged. "Company's real heir... he vanished. That's why I was chosen. But I was

never trusted. Every decision I made was watched. Controlled. The Project

Eclipse... that wasn't mine. That was his. I just enforced it."

"Why didn't you

resist?" Rin asked, his voice colder now. "You could've spoken out. Left.

Fought back."

Jacob laughed

bitterly. "And go where? The world doesn't listen to broken heirs or failed

sons. It only listens to power. I thought... if I could hold it long enough, I

could finally take control. But I was just another pawn in the game."

Rin clenched his

fists. "You weren't powerless, Jacob. You made the choice to stand on the wrong

side. You hurt innocent people."

Jacob's voice

dropped. "I know. And I'll never forgive myself. But... there's still something

left."

He reached inside

his damaged arm, pulled out a core drive, and handed it to Rin. "This... it

contains the override codes for Segrito's final program. If you reach the

Control Spire in time, you can shut it down."

Rin took it

cautiously. "Why give this to me?"

"Because if you

don't stop him... Aureva dies. Celestia falls. And I've failed in every possible

way."

Rin stood,

gripping the core. "Then this is where your story ends, Jacob. We'll do what

you never could. We'll fix this."

Jacob closed his

eyes as Rin turned away.

Outside, alarms

blared through the facility. The battle wasn't over. But now, with the truth in

hand, and Jacob's final act of redemption, the odds had just shifted.

The fate of Celestia now rested in their hands. And the

final battle had only just begun.
