Chapter 78: The Revelation of Despair [1]
Axel was in his engravement room as always, stuck on the peak of the 4th circle runecaster, trying day and night to find a way to circumvent the influence of the supreme meditation technique, and the influence of the will left behind by Durein Nightcrown.
But he was having little to no success, and he wasn’t in too much of a hurry in general. But all of a sudden, out of nowhere, an artifact started to make weird noises and glow red. Noticing the abnormality, as he looked towards the artifact, his mind went blank in terror.
His hands and feet stopped moving, his pupils dilated, and his body shuddered, imagining the worst possibility. His heartbeat grew louder and louder, he instantly rejected the truth indicated by the artifact. Yes, this was an artifact bound to Akon. Axel made it just in case, and just in case, mind you.
It would glow and start making noises when the one bound to it dies....
"No no no no no no no no no no no no....... no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no...........that cant be beeeeeee, it can’t it can’t it can’t it can’t it can’t .........."
Rejecting the notion that his brother would be dead, considering the amount of firepower and protection hidden in the special artifact, he created for his little brother. His mind went into hyperdrive, his eyes blazed in crimson fury, ready to obliterate anything in his path and everything that threatens his little brother.
He roared madly, which shook the entire runic tower in its entirety,
"WHO DARES............????"
With a simple command of his mind, he instantly traced back the coordinates of his little brother using the artifact connected to him, but something was blocking his senses after a certain point, which made him unable to see the exact situation.
Meanwhile, the will of the Durein Nightcrown chuckled internally as he thought, ’Sigh, the damn bastards has started their show, I better make use of this opportunity when the time is right.’
Activating his mana, calculating the coordinates, he activated his teleportation in a fraction of a moment, as his figure moved between the dimensions at almost light speed. The moment he reached that place, his mana spread into the entire forest. He could see lightning flashing high in the sky, and the moment his boundless mana covered the entirety of the forest, the sky darkened, as black clouds gathered above.
Hovering in the sky and sensing his surroundings, right below there was a dome-like area covered by some kind of artifact, which his pure senses were unable to pierce.
Rugen, right after killing Akon, was experiencing an incredibly disturbing sensation; his heart kept pounding louder and louder, and his instincts were screaming at him like never before. It was as if the grim reaper was drawing near and near with each second that passed.
"BA–DUMP–BA–DUMP–BA–DUMP"
Just when his terror reached its peak, he looked high in the sky, and in the next moment, the sky itself shattered like glass. Rugen felt his relic being turned off forcefully, and the fear in his heart grew even beyond the normal limit of what should be.
He knew for a fact that the relic could not be forcefully turned off, nor could it be broken apart by anyone below the level of a vice-master. Could it be that the Vice Sage had come since his disciple had died?
Squinting his eyes carefully, he saw a figure in majestic runic clothes, blue hair, and chilling red eyes, but that face, that face, he knew all too well. His eyes widened in disbelief as he recognized the person coming down from above, it was the very man who saved his life.
But his throat went dry, seeing the supreme fury in the eyes of the man whom he had only ever seen show kindness towards him. He wanted to speak, but he couldn’t. The figure landed on the ground, but ignored him completely and walked past him. Rugen turned backwards.
Axel walked past Rugen, his mind was entirely empty at this moment, but in truth, he was filled with dread. Axel cast a highly improvised inspection spell, and the spell indicated that the mashed and unrecognizable corpse was actually his brother’s body. Unable to recognize the truth, he activated the runic eyes, but the truth could not be more obvious.

An unbearable sadness and pain swelled up in his chest, the entire world went still for a moment, the air, the clouds, all the magical beasts in the entire jungle whimpered and cried aloud in low voice, they all ran away in all directions, getting as far as possible from the dangerous entity within the middle of the jungle.
A supreme amount of blood red thick red killing intent spread into the surroundings, Rugen’s body instantly hit the ground, and he kneeled in fear. Axel spoke in a chilling rage that left no room for any discussion,
"You wretch, I saved your life, made you weapons and armors, and you killed my brother with the very tools I created for you?"

Rugen’s eyes widened in disbelief and terror, he said as his voice trembled,
"But...but....how could that be, his teammates killed an innocent woman....... "
Before he could finish the sentence, Axel spoke again menacingly, "Innocent? If my brother wants, he shall kill everyone and everything in the world, and so what?" 𝔫𝖔𝔳𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝔠𝔬𝖒
His rage was so great at this point that Axel did not care anymore. He walked closer to the kneeling Rugen, he clenched his fists in a manner as if he was crushing something in his hands. He put mind, emotion, and flesh sensation amplifying spells on Rugen. Then, using his mana, he crushed Rugen’s every single bone, piece by piece, peeled his skin, inch by inch.
Rugen howled in boundless pain, but Axel only enjoyed those haunting cries; he tortured and butchered the boy slowly in the most gruesome way possible by a human. Finally, when the boy was dead, he compressed the entire flesh of Rugen into a coin.
Axel roared to the heavens in fury, his rage was not quenched. He cried, holding the mangled flesh of his brother.
After an unknown amount of time, an old man with white hair and beard, wearing glasses, appeared in that place, standing behind Axel. He simply stood there motionless. Eventually, the figure spoke sadly, "I’m sorry....for your loss, My disciple."
