The little monkey’s body staggered and nearly fell, but then he suddenly turned around with an angry face and said to Sun Wukong, "Are you looking down on me?" After saying that, the little monkey threw the tattered bag on his back to the ground, then put his hands to his mouth and loudly shouted, "Come out, all of you, someone is bullying me!" As soon as these words were spoken, Sun Wukong felt the earth around him begin to tremble and shake nonstop, almost like an earthquake, to the point where Sun Wukong was barely able to stand still. Watching Sun Wukong’s swaying body, the little monkey burst into laughter.
The earth shook for a while, and the ground behind Sun Wukong suddenly began to collapse, with a crack swiftly spreading toward the distance. "See how you look down on me, just wait, I have to teach you a lesson!" No sooner had the words fallen when a skeleton, only half as tall as Sun Wukong, right up to his waist, jumped out from the collapsed crack and then stood directly beside the little monkey. Sun Wukong looked at the skeleton that reached his waist with a mix of tears and laughter. After such a commotion, he had thought a huge creature would appear, but in the end, it was just this thing. Sun Wukong inwardly sighed, acknowledging the childlike nature of the little monkey.
But the smile had not yet faded from Sun Wukong’s face when his expression changed drastically, and in an instant, he summoned the World Suppressing Stele in front of him while activating his newly acquired Divine Skill, Gravity Control. However, the next moment Sun Wukong was shocked, feeling an incredibly powerful force slam against the World Suppressing Stele before him. Sun Wukong quickly placed both hands behind the Heavenly Stele, but he was still knocked back over a thousand meters before coming to a stop. When he finally stopped his rapid retreat, his hands were trembling slightly. Both the speed and the force of the impact had far exceeded his estimation. Had it not been for the World Suppressing Stele, Sun Wukong would have certainly coughed up blood.
What had attacked Sun Wukong was none other than the small, frail-looking skeleton. The speed and strength that the seemingly weak skeleton had unleashed in an instant astonished Sun Wukong. After taking a deep breath to steady the surging qi and blood within him, Sun Wukong slowly walked back. As he walked, his mind was rapidly pondering; that skeleton gave Sun Wukong a strange feeling, a sense of déjà vu. It wasn’t until Sun Wukong walked back up to the little monkey and once again looked at that small skeleton that he finally remembered.
"Could this actually be a warrior of the Underworld God Army? This, this..." When Sun Wukong saw that the skinny skeleton was wearing a tattered cape with the character for "Underworld" on the front, he finally recognized it. Although it was just a skeleton, the feeling was very similar to the warriors of the Underworld God Army. "What Underworld God Army? He is my capable subordinate, Little Ming. That big thing from before was something I just made, and you broke it before it was finished. I didn’t blame you, yet you still dare to look down on me. Next time, it won’t be so simple!"
After saying this, the little monkey waved his hand, and the skinny skeleton slowly disappeared into the ground. Watching the vanishing skeleton, Sun Wukong noticed that the cape seemed somewhat off compared to the size of the skeleton—it was too large for it. Could it be that the skeleton wasn’t so small when alive and had shrunk after becoming a skeleton? Or could it be that the skeleton could shrink? Or maybe, the cape didn’t belong to this skeleton at all, and it was someone else’s? But no matter what, Sun Wukong completely put aside his underestimation of the little monkey. That little skeleton’s strength was almost at the Intermediate Grade to Peak of Domain Lords, and although Sun Wukong was certain he could defeat it in a fight, who knew if the little monkey had any other skeletons.
This trip went on without words, as the little monkey had lost much of his interest in Sun Wukong. And Sun Wukong did not inquire further but carefully observed the surroundings along the way. However, after walking for two days and nights, Sun Wukong found that there wasn’t much change in the surroundings; it seemed as though they were walking in circles. Yet, Sun Wukong’s Divine Sense did not detect that they had returned to the same place. Unable to bear it any longer, Sun Wukong asked the little monkey, "Are you sure you’re not lost? Aren’t we just going round in circles?"
The little monkey then gave Sun Wukong a disdainful glance and said, "What do you know? This area is called the Burial Ground, it’s all like this. It will take another two days to get out. Aside from bones, there’s nothing much in the Burial Ground. The first special place is in another area. Just follow me, and your ten bottles of better Elixirs!" Not sensing any deceit or perfunctory in the little monkey’s words, Sun Wukong didn’t say much and simply boredly followed the little monkey for another two days. Then, Sun Wukong felt a sudden expanse of openness before him, but immediately he was stunned. Were it not for his certainty that this place was the Fallen Tomb, he might have thought he had returned to the Life and Death Blood Realm. Before his eyes was an ocean vastness, and the sea, it was blood red in color—or rather, it was entirely made of blood. This was the Endless Blood Sea.
"We’ve already left the Burial Ground; this is the Endless Blood Sea. The strange place I’m taking you to is on a small island in the middle of this Blood Sea." Having said that, the little monkey waved his hand, and soon Sun Wukong saw a huge turtle swimming over through the Blood Sea. "Come on, get on. The turtle will take us there!"
"This, isn’t this the Saint Armor Turtle?" (To be continued. If you like this work, we invite you to give your recommendations and Monthly Pass at Starting Point (qidian.com). Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
