Shen Roujia handed the girl a clean handkerchief. “Here, it’s clean.”

Shu Nian frowned, looking warily at Shen Roujia. Her eyes then shifted to something around Shen Roujia’s neck, catching her attention.

Before Shen Roujia could react, Shu Nian suddenly grabbed the string around her neck.

“What are you doing?”

Shu Nian stared at the jade fish bone pendant and tentatively asked, “Are you the Master of the Hidden Pavilion?”

Shen Roujia steadied herself, her composure returning. She gently pushed Shu Nian’s fingers away.

“What if I am? What if I’m not?”

Shu Nian skeptically eyed Shen Roujia. “You don’t have a trace of inner strength. How could it be possible?”

Shen Roujia scoffed, “You must have your eyes on your forehead. Think what you want, but…”

She paused, curling her lips into a slight smile. “You still owe me for saving your life.”

Just as Shu Nian was about to speak, she suddenly started coughing violently.

Shen Roujia grew concerned. “What’s wrong?”

Shu Nian coughed painfully, her whole body trembling as she spat out a large amount of dark red blood.

Shen Roujia looked up at Shu Nian. “You’re poisoned!”

Shu Nian gave a bitter smile, her face turning even paler.

“I don’t have much time left. Since you’re the Master of the Hidden Pavilion, it’s your good fortune.”

As she spoke, she took out a notebook from her bosom. “These are the secrets of the Glamorous Pavilion.”

Shen Roujia blinked at Shu Nian. “What is this for?”

Afraid of getting involved, Shen Roujia hesitated to take it.

Shu Nian sighed. “While I still have time, I’ll be straightforward. People from the Tower of All-Knowing are hunting me, but no one knows that the Glamorous Pavilion was founded by me, Shu Nian.”

“Take this account book to the Glamorous Pavilion and find someone named Tao Hua.”

Shen Roujia looked at Shu Nian, feeling her initial attitude might have been too harsh.

“Wait, where are you hurt? If we have time, I can think of a way to help.”

Shu Nian shook her head. “It’s too late. The poison has reached my heart. Give me your hand.”

Though hesitant, Shen Roujia extended her hand.

As soon as their hands touched, Shen Roujia felt a surge of heat rushing through her.

Sensing something was wrong, Shen Roujia tried to withdraw her hand, but Shu Nian held her wrist tightly.

The heat intensified, burning through Shen Roujia’s arm, nearly numbing it.

Sweat poured from Shu Nian’s brow as she gritted her teeth, using all her strength.

Blood spurted from Shu Nian’s mouth again. Shen Roujia shuddered, feeling her whole body grow feverishly hot.

“What is happening?”

Shu Nian gave a pale smile. “From now on, you are the owner of the Glamorous Pavilion.”

Before Shen Roujia could process Shu Nian’s words, a powerful force overwhelmed her, causing her to faint.

When she awoke, she found herself in familiar surroundings.

Shen Roujia sat up abruptly, startling Xiao Fu.

“Crown Princess, you’re finally awake.”

Hearing Xiao Fu’s tearful tone, Shen Roujia asked in confusion, “Why am I here? Weren’t we at the Shen residence?”

Xiao Fu stammered, “Crown Princess, everything is alright now.”

Shen Roujia’s confusion deepened. “What about that girl?”

Xiao Fu turned pale. “She… she has already passed away.”

Shen Roujia rubbed her aching forehead. “What exactly happened here…”
