Shen Roujia instinctively looked at the two men. They both bowed slowly and said, “The Alliance Leader is waiting for you upstairs. We are not permitted to go up.”
Shen Roujia was taken aback, “How will I find the place?”
The two men said nothing, merely giving Shen Roujia a brief glance before turning around and closing the door behind them.
Feeling a rare sense of nervousness, Shen Roujia carefully walked into the secret garden.
The beauty of the place made her feel as though she had stepped into a mysterious fairy tale world.
She passed through an archway entwined with flowering vines, her steps slow and deliberate as she entered.
She arrived under the corridor and, as she walked further in, her attention was immediately drawn to a staircase. Tentatively, she called out, “Is anyone there?”
Shen Roujia slowly ascended the stairs, feeling as though someone might indeed be waiting for her above.
As she walked, she tried to listen for any sounds from upstairs.
When she reached the second floor, she found a room resembling a pavilion, with silk curtains draped on all sides.
Swallowing nervously, Shen Roujia wondered why everything had to be so mysterious.
Despite her unease, she continued climbing the stairs, remembering that the men had said the Alliance Leader was waiting in the pavilion. She reassured herself that he must be upstairs.
With this thought in mind, Shen Roujia called out softly, “Alliance Leader?”
Her voice echoed faintly, but there was no response.
When she reached the top, she thought she could faintly hear someone breathing quietly.
Shen Roujia tried to peer ahead, but she couldn’t see anything.
