NOVPUB"That damned woman!" Cui Sihao cursed as he watched Luo Huian walk away. He never thought that Luo Huian would refuse to acknowledge his request and even embarrass him like this.
His assistant, who stood behind him, shivered. He knew very well that even though Cui Sihao pretended to be kind and gentle in front of others, the truth was that his temper was flawed. He got angry at the smallest thing and wouldn't calm down no matter what.

The little assistant flinched, but he said nothing and hurried to get the drink that Cui Sihao usually drank.
Once the assistant was gone, Cui Sihao stood where Luo Huian had left him for a while before losing his temper once again. He raised his foot and kicked the trash can that was sitting next to him and let the content fall all over the floor.
"Damn Luo Huian!"
Luo Huian sneezed loudly. She raised her hand and rubbed the tip of her nose with her fingers as she said to Xiao Bai, "It seems like the weather is turning chilly?"
"The human world experiences changes of weather every four or so months," replied Xiao Bai. "It is not a surprise that the weather has turned colder. Soon it will start snowing." She paused and then said, "Of course, if you were in the immortal realm, you wouldn't have to suffer like this."
Ever since Luo Huian decided that she was going to stay in the human world, the two familiars had been trying to make Luo Huian change her mind. However, Luo Huian was no longer as desperate as she was in the past. She didn't even care about the mission and was only doing it because she wanted to put an end to things.
Luo Huian hummed. "Well, it must be a reflection of one's inhabitants? The people of this world always change, but those in the immortal realm are so stoic and stiff that they would rather break than bend."
Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai: "..."
They knew that Luo Huian was going through things, but they never thought that it was this serious. What did she mean by these words? While they did admit that the elders of the immortal realm were slightly—alright, a lot—stiff, what did that have to do with the weather?
"Huian, think about your father—"

Luo Huian returned to the meeting room, where Luo Qingling was sending everyone away, leaving both Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai to fume. They only wanted her to go back to where she belonged; why was Luo Huian resisting so much?
"I will come to see you soon, Huian," Shi Meifeng said to Luo Huian when she saw her coming. Her lips curled in a teasing smile as she ruffled Luo Huian's hair and said to her, "I will bring your favourite cherry mousse cake."
Luo Qingling slapped her hand off Luo Huian and glared at the woman. If not for the fact that there were other guild leaders as well, she would have asked Shi Meifeng to get lost.
How dare this woman act chummy with her sister? Who did she think she was?
Shi Meifeng arched her brow when she noticed Luo Qingling's actions. Though she was smiling, everyone could see that there was a hint of anger in her eyes. Sparks flickered all over the room when the two women looked at one another.
Seeing this, Miss Ni couldn't help but tease Luo Huian, "It must be hard having two elder sisters who want to dote on you all the time."
Luo Huian smiled helplessly. She didn't need these two sisters; if someone wanted them, they were free to take them away. Fortunately, neither of them lost their temper and only glared at one another before taking their leave.
Once Shi Meifeng took her leave, Miss Ni and the rest also walked out of the office, leaving Luo Huian and Luo Qingling to discuss. By the time the two sisters finished discussing, it was already past five, and they returned home in a hurry.
However, when they returned home, they saw Luo Yeqing sitting in the living hall. She was reading a book in her hands and seemed quite peaceful. Seeing her like this, even Luo Huian was shocked, much less Luo Qingling, who never expected to see her mother.

They exchanged a look with one another before turning to look at Luo Yeqing.
"How did the fire start?" Luo Qingling asked. Her lips twitched slightly as she had a feeling that her mother might have done something really, really dangerous and crazy to get a chance of staying here.
The old Luo mansion was equipped with all kinds of devices, so it was impossible for it to just catch fire. Unless someone deliberately turned off the protection devices. Neither of the servants would be daring enough to do such a thing.
Which meant there were only two options. Either it was done by someone who was sent to assassinate her mother, or it was done by her mother herself. Given that her mother had done everything to make Ye Shun forgive her, Luo Qingling was personally leaning on the latter part.
With how desperately her mother had been trying to get close to Daddy Ye, forget about burning the house; she might even set the entire world on fire.
Luo Yeqing shrugged. "No one knows about it. All I know is when I woke up, the entire place was already set on fire." She then showed her burnt arm that was suffering from a third-degree burn and said, "I had a hard time getting away with my life."
This time around even Luo Huian sucked in a deep breath. Why? Because she knew that Luo Yeqing was lying, and yet the wound on her arm was real. What did it mean? It meant that the woman, for the sake of winning the heart of her beloved mer was willing to hurt herself.
Luo Huian had never seen a woman as crazy as Luo Yeqing, but at the same time, she had to admit that Luo Yeqing was a woman of sheer dedication. For the sake of winning the heart of her husband, she was willing to go through so much trouble.
Luo Qingling had the same thought. Inwardly, she was simply speechless by the actions of her mother. She understood that her mother wanted to win Daddy Ye's heart by hook or by crook, but she never thought that she would stoop so low. At this point, she might as well hug Daddy Ye's thighs and refuse to leave unless he agrees.
If she was going to throw away her face, then she might as well do it without holding back! What was the point of doing it partially?
"There is no need for you to make yourself at home," Ye Shun said to Luo Yeqing while looking at her with a hint of resentment in his eyes. "I already told you that you need to look for a house as soon as possible."
