Aila rolled her eyes at Harry’s comment; it didn’t matter if he was seeking a reward, as long as the rogue would work with her. She didn’t know exactly how yet, but at least he was going to stay, and she could try and find out more about his state and the state of the other lycans. She was responsible for them, especially now after putting them into another dungeon.

"How’d you feel about staying in here for tonight?" Aila asked. "It’s not a bedroom, but if you don’t want to run into any crazed vampires, I’d suggest just staying put for tonight." She looked away when he looked at her incredulously. "They.. are in the guest quarters and have been.." Her nose wrinkled at the idea of the dead bodies.

But she couldn’t act all high and mighty because if she couldn’t control herself, she might end up like those crazed vampires. Though she hoped her mind would never cloud so much as to accept the fate of those human slaves.

"I won’t let that happen," Malia growled ferociously in her mind. "Even if you started cursing at me for ruining your mood or high from blood, I’ll keep reminding you of your conscience, guilt-tripping you." Then she added lightly. "Girl.. you know I gotch you."

Aila smiled at that, and she looked down, forgetting Harry was watching her. But he looked like he understood she was in the middle of an inner monologue with her wolf. The rogue shook his head and walked back to the sofas, stopping before them and patting the cushions, testing their thickness.

"I’ve slept in worse abodes," He grinned at her, and she couldn’t help smiling back; his smile was cute with dimples. So adorable. She felt another sense of protectiveness over him, especially when her eyes trailed down to the red finger marks on his neck. "I can’t believe I’m in a castle full of vampires.." He trailed off before carefully sitting down this time while gently rubbing his neck.

"How is your neck? I heard your bones.." Aila trailed off when then the rogue grimaced but waved it off like he wasn’t in pain and he hadn’t gone pale. "Hey, are you hungry? I can order some food here."

"How accommodating," Harry smirked while putting his bare feet on the sofa again. "Will they cook anything?"

"Dude, you’re in a castle full of vampires, speaking to the Alpha Queen, and you can transform into a lycan.. Are you really going to be surprised if I said you can ask for anything?" She asked in jest, crossing her arms and leaning her hip into the side of the couch he was relaxing on.

"When you put it like that.." Harry grinned, again revealing those dimples.

Aila called for Fiona, and Harry ordered a bunch of different foods; she also asked her to bring a blanket of some kind for the rogue to settle down in the drawing-room. Once he was fed and she showed him her bathroom, they’d settled down chatting; she listened to some of his stories and found out more about the life he led as a rogue.

It fascinated her; she’d only been a werewolf for a few months, trying to learn everything, became Queen and then officially turned into a hybrid. All she’d known about rogues were what the books taught her and the rogues she’d come across.

The only other story she knew of a type 2 rogue was Esme’s, and her story was brutally sad. But after learning a bit more about each other gaining a small sense of comradery between them, Aila let Harry get some rest. It was past midnight now, and she was still not tired; one of the perks, if she could call it, that was she needed less sleep than before.

Over the last month, Aila realised that she only needed four to five hours of sleep each night, sometimes even less. Yet, she woke up with flawless skin, no bags under her eyes or acting moody.

Aila closed the door quietly behind her after turning the lights off. Even though they had quite a pleasant evening together, considering their circumstances and the way it started, Aila still couldn’t quite shake off being too comfortable with Harry. Hopefully, saving his life helped gain a little bit of loyalty, not that she saved him merely on what she would gain from it.

She walked down the dimly lit corridors and stopped, gasping at Cassius’ sudden appearance. Her hand was on her chest, her heart in her throat.

It had been so quiet, and Aila was lost in thought that she was surprised so much by the vampire appearing before her. He had changed and even smelled like he had a recent shower. "Well done, Aila," He said quietly, sliding an arm over her shoulders.

She looked up at him with a frown, and he smiled, leading her back towards the guest quarters. "Now, Harry will stay on his own accord," He said nonchalantly though she could see the flicker of arrogance behind those crystal blue eyes of his.

Aila gaped at him, pausing mid-step and causing him to stop and look at her curiously. "You did that on purpose.." Aila whisper-shouted in disbelief, her eyes searching his sly ones. "What if you killed him!?"

Cassius smirked and shrugged. "Then he’d die. But I knew you would act that way, and it worked out perfectly fine. The dramatic scene must have left quite the impression on him. What do you think?" 𝑛𝘰𝑣𝘱𝑢𝑏.𝘤𝑜𝘮

What did she think? He nearly crushed his bones and killed him. Aila sighed in frustration; she needed to keep her emotions at bay. Somehow, so far, she’d been passing whatever tests he’d been throwing her way, they were always so cruel, but she felt him warming up to her even more.

Through the bond, she could tell he felt comfortable enough to tell her more, but she didn’t want to push just yet after all those other vampires were here, and they’d already had quite the dramatic day.

In fact, she was rather famished from it all.

"You certainly left an impression on him. It was.. smart. But Cass, I do intend to let him free in a week." Aila looked up at him and watched as his eyes grew cold, yet his lips twitched into a small smile. That didn’t make her feel comforted; his eyes revealed how displeased he was by her comment.
