Chapter 128: Chapter 126 Are You Crazy! (4k)_2
A hint of a smile appeared on his face, and Marion said to Old Jack,
“Boss, I’ll take this dagger. How much is it?”
Actually, Old Jack did not want to take any money. It was better if this harbinger of doom hurried off, but seeing Marion’s serious expression, he could only reply,
“One hundred gold coins.”
Clang—
Marion took out a small pouch and tossed it onto the table in front of Old Jack.
...
Old Jack opened it and saw that they were indeed gold coins, but not from the Feis Kingdom. Instead, they were coined in the Southern Laidon Kingdom.
Not minding this detail and without bothering to count, Old Jack nodded and said,
“No problem, the dagger is yours now.”
Upon hearing this, Marion smiled, wiped the dagger with his left hand, and a drop of blood, looking like a ruby, fell onto the blade.
The greedy dagger devoured the drop of blood completely, and it seemed to come alive all of a sudden, its filth fading away to reveal the bloody-red blade beneath.
Just by watching, Old Jack felt as if he was facing a sea of crimson blood and a cutting chill,
“Ah, it’s that one—the Bloodthirsty Dagger of Vlad.”
Marion looked delightedly at the dagger in his hand, a quite famous weapon among the Blood Clan.
Of course, what was famous was not the dagger itself, but its creator,
Legendary Bloodline, Cruel Prince, Vlad Targula.
This was a being from the Blood Clan who had once ascended toward becoming a deity but, sadly, had not succeeded in igniting the Divine Fire.
There were rumors that he was sleeping in the Ancestor Cain’s Divine Country, waiting for another chance.
Although Old Jack did not recognize what the dagger was, from its aura, he understood that it was at least a weapon of Gold Advanced rank.
Without any regrets, Old Jack believed in the principle of “what you gain through your own acumen is yours, and you shouldn’t complain if you lose out.”
“Congratulations, sir, this is indeed a remarkable weapon.”
Old Jack congratulated implicitly hinting that it was time for Marion to take his leave.
“Hehe.”
Marion put away the dagger and said to Old Jack with a smile,
“Now that I’ve paid, let’s settle the score for the theft of my clan’s treasure.”
“What?”
Old Jack almost thought he had misheard.
What is this logic?
It looks like the dagger might indeed be related to you, but didn’t you just pay for it?
The item is in your hands now, and you still want to settle accounts?
“Sir, I acquired this dagger from someone else. I was unaware it was a treasure of your family.”
“I’m truly sorry, I’m willing to offer compensation for any inconvenience caused.”
Feeling the growing oppressive aura from Marion, Old Jack hurriedly explained.
“Hehe, no need.”
Marion said with a smile, actually quite pleased as the Bloodthirsty Dagger of Vlad, although famous among the Blood Clan, had been lost for a long while. Finding it here was an unexpected joy.
This would make a splendid gift for the Divine Son, far more valuable than the heart of the Golden-level Vampire he procured last time.
“One thing at a time, I paid you for it, so this dagger now belongs to me.”
“As to why the dagger was in your possession, I don’t care, I’m only concerned about the outcome.”
Marion patiently explained to Old Jack, still with a slight smile on his face.
“This—”
Old Jack’s brain was nearly in chaos, not understanding at all.
“Don’t worry, after all, Lord Burns told me not to cause trouble, so I’ll be gentle.”
Marion said with a laugh as the scent of blood around him grew richer.
Old Jack was now convinced that this seemingly courteous man was actually a lunatic.
To put it mildly, this was a madman from the chaotic side!
There’s no point in reasoning; they only believe in their own logic!
No other way.
Old Jack realized there could be no peaceful end, and he didn’t know where he produced two sharp daggers, tightly clenched in his hands, cautiously watching Marion who stood there motionlessly.
Once Old Jack was ready, Marion smiled, waved his hand, and his figure flashed as he charged towards Old Jack.
…
Ashley obediently stayed at home, carefully observing the situation across the way, feeling somewhat worried for Old Jack.
“Uncle Jack won’t be in any danger, right?”
Ashley clenched her hands together but obediently stayed inside, knowing she was much weaker compared to Uncle Jack.
She had seen several burly individuals come to trouble Old Jack before, but they were quickly sent limping away by Old Jack.
The first time she encountered such a situation, Ashley didn’t know what to do, and could only silently pray for Old Jack, hoping that her Uncle Jack wouldn’t run into trouble.
Bang!
Suddenly, Ashley saw the roof of Old Jack’s shop burst open, and two figures violently burst out from it.
With her hands tightly covering her mouth, Ashley managed not to scream out loud.
With her eyesight, she could only make out two blurry figures entangled atop the roof.
One was wrapped in a thick blood-red hue, while the other was a dark gray.
Although she couldn’t see the figures clearly, Ashley could guess that the gray figure was her Uncle Jack.
What made her heart wrench was that the gray figure seemed to be completely suppressed by the blood-red one, barely managing to hold on.
Uncle Jack, hang in there!
…
Lower City Guard Station.
Guard Captain Todd was blissfully enjoying his lunch.
After reporting the presence of a Gold-level Vampire in the Lower City District, Todd felt much more at ease.
I’ve reported it; you deal with it!
After all, it’s a Gold-level Vampire; he’s surely no match.
Whatever punishment comes, it doesn’t matter. It’s up to the higher-ups to figure it out.
Hopefully, within the time the higher-ups make their decision, no similar problems will arise!
Relaxed, Todd felt that today’s weather had become much brighter.
“This is the life!”
Todd downed the milk in his bowl, speaking boldly.
“Lord Todd!”
The door to the room was suddenly pushed open, and an urgent voice sounded in Todd’s ear.
Todd’s face suddenly fell, and he stared at the messenger who had burst in, with a deadly look, gritting his teeth and said:
“What is it?”
The messenger, lacking tact, hurriedly said:
“Captain Todd, the Detection Array has detected fluctuations similar to a powerful combat on Langai Street, similar to the last two times.”
“Fine, fine, fine!”
Damn this weather!
Todd cursed harshly in his mind, then turned left and rushed out.
“Captain, it’s this way!”
The messenger pointed to the right, shouting to Todd.
“I suddenly need to use the restroom; you go ahead, I’ll be there shortly.”
Todd’s voice came through, and in the blink of an eye, his figure had disappeared.
…
Oriel, who was patrolling the Lower City District with his team, frowned, sensing something.
He leapt onto the rooftops beside the street and looked around.
Oriel noticed a faint blood light flickering in the distance, especially conspicuous under the sunlight.
With no regard for leading the others, Oriel instructed them to follow on their own, while he continuously jumped across rooftops, quickly heading toward Langai Street.
That agile figure seemed to not be hindered by the paladin armor he wore.
…
Langai Street, rooftop of Old Jack’s small shop.
After several exchanges, the gray figure seemed to have taken a heavy blow, crashing down to the ground in front of Ashley’s house, raising a cloud of dust.
Old Jack struggled to get up, blood incessantly dripping from his mouth and body, his trembling hands barely able to grasp the dagger.
The gap was too great!
Once the fight began, Old Jack knew he was no match for the person before him.
A Gold High Order Vampire!
He was merely a Gold Early Stage assassin, and with his age and declining strength, there was no way he could fight.
Marion lifted one foot onto the eaves, surveyed Old Jack’s state, and said with satisfaction:
“Well, that should be enough, after all, can’t violate the precepts and kill people randomly.”
Seeming to feel that Old Jack had been duly punished, Marion’s figure flashed, turning into blood mist, and left the scene.
Old Jack’s vision darkened, nearly passing out.
Just… just to beat me up?
You’re seriously crazy!
