Chapter 24 - 24. Another One
Max was entering the auction hall, holding two cups of ice cold strawberry milkshake, he picked it up on the way, One he was actively directly from the big straw while the other was for someone else.
Erza too was holding two cuts of chocolate milkshakes, doing the same as him, drinking from the cup on her right hand while left hand was holding onto the other cup.
As for her office files and necessary documents? Max forces her to leave them in the car, and like always dragging her to the place she did not want to be, and insisting her to eat and drink things loaded with carbs and sugar.
She long since stopped protesting it, As she knows it is useless, Hence she just eats it, putting extra time in gym to burn out all those extra calories.
Today was no different either, the only thing that was different was he did not go around putting focus of people on her, which is both strange and relieving as she hates being the centre of attention.
Though it is contradictory due to her profession being personal secretary of his but it's her job, She had to be and plus she loves her job, so it is not that bad.
It's just she did not like her boss that much.
"It's quite lively here."
Just as Max was about to look for the person he called, he saw the scene unfolding in front of him with astonishment.
Layla was on the verge of beating some poor guy, Ashley was trying her futile attempts to stop her, It was a regular occurrence, not that important to pay attention.
However when his eyes landed on the boy kneeling on the floor, bleeding from the corner of his mouth, looking quite pitiful but with the intense hatred in his eyes, Max's heart skipped a beat.
As it was obvious that the boy is the protagonist, Just look at the surroundings, people are looking at him from afar, giving him mocking looks for some reason.
He was quite helpless, being bullied by the stronger force and now that he, a villain is here to mock him, putting even more pressure on the poor fella.
It is all old routine, now at any moment now some bigshot would jump out rescuing the boy and also slap their villains face.
'Strange, It is the middle of the plot, Shouldn't this guy already have a strong background and strength? So why is he being bullied like this?'
But Max stopped in his tracks, the routine he said is early plot one. It is obvious the plot is going one for a while now, so why is the most prideful species like the protagonist bearing such humiliation?
Wait, NO!? The more concerning part is why there is another protagonist.
'Hey system come out and explain what is happening? Why is there another protagonist popping up?'
Max quickly called out to only one who can answer him, his "trusty" system as it can answer him.

But Max nearly had a heart attack hearing it, He was already put into Hell difficulty, having to deal with a protagonist like Rickie in mid-plot.
And now there is more of such a nearly mature protagonist he has to deal with? Aren't is it too biased? How can he survive such a fixed match?
It is too unfair, Life is too unfair, he did not want to play anymore.

The system did not pay attention to him and just added another point.

Max thought took an 180° turn as he mimicked the protagonist's hypothetical behavior as he self-righteously took the Hercules task of dealing with protagonists.
Well it was everything for the rewards system mentioned, He is a villain not the protagonist needing to pretend.
"Max you are here, Come give sister a hug."
Max was busy talking to himself when Layla spotted him and suddenly forgotten about everything else.
She ignored the butler of Kingswell family as she liked a bolt of lighting dashed towards Max with open arms.
*Dodge*
Max swiftly dodged her making her hug empty air with confused looks, Then almost on cue her eyes became watery, as her cute small face twisted as she was on the verge of crying out.
He however did not show any sign of pity to such a cute being and trotted towards Ashley, who looked at him in a complicated gaze.
"Sister, did you take my invitation letter? If so, give it back, please."
Max stood in front of Ashley as he reached his hands forward speaking with a soft tone and asked her to give back the invitation letter she took.
Though was standing in front of her but his eyes were sneakily looking at the boy kneeling on the ground trying to figure out what type of protagonist he might be.
Due to his split attention he did not see how his smallest action had a huge reaction on Ashley.
'Why did he not hug me? He always hugs me first and foremost, so why didn't he do it today? Is he angry at me? But he was wrong, he needed to be punished a little.....Did I do too much?....Yeah his company is already struggling, he should be under a lot of pressure, I shouldn't have cut him off financially but I just blocked some cards. If he needed money he should have called, I would have given it to him, he knows that right?....Or did he feel abandoned? That's why he acting like this? Not calling and ignoring my calls? But he knows I would always love him as my brother, I am just trying to show him tough love, But but....'
Ashley's thoughts were running wild as she in such a few seconds overloaded her brain trying to figure out why her brother was acting like this.
In all of this she completely forgot about Jake, also her brother who is kneeling on the ground bleeding, injured needing medical attention.
"Hello sister, are you listening? I asked for my invitation."
Max once again asked her in same tone, in which he did not see anything wrong.
"Bwhaaal, Brother!!"
She suddenly cried out.
