"So you're the fleshbag that we're meant to kill, huh?" The aggressive Soul King mocked, already knowing the answer. "Very well. You appear to be adequately capable, so why don't we have a one-on-one duel to decide the better—"

SPLAT!

"!?!?" "!?!?" "!?!?"

"Anything else?" asked Cassius, his eyes glowing a deathly blue. "If not, then we can skip the foreplay."

"YOU!!!"

The other Soul Kings and Soul Eaters erupted in rage over the pure disrespect of this human!

To kill one of their own right in front of them—did he believe himself to be invincible!?

What an utterly arrogant and foolish human!

But this was around when they noticed something unusual, for Soul King Mezyr's Soul Source didn't make any movements in an attempt to travel to the Soul Sea. In fact—

It was never there to begin with.

"T-This… What the hell does this mean!??"

*Fwooop!*

"It means that you guys are quite tasty," Cassius said coldly, with his hand clasped onto a Soul King's face. "Now do be good meals and kindly disappear."

"Wha—"

SPLAT!

Just like the first one, this Soul King was turned into a bloody firework. And same as before, the other Soul Eaters were shocked to realize that his Soul Source had vanished.

"Y-You crazy bastard!!!" a more powerful Soul King shouted, the pressure he emitted far greater than the previous Soul Kings. "Everyone, group up! Let's attack this crazy fucker together!!"

HAAAA!

Cassius's smirk widened in response to the rallying of the Soul Eaters.

"It's better this way. Faster and more efficient."

His Godforce Value was already on the rise, and he couldn't wait to see how much more it would skyrocket.

For the next unknown period of time, Cassius battled the Soul Eater Army. And yet, even after days of non-stop fighting and an eventual victory, more waves of Soul Eaters were sent in.

The first wave was composed of the weakest of Soul Kings, with only a few tens of thousands of Soul Eaters. The next wave, however, had Mid-Rank Soul Kings as well as hundreds of thousands more Soul Eaters in and below the Soul Lord Rank. 𝑛𝘰𝑣𝘱𝑢𝑏.𝘤𝑜𝘮

The fighting continued. Thundering explosions reverberated throughout the boundless skies over the Forgotten Shores, scaring Mortals and Nightmare Slayers alike.

Not even the hidden Transcendent Class Slayers had ever witnessed anything at this level before.

It was absolute craziness…

"Do we still have no idea who the fuck is up there battling the endless waves of Soul Eaters!? Is it a secret force, a single person, what is it!??"

The widely recognized 'Strongest Slayer' in the Azure Archipelago slammed his fists against a table, causing it and the floating landmass they were on to crack.

"S-Sir Kingslayer, please ease your anger," said a 1st Class Slayer with a long neck beard. "Although we aren't keen on the identity of this mysterious person, we are positive that it's only a single being fending off countless Soul Eaters. His strength is unimaginable, and it's highly likely that he came from THAT place."

"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"

Those who were convened here were at least in the 6th Stage of the 1st Class Slayer Realm. They were the very best of the best that the Azure Archipelago had to offer, and as such, they were privy to certain pieces of information that would never be disclosed to the common populace.

The existence of a massive landmass known to them only as the 'Motherland' was one of such pieces of information.

BOOOM! BOOOM!!

"The explosions are getting worse." A man with a wizened appearance made some calculations, predicting that if this neverending war of attrition didn't conclude within the next few years, they were doomed. "It has already been over 5 years since the 'Unseen War' began, and yet we're still so in the dark on what's actually happening…"

The battle between Cassius and the Soul Eaters was dubbed the Unseen War because not a single one of them even knew what they were looking at when trying to follow the string of thunderous explosions. They were unpredictable, ridiculously fast, and beyond the scope of human understanding.

"Even though the Motherland has never contacted us before, if they've really sent a Paragon Expert here to thwart the invasion of the Soul Eaters, then we should be fine," the Kingslayer began with a mildly relieved tone. "However, if this unknown powerhouse turns out to be an unrelated force that just so happened to get himself embroiled with the Soul Eaters, we could very well end up in an even bigger strut than we were in to begin with."

The meeting place of the most powerful Nightmare Slayers in the Common World went deafeningly silent.

For now, they could only hope and pray that whatever was fighting the Soul Eaters was on their side…

— At a location an untold number of miles away, within a massive bowl-shaped basin made up of thousands of Levels and billions of workers and citizens —

"Hmm?" An old man with snow-white hair and eyes turned his archaic gaze in a certain direction, confusion forming. "What are the Netherworld's Forces doing in those forgotten lands? Were they not hell-bent on breaking through our Northern Frontier just a few years ago?? What are they up to now???"

Expanding his unbelievably wide Slayer Sense, the snow-white-haired old man zoomed far out. A giant blueish-gold barrier entered his sights at the most maximum zoomed-out distance.

This was the Motherland. An absolutely humongous landmass protected by a barrier that had been there since before anyone alive could remember.

The Motherland itself was larger than the Common Universe, spanning a distance of trillions of lightyears. Furthermore, it filled up almost everything in sight, nearly touching upon both intangible ends of the Land of Beginnings.

Off to the right-side edge of the Motherland, where the old white-haired man was located—there existed the tiny dot-like Azure Archipelago. It was almost too small to find, but this white-haired old man was no normal Transcendent Class Slayer; locating it barely posed a challenge.
