When the energy came off the horns and zapped the nearby slime, it vanished within a second.

The slime that got hit completely stopped moving, its body shivered with bubbles forming everywhere for a while.

Theo was shocked, that electric strike was this strong?

'It might even be half as good as Spore Lash at level 2. But… Spore Lash doesn't damage the enemy, it only paralyzes them. What about this one?' Theo thought and wanted to ask Bram in curiosity, but seeing him so focused, he refrained. 𝖓𝔬𝖛𝔭𝔲𝖇.𝔠𝔬𝖒

The calf hadn't stopped; it moved its hoof up in the air and smacked it directly at the slime's body.

Theo saw the slime this time and sighed, no matter how good an ability was, if one didn't know how to use it, then it was useless.

The slime's core had shifted to the side; even if it was zapped, it was able enough to still protect itself.

The calf snorted and brought its feet above in the air, only to see that the slime had totally latched onto its lower leg and seemed to be moving up slowly with each passing second.

Theo felt nostalgia and looked at the leg of the boar with calm, "Can you use the electric shock again, elder brother?"

Bram, who was confused as to what to do now, looked at Theo with panic, "It's… 3 more seconds…"

MOOOOHHHH

The calf shrieked in a high-pitched voice which told Theo that it was really not that old.

He waited for a few seconds when finally, the calf seemed calmed down and small jolts of electric current formed in its horns.

Before he knew it, the slime in the front got zapped once and it made those weird bubbles again.

When the calf tugged on its leg again, it came right off, and the slime became a slush on the ground.

"He… He killed it…" Bram spoke in disbelief and Theo nodded.

All the other slimes had already come near enough to latch themselves on the calf.

Seeing that Bram was panicked now and his attendant was going to help out, Theo decided to help himself.

'Spore Lash.' When Theo gave a mental command, he tried finding the mantis in the clearing, and only when a lot of spores showed in the spot where the slimes were located did he finally see the little guy.

The spores were in a large quantity this time, and Theo was surprised to see that out of the four slimes left in the clearing, three of them were paralyzed now.

Theo couldn't see it, but before he could give another command, the mantis greedily pulled some of the slime out of the nearest moss slime and started eating it.

It was as if any scare against these creatures was already gone from its mind. The mantis was the greatest weakness of the moss slimes with the metallic nature of its exoskeleton.

With another mental command, the slime in the front popped completely, making the calf flinch as if it was its first time looking at it.

Before he gave another command, he saw the mantis get inside one of the moss slimes just like the old times.

But before the cooldown could regenerate, the mantis kept moving closer to the core even though the slime had tightened itself fully.

Another pop sound came, and Theo was surprised to see the mantis take a little munch of the core before becoming a blur and killing another.

He didn't know whether to laugh or cry seeing the glutton just keep taking bites here and there.

All the slimes were dead in the clearing now, and Theo entered it.

When Bram came close too, the calf brisked toward him and kept its face near his chest. Bram patted its head with concern.

"He is not capable of defeating them, right Theo?" Bram asked with a light chuckle.

"It seems we have been playing wrong, elder brother. I get what we have to do now."

"Hm?" Bram was confused. Both Clara and Elira looked at each other and then at Theo, both of them curious too.

"Till you don't level up your beast's skills, it will never be able to defeat something with those electric charges. You need to focus on that," Theo spoke, and he knew everybody already knew that part.

But he continued, "But that doesn't mean that we will stop for today. I will still help you level up, elder brother," Theo said and smiled.

"B-But, he cannot do anything right now… Theo." Bram was dejected for now; it seemed as if his planning had all been battered just because the calf was not able to finish off the slimes.

"That is why I am going to propose something. For today only, you can become this small team's support, elder brother. Hit the slimes with your abilities and the mantis will deal the killing blow. Is that okay with you?" Theo asked with a genuine smile.

Bram was surprised to hear that, so was his attendant, yet Clara only smiled knowingly.

"Will you do that for me? Really?" Bram asked innocently and Theo nodded.

"Thanks for the offer, Theo. It really feels like a loss that we came this far in the forest and go back with nothing." Bram spoke and continued with a long breath, "I would like to take your help, yes."

"Great," Theo grinned and moved his elbow up toward Bram, who smacked it with his.

Theo looked at Clara once and she understood. The next moment, the pup went out of the clearing to find more of those slimes.

Meanwhile, they all stayed in the clearing. Theo observed the ape and the eagle without even faking it. The ape glanced toward him a lot of times too, which made an involuntary shiver run down his spine, yet he tried facing it head-on.

The ape was unlike the one he had faced before, this one was a lot more calm.

Yet on the other hand, the eagle seemed restless and looked everywhere, up and down a lot.

"Seems this one's rearing to fly, Elira. Why don't you let it flap its wings?"
