"Outside?" Huan Xingzi's words immediately startled the Grand Secretary.

He couldn't help but recall a legend that had been passed down for many years, which claimed that this world had been specially created by the First Emperor, and that there was an even vaster world beyond it.

"So there really is an outside world, yet I have no idea what it truly looks like."

"Outside is much larger than here, but it is also far more dangerous." Huan Xingzi did not wish to elaborate on this topic, since they were but a group of failures, now only able to hide here.

"Do you have any other questions?" Huan Xingzi asked.

The Grand Secretary shook his head, feeling that everything that happened today had overturned his understanding. The once exalted Imperial Family had been wiped out, and the rumors of the outside world were confirmed for the first time by the presence of this youth who bore the First Emperor's bloodline. It all made him feel as though he was in the midst of a myth.

"Then, do any of you have objections to Zhao Pu becoming the Emperor?" Huan Xingzi looked around and asked in a deep voice.

The surrounding officials all shook their heads. What a joke, seeing the Grand Secretary had no objections, how could they dare to disagree, especially not forgetting the Qi Cultivator standing before them had ways to kill without a trace.

Thus, the matter of Zhao Pu ascending to the throne was decided just like that, smoothly like a well-orchestrated drama, for after all, the Imperial Family's bloodline had ceased to exist, leaving no one but Zhao Pu capable of ascending to that throne.

You must understand that because of the First Emperor, should a non-descendent take the Dragon Throne, they would surely die a bloody death.

Among the congratulations of the crowd, Zhao Pu slowly sat upon the Dragon Throne, a look of disbelief in his eyes. Just like that, he had become an Emperor, tasked with managing a vast, yet thoroughly ravaged empire.

However, he quickly regained his composure, and sternly scanning the crowd, he said lightly, "Rise."

The somewhat immature voice echoed in the hall, but no one dared to underestimate it. From the moment they knelt, the sovereign-subject relationship was established, and moreover, Huan Xingzi, who stood by his side, represented the most powerful Qi Cultivator in the world; their attitude could change everything.

The eunuchs had already started to orderly clean the bloodstains in the hall, the thick scent of blood assaulting the brain, causing discomfort. The long-standing struggle for succession had finally concluded in this absurd fashion.

No one had expected that the one sitting on the throne would be a hitherto unknown and young name, but for most in the court, this was the best choice.

After all, if that tyrannical Emperor continued to rule, these traitors wouldn't end well, and surely they assumed this new sovereign would be easier to deal with than the old Emperor.

Many harbored dark thoughts, never imagining themselves in that position, but the act of controlling the sovereign and commanding the officials had also occurred in this realm.

All seemed very harmonious, but still, there were discordant voices among them. At that moment, a feminine-looking man who had been close to the old Emperor was staring hatefully at Zhao Pu seated upon the Dragon Throne.

Suddenly, he moved, his figure like a Ghostly Wraith, and in an instant he had reached Zhao Pu, hissing hatefully, "The Emperor's throne is hardly suited for a whelp like you, die!"

His voice was full of resentment, like a Poison Snake hidden deep in the Nine Serenities, carrying a chill.

Everyone was shocked by the scene before them. Who could have imagined that in Great Qin someone would dare to draw a sword against an Emperor, knowing that before this, that formidable young man had only struck out at a Prince.

The Emperor of Great Qin was famously protected by the True Dragon, and as everyone watched, a glow emitted from the Dragon Throne. A fearsome, large dragon emerged and snapped its jaws.

With a crisp snap, the effeminate man was bitten in two by the True Dragon, and his blood splattered, re-dyeing the palace floor—which the eunuchs had just cleaned—bright red.

Though the effeminate man was now in two pieces, he still did not die. He grasped a dagger and struggled toward the Dragon Throne, obsessed with the idea of killing Zhao Pu.

"This throne belongs to His Majesty. You are not allowed to sit on it," the effeminate man said furiously.

His words astounded everyone. They had not expected that there would actually be someone so loyal to the deceased Emperor.

Zhao Pu did not respond. He knew that nothing he said at that moment could change the mind of a man seeking death, so why say more and risk being mocked by his ministers?

"In this world, he was the kindest and most gentle person to me, and no one else is allowed to sit in his place, only he can," the effeminate man muttered to himself. Losing too much blood, his consciousness began to blur. As he raised his head, he seemed to see that familiar man sitting on the imperial throne. A determined smile suddenly appeared on his aggrieved face.

"Ying Xi, I'm coming to you!"

The effeminate man let out one final cry. Then, his body underwent a strange transformation, with countless dark Cursed Scripts appearing out of nowhere, moving like tiny black worms, rapidly covering his body.

Soon after, black fog began to gather and gradually formed into a Ferocious Ghost with blood-red eyes, staring intently at Zhao Pu.

The resentment, unwillingness, and emotions of everyone previously killed in the great hall now fed the Ferocious Ghost. In no time, the Ghostly Entity had become immensely powerful.

Huan Xingzi frowned as he looked at this suddenly-appeared Ghostly Entity, feeling its terrifying power. A saying from his master suddenly came to mind.

"Among the ghosts of this world, there are four particular Ghostly Wraiths. Since Pangu created the heavens, these have existed in the world, each corresponding to the negative emotions of living beings: killing, fear, resentment, desire. These emotions are the best nourishment for them. If encountered, they must be dealt with immediately, otherwise, they will become incredibly difficult to kill."

"Could this be the manifestation of one of those beings from the ghostly phenomena?" Huan Xingzi murmured to himself.

While Huan Xingzi was still speculating, the Ghostly Entity had grown as tall as the grand hall, its fearsome face locking on everyone inside, sending a chilling terror that swept through them, causing an involuntary shudder throughout their bodies.

"This is bad!" Huan Xingzi immediately sensed trouble as the Ghostly Entity's growth rate was far too quick.

"It's that Xu Fu's doing again!" An old man suddenly appeared next to Huan Xingzi, his master, the leader standing on the high platform.

"Master!" Huan Xingzi bowed respectfully.

The old man waved his hand, indicating his disciple not to be overly formal, and looked at the large Ghostly Entity with a furrowed brow, saying, "This guy really managed to summon it!"
