Chapter 1139: Chapter 1139: Seizing Power
Five-river Province.
The lights blazed and liquor flowed!
Julius Reed disembarked from the airport, already faced with a crowd.
Miguel Abbott, Stanislaus Potter, and Irving Harris.
Irving Harris sat in a wheelchair at the center as Miguel Abbott and Stanislaus Potter flanked him.
At the back, a rather laid-back Lucan Davenport and the charmingly seductive Red Widow.
Ever since Red Widow arrived in Five-river Province to investigate the Radcliffe Family, Lucan had been silently tasked with her protection.
Now that the Radcliffe affairs were over, both were quite relaxed.
Lucan had directly become the head of Willson Group’s security team, casually roaming around, managing affairs for Julius Reed with a hefty salary.
Red Widow had become a secretary,
responsible for helping Julius Reed monitor the internal staff.
"Mr. Reed!"
Upon seeing Julius Reed descend from the plane, Miguel Abbott and Stanislaus Potter immediately greeted him.
"How many times have I told you, don’t do this."
Julius Reed shook his head, looking helplessly at his million-dollar watch on his wrist, "Really, don’t do this again. Only this once, never to be repeated!"
"Understood!"
Miguel Abbott smiled and gestured with a ’please’ sign, "As per your instructions, the convertible sports car is ready. Behind it, a uniform fleet of cars is sure to make the headlines!"
"Keep it low-key!"
Julius Reed reminded then, acknowledging the others before walking out of the airport and getting into the sports car.
He was about to put pressure on The North Sea.
"Damn! Such a wealthy guy! That fleet of cars must be worth billions!"
Outside the airport, people had already gathered.
"Definitely a rich second generation, such a flashy set-up! He’ll run into trouble sooner or later! Wastrels, wealth doesn’t last more than three generations, that’s how it goes!"
"People who don’t know how to be low-key will definitely take a fall. As flashy as he is now, he will be equally miserable in the future!"
Most comments were rather harsh.
But suddenly.
Julius Reed put on sunglasses, leaning back in his seat.
In his hand, he held a briefcase full of money.
Whoosh!
Unexpectedly, he threw the money out.
"The boss has got style! Surely he’ll have a prosperous lineage!"
"Congratulations on your fortune!"
"Big and steady, with a face that looks wealthy! In ancient times, he could have definitely been a noble or a minister!"
As the bills fluttered onto the faces of passersby,
Their comments softened instantly.
Cash Ability!
"Simply magnetic to the people." 𝚗ovp𝚞b.𝚌om
"A truly capable man!"
The compliments were unending.
"Boss, this seems a bit not low-key!"
Miguel Abbott whispered from the backseat.
"Can’t help it, need to make it known to put some pressure on my opponents," Julius Reed said as he continued to throw money, "Taken from the people, used for the people, consider it giving back to society."
The motorcade slowly drove on like a parade.
Not far away, on top of a tall building,
Someone watched Julius Reed with sunglasses via a binocular.
"As arrogant as ever."
A woman spoke displeasurably, "A pity, he’s still alive."
After saying that, she handed over the binoculars.
It was passed to a woman with curled blond hair wearing a long dress.
"He’s always been arrogant, but there’s something I need to report to the princess," Eldest Victor took the binoculars and said, "Night Fairy is dead."
Through the binoculars, she saw Julius Reed’s face.
As annoying as ever.
Swoosh!
Baylor Davenport slapped her hand on the windowsill, turned, and went to a cabinet to fetch a box of hidden weapons.
Whoosh!
She opened the window and began to take aim.
"Night Fairy, how did she die?"
Baylor Davenport aimed her gun while asking,
"I killed her."
Elder Victor spoke softly.
"What?"
Baylor Davenport was initially stunned, then lifted her head is disbelief, "A reason? At the very least, give me a reason! Didn’t our Cavalry from The North Sea charge a thousand miles just so the Night Fairy could seek revenge? And now, you’ve killed her without even going through me?"
She was furious!
Even though she had always been restrained enough!
But today, it was unbearable.
This was overstepping bounds!
Even somewhat contemptuous!
"I’m sorry,"
Elder Victor slightly bowed his head, speaking somewhat nervously, "It happened suddenly, and I had to kill. Please, Princess, believe me, I truly have my unspeakable reasons."
"How long ago?"
Baylor Davenport asked aloud.
"Three days."
Elder Victor responded.
"Three days! And I’m only finding out now!" Finally, Baylor Davenport somewhat exploded!
She released her long-repressed emotions completely!
"The faction alliance of the Night Fairy was killed, and in the media, it has already caused the Holy Master to be beyond redemption. As far as I know, the situation inside Demarco Mount is extremely turbulent; some voices have even suggested re-electing the Holy Master. Therefore, our mission has been accomplished. As for the Night Fairy, her death is of no consequence," Elder Victor muttered lowly.
"Are you teaching me how to handle matters?"
Baylor Davenport erupted with some fury.
"No, merely suggesting," Elder Victor said with a light chuckle.
"Now, I officially strip you of your Elder status! Starting today, you are not to step out of the hotel!" Baylor Davenport shouted, "Someone!"
Whoosh!
Several guards rushed in from outside.
"Take Elder Victor to her room, she is not to leave without my command!"
Baylor Davenport said coldly.
As her words fell, the guards rushed up immediately, grabbing Baylor Davenport by the arms.
"Are you rebelling?"
Baylor Davenport felt a hint of surprise, but quickly calmed down.
"Elder Victor, such devious machinations."
"Self-preservation," Elder Victor replied with a light smile, suddenly ripping off the mask on his face.
Revealing a face identical to Baylor Davenport’s.
"Keep the princess in this room; she is not to leave without my command! If she tries to force her way out, execute first and report later!"
Elder Victor stated coldly and turned to leave.
"Very good!"
Baylor Davenport watched his retreating figure and the several guards in front of her, sitting down on the bed with a smile.
Swoosh!
The door closed.
"Princess." The guard who had just roughed up Baylor Davenport quickly handed her a mobile phone.
"Did we really think, as father and daughter, we’d fall for the same trap twice?"
Baylor Davenport took the mobile phone and dialed a number.
"Remember, if someone with my face approaches you and the password does not match, immediately execute them!"
"Understood!"
A deep male voice came from the phone.
After returning the mobile phone, Baylor Davenport picked up a box of dark weapons, continuing her watch towards the downstairs.
But Julius Reed had already disappeared.
"Next time, I definitely won’t let you off easily!"
Baylor Davenport took a deep breath and threw the dart onto the bed.
"How is the matter you were investigating progressing?"
She looked at the two guards in front of her.
"According to the princess’s instructions, we have secretly followed Elder Victor. We can almost confirm that he is indeed Kyler Reed from those days."
The guards responded expressionlessly.
They weren’t ordinary guards, but the most loyal servants of the Baylor family.
"I knew it; what woman doesn’t use sanitary pads. Indeed, just as I guessed," Baylor Davenport gently massaged her temples, speaking somewhat helplessly, "After finishing the task for me back then, you should have left. But you lurked by my side, what exactly are you plotting?"
"You may leave; I’m tired,"
Baylor Davenport finished speaking and lay down on the bed.
And the two guards immediately stiffened their faces and left the room.
