Chapter 1149: Chapter 1149: Lure the Tiger Away from the Mountain of Leaving
"Somebody’s framing me."
At the top floor of the Willson Building, Julius Reed hung up the phone and fell into deep thought.
Who would be framing him?
Or rather, framing Mad Dragon?
Now, the identity of the leader of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance and Mad Dragon were one and the same.
There weren’t many who knew both were the same person.
The four chief maids knew, and those around him knew.
Anyone who knew was someone close to him!
But who could it be that killed the sword fanatic on the way and impersonated it as the doing of Mad Dragon?
Julius Reed entrusted Lillian Tompson to investigate this matter, while he sat in the office of the Willson Building, starting to ponder over the Divine Dragon Tripod.
From the beginning of his memory recovery, until the encounter with the people of Ceylon Mountain and the ambush by Shadow Gate in the capital city,
He had only just barely remembered his identity as Mad Dragon.
Later, through an ancient book left at Seven Clouds Academy, Julius Reed recalled the Divine Dragon Tripod.
That thing that could change a person’s lifespan.
Including Granny Xihua, Devlin, among others.
They, too, were becoming clearer.
But the more he understood, the more complicated things became.
Originally, he thought his memory loss back then was simply due to a betrayal by villains, employees!
But now it seems that might not be the case.
Including the investigation into Isabella Warm’s disappearance, it only made him more confused.
Some say Isabella Warm is good, others say she is bad.
Even the four maids sworn to protect him could not agree!
Julius Reed wasn’t even clear about Lillian Tompson, who had always been by his side; whether she was good or bad.
In this world, the only person he could trust was himself.
Trust no one.
The King is lonely.
Standing at the very top of power means one must endure this pain!
"Swimming City, Ghost Market." Julius Reed kept murmuring this place name.
Since the Divine Dragon Tripod turned out to be a fake, he had no need to fight over it.
But where was the real Divine Dragon Tripod?
Julius Reed tried hard to recall, but his memory was like falling into an endless abyss, utterly irretrievable.
He had to search bit by bit on his own to recover his lost memories.
The diary was about the research on the fake Divine Dragon Tripod.
But some of the text gave Julius Reed some insights.
"Swimming City!"
Finally.
He stood up, planning to make a trip to Swimming City.
The safest place in the world was none other than Swimming City!
As long as one stayed there, even if enemies met, they couldn’t lay a finger on each other!
Otherwise, they would certainly be punished.
But suddenly, his cell phone rang.
"Hello."
Seeing an unknown number, Julius Reed hesitated for a moment but still decided to answer.
Anyone who knew the number had to be from the martial world, or someone from a martial sect.
Originally, only people close to him knew this number.
But as time passed, it was naturally leaked out.
"Is this Mr. Julius Reed?"
From the phone, a deep male voice sounded.
"Go ahead."
Since they knew his name, it must be someone from the martial world.
Julius Reed got straight to the point without beating around the bush.
"I am the Town North King from The North Sea. Presumably, you have heard of my great name. But don’t be nervous, I’m here to help you."
The voice of the Town North King came through the phone. 𝓷ℴ𝓋𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝒸𝓸𝓶
"I’ve long heard of your name. Tell me, what is it?" Julius Reed asked diplomatically.
But inside, he felt very surprised.
The North Sea!
And the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance were mortal enemies!
They were committed to a fight to the death!
In fact, during the happenings in Gonzalez City, they had already started the war!
And now, the Town North King, the significant power of The North Sea, was actually reaching out to him?
"Let’s make a deal," the Town North King said leisurely on the other end of the phone.
"Speak."
"The North Sea is desolate, and the wrongdoings of the Baylor family have already been punished. I believe you need a loyal manager. Instead of letting Baylor Davenport become a thorn in your side, why not let me take care of that for you? But in return, you must let me rule The North Sea."
"Why should I agree? Are you suggesting that if the Wayland could extinguish The North Sea once, they wouldn’t be able to do it a second time?"
"Right now, Baylor Davenport is a severe concern for you. Moreover, all the factions of The North Sea have already assembled. If I become the ruler of The North Sea, you’ll have no future worries."
"Agreed."
Julius Reed thought rapidly and then gave his consent.
"My sincerity lies in the whereabouts of Baylor Davenport," the Town North King spoke, "I hope you will keep your promise."
After the call ended, Julius Reed tapped his fingers non-stop on the desktop.
He wasn’t sure what the Town North King’s phone call meant.
At this level, phone tracking was useless.
Though The North Sea had been a fallen state for years, now just one flag raised could still attract numerous capable and ambitious people.
One minute later, a text message from the Town North King arrived on his phone.
It was an address.
A very clear one.
Five-river Province wasn’t too familiar to Julius Reed, but when he opened his computer and typed in the address, he found it was deep in the mountains and forest, sixty kilometers away from him.
From a geographical standpoint, it was sufficiently hidden.
A perfect place for someone to remain concealed.
Gonzalez City bordered the sea, while Five-river Province was surrounded by mountains.
Surrounded by mountains meant lots of trees.
Catching someone in such a dense forest was indeed challenging.
One moment of inattention, and the individual could escape.
"Gather all our monitors in Five-river Province and encircle these coordinates for me!" Julius Reed picked up the phone and called Templeton Lena.
Not only did Seven Clouds Academy have spies in Gonzalez City, but also in Five-river Province.
And previously, Julius Reed had secretly dispatched a portion of the Wolf Cavalry.
These men, along with Cold Nelson, had killed the Valley Master of Ghost Valley in the Five-river Province.
And when they made the thousand-mile rush to Ghost Valley’s stronghold, these same people stayed behind.
But no one knew.
Only Julius Reed and Cold Nelson were privy to this information.
After giving the instructions to Templeton Lena, he took the elevator straight out of the Willson Building.
Once outside, he hopped into an SUV and sped toward the coordinates on the map.
And following his car, a number of jeeps trailed closely behind.
Many spies previously lurking around the docks, airports, and junctions were all called back and urgently headed towards the coordinates on the map.
Ever since Seven Clouds Academy had reestablished its presence in Gonzalez City, it had drawn many martial artists to join.
With numbers expanded to several hundred.
Moreover, each one was an elite among martial artists, undergoing rigorous screening before qualifying for Seven Clouds Academy.
After leaving the urban area, the cars took a national road.
More and more vehicles joined the convoy along the way.
"Mad Dragon, our drones have scouted the area, and there are indeed people camped there. They look like a large base, but for safety, we didn’t fly too low," came Templeton Lena’s phone call.
"Proceed at full speed and completely surround those people!" Julius Reed replied, squinting his eyes.
After all the vehicles departed.
In Five-river Province, at a road intersection.
Another convoy was parked.
At the lead, a man sat in the driver’s seat of an SUV.
"General, all of Julius Reed’s secret stakes in Five-river Province have been retracted and are now racing towards the coordinates you provided."
Hearing the voice on the phone, the Town North King donned sunglasses and rolled down the car window.
"Princess, I’ve led Julius Reed astray and am now heading towards Shadow Gate."
After speaking, he stretched his hand out of the window, waving gently.
Behind him, tens of jeeps surged onto the highway and roared off.
