Chapter 973: Chapter 973: People Change

On the phone, it was Anna Harris’s voice.

Julius Reed could not have mistaken it.

But, he did not rush to question her.

"Anna, where is Quella?"

"Quella went to the restroom! Worried that you’d call her, she left her phone with me."

Over the phone, Anna Harris’s voice sounded quite playful.

"When did you arrive in Gonzalez City? Why didn’t you tell me? At the very least, I could have treated you to a full package of food, drinks, and entertainment!"

Julius Reed spoke as though he was completely uninformed, his tone very casual.

"I just got to the capital, and Quella picked me up from the airport."

Anna Harris said with a chuckle, "Miss me?"

"Get lost! When are you coming back? I’ll cook for you."

Julius Reed suppressed the anger in his heart and asked as if he were very relaxed.

"Not coming back. Originally, Quella picked me up from the airport, but now there’s trouble in Gonzalez City, so she’s coming back with me."

On the other end of the phone, Anna Harris said cheerfully, "Remember to reimburse me for the plane ticket, or don’t blame me for taking your wife and secretly killing her, okay?"

A remark that seemed like a joke caused Julius Reed’s brow to furrow slightly.

"Go ahead, kill her. That would be perfect to use you to settle the account and have you as my wife instead."

Without any hesitation, Julius Reed blurted out these words.

He was not sure if Anna Harris knew that he was already aware of her background.

But, nothing was more important than Quella’s safety.

At least, stabilize the situation first.

"Dream on! Can’t be bothered to argue with you. Quella’s back, you talk to her."

"Julius, where are you?"

Quella’s voice came through the phone.

"Why did you rush back, and moreover, without telling me?"

Julius Reed’s tone was somewhat stern, but also concerned.

Not knowing would have been better.

But now, with Baylor Davenport inseparable from Quella, how could he be at ease?

"I did call you, but your phone couldn’t connect at all."

Quella explained, "My mom called, saying my dad suddenly had a heart attack, and he is being treated at the Gonzalez City Central Hospital..."

"Heart attack!"

Julius Reed coldly said, "Last time, your grandfather’s critical illness was a conspiracy. This incident now seems a bit too coincidental."

Otis Radcliffe had just returned to Gonzalez City, and Burl Radcliffe suddenly had a heart attack?

What a coincidence!

But recalling the Armin Levis Group’s sealed office with no signal was quite normal.

"But... but my mom wouldn’t lie to me... and I had no choice, it was my dad..."

Quella’s voice grew softer as she spoke.

"I understand. Like this, wait for me at the airport, I’ll be there soon..."

"Julius, you better come back quickly. We are catching a flight, about to take off. I’m turning off the phone, goodbye!"

Anna Harris snatched the phone, shouted, and then quickly hung up.

"Hiss!"

Julius Reed clenched his fists tightly, almost crushing the phone.

"Baylor Davenport, you will pay the price."

"My lord, what should we do?"

Lillian Tompson asked from behind him.

"They’ll probably take off soon. Arrange a flight for me immediately, straight to Gonzalez City!"

Julius Reed turned around, looking at Lillian Tompson, "This shouldn’t be too difficult, right?"

"Absolutely, my lord!"

Lillian Tompson placed her hands on her chest, speaking respectfully, "Within half an hour, I’ll arrange a helicopter to take us to the airport, directly boarding a private plane to Gonzalez City."

"Get it done now." Julius Reed pointed at her, "This is the first time in four years you’ve handled tasks by my side. Don’t disappoint me, understood?"

"Understood!"

Lillian Tompson immediately regained her queen-like assertiveness, took out her phone, and dialed a number: "Within half an hour, I need a private jet direct to Gonzalez City. If you can’t manage, I want your head."

After speaking, she didn’t give the person on the line any chance to discuss and hung up the phone directly.

"I’m afraid we’ll arrive in Gonzalez City after Baylor Davenport,"

she said worriedly, "Might the madam..."

"No problem."

Julius Reed pulled up Aron Jackson’s number and dialed.

"Big brother, when will you be back?"

The call connected quickly, and Aron Jackson’s excited voice came through the receiver.

Usually, Julius Reed would chat casually with Aron Jackson for a bit.

But on the other end of the phone, it might not be Aron Jackson.

"Your sister-in-law might arrive in Gonzalez City in a few hours. Otis Radcliffe suddenly showed up, and I’m a bit worried about her safety."

"Understood! Don’t worry, big brother. I’ll take some people directly to Gonzalez City Airport to pick up your sister-in-law!"

Aron Jackson vowed, "If I am here, your sister-in-law is here. If I am not here, your sister-in-law will still be here!"

"Good, see you tonight."

Julius Reed narrowed his eyes and muttered to himself, "Who might you be then?"

Gonzalez City, where many heroes gather.

"One thing I have never understood is why, after losing my memory, did I appear in Gonzalez City?"

He turned around and looked at Lillian Tompson, "Do you know why?"

"I do not know,"

Lillian Tompson lowered her head, answering respectfully, "Only when the Sealing Dragon Platform lit up did I realize that Holy Master was still alive in this world. But one thing..."

She lifted her head, her eyes earnestly on Julius Reed, "Before your incident, Isabella Warm had been to Gonzalez City. Grace River and I both know this."

"Gonzalez City..."

Julius Reed lifted his head, looking up at the sky.

Why on earth had he appeared in Gonzalez City?

"Perhaps, we will only understand the truth after finding Isabella Warm."

He stretched out his right hand, offering it to Lillian Tompson, "This Dragon King Ring, do you recognize it?"

The maid of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, always close to the Holy Master.

Bathing and dressing, all personally tended to by four.

But Julius Reed was not interested in them, or rather, he wasn’t interested in women.

In his view, there was no difference between men and women.

Until, that morning he lost three hundred dollars...

"Holy Master, what is wrong with this ring?"

Lillian Tompson gently touched it with her hand, "The Dragon King Ring has always been with you. In all the decades I’ve served you, I have never seen you take it off."

"I suspect there’s something wrong with this ring."

Julius Reed looked at her, "You have served by my side for many years and should know the Dragon King Ring very well. Look closely, what is unusual about this ring?"

He had always believed there was a problem with the ring.

Every time he made a move, although the ring provided him with powerful energy,

a tremendous surge of malevolent energy would course through his finger, penetrating his entire body!

Very strange.

And currently, this ring could not be taken off at all.

"Having served you for decades, this ring has never left your finger. However, it looks no different. Holy Master, could it be..."

Lillian Tompson scrutinized it carefully, yet found nothing abnormal.

"No problem, perhaps I just remember too many things wrong after losing my memory,"

Julius Reed smiled faintly.

As the two were chatting, a helicopter slowly circled overhead.

"Holy Master, please board the helicopter,"

Lillian Tompson called out.

"Tell it to land"

Julius Reed said somewhat displeased.

"Okay!"

With a shout, Lillian Tompson leaped into the air, skyrocketing several dozens of meters, and boarded the helicopter.

Then, the helicopter slowly descended.

"In the past, you always liked to board the helicopter this way."

Lillian Tompson stood in the helicopter, smiling as she spoke.

"People change."

Julius Reed’s face was stern.
