Chapter 981: Chapter 981: Why Women Make Life Difficult for Other Women

"Knox Ridge, go and see where Aron Jackson is."

Gonzalez City, Central Hospital.

In a high-level ward.

Burl Radcliffe waved his hand towards Knox Ridge.

"Ah, okay."

Knox Ridge immediately picked up her phone and ran towards the corridor.

"Dad, are you close with Aron Jackson?"

Quella Radcliffe, seeing this scene, raised her eyebrows and asked.

By now, she was almost certain.

The person lying in front of her was not her father at all!

She couldn’t believe that a person could change this much.

Just like a stranger.

No telepathy whatsoever.

"Hehe, when you weren’t here, luckily Mr. Jackson took care of me. Speaking of which, we really should thank him properly."

Burl Radcliffe smiled, but his eyes kept staring at the doorway.

And in the ward, the nurse who had been standing the whole time also seemed somewhat anxious.

"People outside said that Aron Jackson went out on business, alone." Knox Ridge burst in, clutching the phone, "Can’t get through on his mobile, no one is answering. I asked around, they said Quella received a call and then spoke to Aron Jackson about something."

"Is that so?"

Burl Radcliffe turned his head, looking towards Quella: "Whose call was it?"

"A friend’s."

Quella pretended as if nothing had happened, "Aron Jackson was just asking me when Julius Reed would be back; he wanted to go pick him up from the airport."

It seemed that Aron Jackson was most likely in serious trouble!

Since her own father might not even be real, not to mention Aron Jackson.

She had to help Julius Reed delay time.

"Give me the phone, let me see!"

Burl Radcliffe stretched out his hand, his tone somewhat cold.

Anxious, and uneasy.

"Why? Dad, you are not well, you should be recuperating, and avoid looking at your phone."

Quella picked up an apple, about to peel it.

"Show Dad your call log."

Burl Radcliffe gave a sign, and Knox Ridge quickly rushed over.

"Quick, bring out your phone!"

She immediately reverted to her previous feisty manner.

"Mom, why are you being so harsh to me?"

Quella frowned slightly, somewhat displeased, "Why do you need my phone. Both of you, why are you acting so strange today?"

"Stop the nonsense!"

Knox Ridge didn’t say another word, directly reaching out to snatch it: "Your dad wants to see it, so quickly take it out! Are you being slow on purpose, what’s wrong with you?"

"No! The phone is my privacy, I am married now, what right do you have to look at it!"

Quella didn’t budge either, and the two began to struggle for the phone inside the ward.

"Give it here!"

Taking advantage of the chaos, Burl Radcliffe grabbed the phone, simultaneously pinching Quella’s thumb to unlock it.

"Dad, give it back!"

Slap!

Just as Quella was about to get up, Knox Ridge slapped her across the face.

"You...you want to infuriate your dad to death?"

She yelled furiously.

"Mom, you hit me?"

Quella covered her face, looking at Knox Ridge in disbelief.

She couldn’t believe that Knox Ridge would resort to violence over this matter!

And the force was so strong!

"Did you have to make it so difficult for your dad?"

Rather than feeling inappropriate, Knox Ridge was haughty, "Did your temper grow after a trip to the capital?"

Quella didn’t respond, but stared straight at her.

Sometimes, Quella really doubted whether she was really Knox Ridge’s biological daughter.

"What did Julius Reed say to you on the phone?"

Burl Radcliffe examined the call log, his face stern.

"He said..."

Quella sneered, her face full of disappointment.

Looking at Burl Radcliffe on the hospital bed, she began, "He said he’d be back late, told Aron Jackson not to rush to the airport."

"Just that?"

Burl Radcliffe frowned, "Impossible! If that was it, Aron Jackson wouldn’t have left alone! Picking up Julius Reed, he’d definitely bring staff and drive a fleet."

"Tell me, what exactly did the phone call say, hurry up and tell!"

Knox Ridge urged from the side.

She appeared even more anxious.

"That’s all I have to say. If you don’t believe it, call and ask."

Quella Radcliffe turned away indifferently, without saying a word.

"Daughter, talk to your dad."

Seeing that a tough approach failed, Burl Radcliffe quickly switched his stance and began playing the family card, "Just now, mom and dad might have been a bit harsh, and now I apologize to you."

He cheerfully handed the mobile phone to Quella, "You know, Otis Radcliffe is coming on strong, very scary! I only feel safe with Aron Jackson protecting me. Now that he’s missing, what will we do if Otis Radcliffe comes to cause trouble?"

"Right, your dad is right."

Knox Ridge chimed in from the side, "You girl, if you have anything to say, say it quickly."

She became even more anxious!

The deal was botched, not a penny earned!

If it had worked, tens of millions!

Enough for her to squander for a lifetime.

"Mom, I’ve lived for over twenty years, and it’s the first time I’ve heard you say that dad is right."

Quella Radcliffe turned around, with a smile that was not quite a smile, "I really never noticed you could be so accommodating."

Being able to cooperate with the fake Burl Radcliffe meant Knox Ridge must have been in the know!

Where was her real father then?

She hated!

She had never felt such hatred.

"What do you mean!"

Knox Ridge put her hands on her hips, pointing at Quella, "Speak up! Otherwise, don’t blame me for getting physical!"

Thinking of the millions about to be lost, she was frantic.

"Go ahead and hit."

Quella Radcliffe said indifferently, "Julius Reed’s plane will arrive in Gonzalez City in one hour. That’s all I know, I don’t know anything else."

"An hour, huh?"

Burl Radcliffe pulled out a cellphone from under the pillow, quickly typing a message.

"Dad, who are you texting?"

Quella Radcliffe asked casually.

"Elders Victor..."

Mid-sentence, Burl Radcliffe’s expression drastically changed!

"Are you tricking me?"

He said coldly, "Knox Ridge, take her away."

After sending the message, Burl Radcliffe lay on the hospital bed and closed his eyes to rest.

"Come home with me!"

Knox Ridge, receiving her instructions, immediately grabbed Quella.

Whoosh!

Just then.

Noise came from outside the door.

"What’s going on?"

Burl Radcliffe opened his eyes, his right hand reaching under the bed, pulling out a concealed weapons box.

"I’ll check it out!"

The nurse inside the room nodded her head and quickly walked out.

"Who are you!"

As she stepped out of the room, she saw men lying all over the corridor, men of Aron Jackson.

And the only one standing was a woman.

The woman wore high heels, a very short skirt, and a pink short-sleeve top.

It was slightly chilly in early spring; such attire was certainly avant-garde.

A typical case of choosing fashion over warmth.

"A woman?"

Cosmo took out lipstick from her pocket, gently applying it to her lips.

"Women, why make it hard for other women."

After speaking, she threw the lipstick forward!

Swish!

She then sprinted forward!

Whoosh!

The nurse dodged the lipstick, but she took a solid kick to the shoulder.

The entire body staggered back several steps.

"Playing tough with me?"

Shriiip!

The nurse ripped off her uniform, revealing a black leather jacket underneath.

At the same time, she pulled out two short swords from her waist.

"A woman wielding swords isn’t good."

Cosmo twisted her neck and suddenly charged forward!
