Qin Lingxiao stared in amazement at the corpse of the Coral Dragon floating up from below.
"Dead?!"
After a moment of stunned silence, she came to her senses as if waking from a dream, and hurriedly descended towards the corpse below.
At the same time, she suddenly saw the snout of the Coral Dragon start vibrating rapidly.
The potent scent of blood and an ominous shadow from the past made Qin Lingxiao instinctively hold her breath in tension.
Nonetheless, she gritted her teeth, moving cautiously towards the pulsating snout.
To her surprise, the dragon’s snout suddenly stopped vibrating. A pair of figures, covered in some sort of sticky liquid, crawled out from a nasal hole resembling a dark abyss.
Upon seeing one of the figures, Qin Lingxiao’s entire body shook. She could hardly believe her own eyes.
"Wang, Wang Ba!"
"You’re still alive?!"
Panicked but overjoyed, she cried out. Then she landed next to the two figures, which were nearly impossible to recognize, planning to clean them up.
However, the figure released a shockwave of mana, making the grime fall off. Qin Lingxiao stared at the unmistakably ordinary, yet oddly familiar face that was revealed: the face of Wang Ba.
Upon seeing Qin Lingxiao extend her hand towards him, Wang Ba instantly took a step back, frowned, and asked her;
"What are you doing?"
"I, I...I wanted to help this monkey..."
Qin Lingxiao was taken aback by the question. Regaining her senses, she noticed the blush on her face upon realizing her actions. Trying to hide her embarrassment, she quickly turned her attention towards the Wu Monkey King.
However, on seeing the sticky yellow liquid on the body of the Wu Monkey King and smelling the stench emanating from it, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of nausea. 𝓷ℴ𝓋𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝒸𝓸𝓶
Luckily, the Wu Monkey King didn’t expect her to help. The monkey jumped aside and shook off the substance covering its body. Within moments, it returned to its clean and glossy state.
Qin Lingxiao bore the lingering smell, looked at Wang Ba with a puzzled expression, and asked;
"Why did this demonic beast suddenly die?"
"This was a Class IV demonic beast..."
Wang Ba didn’t reply. Instead, he tossed a small stamp to Qin Lingxiao, saying;
"This belongs to you."
Catching the item, Qin Lingxiao found it to be the special magic tool she had thrown away to save Wang Ba in their previous confrontation.
It had nearly equivalent capabilities to a Class IV magic treasure, yet she, as a Foundation Establishment Competitor, could still wield it.
Wang Ba soon took off flying, looking down from above. He seemed to be calculating something.
Seeing the small stamp in her hand, without thinking, Qin Lingxiao, too, took flight.
She wasn’t quite sure of Wang Ba’s intentions, but for some odd reason, she felt compelled to follow him.
After surveying the area, Wang Ba quickly took out rope from his Storage Treasure.
Using his knife magic tool, he drilled into the nostrils of the Coral Dragon to make a hole; then, he threaded the rope through it.
Pulling on the rope, Wang Ba nodded, and spoke;
"Let’s go! Let’s drag it back!"
"Eh? Us?"
Qin Lingxiao exclaimed in surprise.
Wang Ba looked at Qin Lingxiao in confusion; "Isn’t it just both of us here?"
Why did she seem so different all of a sudden? Usually, she was very efficient…could she have been traumatized by the recent experience?
Pondering the recent turn of events, Wang Ba reasoned that it was possible since Qin Lingxiao, a girl who had been sheltered all her life by royal privilege, had indeed maintained her composure until now. So it wouldn’t be surprising if her breakdown was due to the sudden distress.
Without overthinking, Wang Ba employed the Mother Qi of Dharmas to flood his entire body, then started to drag the corpse of the Coral Dragon back to the solitary Island.
Upon seeing this, Qin Lingxiao quickly joined in, lending a hand.
The Wu Monkey King was unable to fly, strapped atop the Coral Dragon it helped chase away other aquatic creatures.
Despite being dead, the threatening aura of the Coral Dragon still held sway over all the aquatic creatures in the sea, not a single one ventured close to the island.
The pair finally managed to pull the Coral Dragon all the way to the island, its massive head secured upon it.
"Why have we dragged it back?"
Finally able to focus, Qin Lingxiao asked.
Wang Ba did not hide anything, replying;
"Food."
"Food? Can we actually eat this?"
Qin Lingxiao asked, hesitant.
"Sure we can, but it’s not primarily for us."
Wang Ba glanced at the humongous corpse of the Coral Dragon, then unhesitatingly summoned his Mysterious Dragon Soldiers.
As Dao soldiers, their strength wasn’t fixed and could be continually improved.
For instance, the Princess Gao of the Chu Dynasty, Li Xiangyun, had once purchased a large batch of chicken essence from Wang Ba, to enhance the power of her Dao soldiers.
Feeding class IV demonic beast meat to these Class II Mysterious Dragon Soldiers would undoubtedly yield exceptionally high results.
Over a hundred Mysterious Dragon Soldiers, still reeling from the rich blood energy of the Coral Dragon, swarmed and burrowed into the corpse, enjoying a hearty meal.
Wang Ba wasn’t idle either, he started peeling off the coral scales from the dragon. These were actually the Scale Armor of the Coral Dragon, which had been mineralized into porous coral because the dragon had been lurking beneath the sea for so long. These corals not only fortified the dragon’s defense but also accentuated its flexibility.
These corals could be used in crafting magic tools or processed into a spirit food. Additionally, they could be used as ingredients for alchemy, or even used in making a Dragon Armor Talisman...
