Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Lilith’s Stash

Vanessa pulled up into her driveway, shutting off the engine with a tired sigh. The entire day had been exhausting, from the gunfight to dealing with Josh at the station. She just wanted to get some rest, but as she stepped inside, she saw Liam sitting on the couch, staring into the flickering flames of the fireplace. A bottle of wine rested in his hand, half-empty, and his expression was unreadable.

The moment he noticed her, his gaze lifted, locking onto hers. A slow smile spread across his face as he stood up and walked towards her. Vanessa’s heart pounded unexpectedly, and she quickly averted her gaze.

"I was waiting for you before I left," Liam said, his voice smooth yet firm. "Wanted to say thanks. For the clothes, the medical supplies, and for, well... everything." He glanced down at himself, tugging at the shirt she had given him. It fit him perfectly, and she didn’t even know why that made her feel a little warm inside. 𝔫𝖔𝖛𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪

"It’s nothing," she said quickly, waving her hand dismissively. "Just returning the favor."

Liam’s smile didn’t fade. Instead, he did something that caught Vanessa completely off guard. He stepped forward, opened his arms, and pulled her into a warm, firm hug. Vanessa stiffened at first, completely stunned. The scent of his cologne mixed with the faint traces of blood and gunpowder still lingering on him, but beneath all that, he smelled like something uniquely... Liam.

Her heart raced, and her hands hovered uncertainly before she hesitantly placed them against his back. It felt oddly... nice.

After a few seconds, Liam pulled away, looking at her with an amused smirk as he said, "Goodbye for now."

Vanessa blinked, her face slightly flushed. "Where... where are you going?" she asked, her voice coming out steadier than she expected.

Liam only grinned, that devilish smirk that sent chills down her spine. "Watch the news tomorrow morning," he said. "You’ll know."

Vanessa frowned, instantly suspicious. Was he going to cause trouble? Before she could protest, he was already gone, slipping out into the night like a ghost.

The city was alive with the hum of the night as Liam stepped onto the street. His shoulder, once burning with pain, was now completely healed, leaving behind only the faintest soreness. He flagged down a taxi, slipping inside before giving the driver an address.

Tonight, he had business to take care of.

Meanwhile, in a high-rise penthouse overlooking the city, Lilith swirled the deep red wine in her glass, her golden-blonde hair cascading over her shoulders. The television played in the background, broadcasting a report about a supposed crossfire between two gangs. She frowned slightly, taking a sip of her drink.

There had been no major conflicts today—at least, none that she had been informed about. So if there was gunfire, it had to be between low-level street gangs, and that didn’t concern her.

The soft ding of the elevator drew her attention. She turned her head just as the doors slid open, revealing Liam stepping inside.

The moment she saw him, her sharp feline-like eyes narrowed. "What the fuck have you been doing?" she asked, setting her glass down as she took in his slightly pale complexion. "Why do you look like shit?"

Liam clicked his tongue, rolling his eyes. "What is it with you?" he muttered. "Why are you always so concerned about my damn health?"

Lilith crossed her legs, resting her elbow on the arm of her chair as she smirked. "Because I have a vested interest in you, Liam," she said. "And because you always somehow end up half-dead."

Liam didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he walked over to the bar in her penthouse and poured himself a drink, downing it in one go before setting the glass aside.

"I’m fine," he said finally. "And I have work to do."

Lilith arched a brow. "Work? Don’t tell me you’re about to do something reckless again."

Liam’s grin returned, but this time, it was laced with something darker. Something dangerous.

"Reckless?" he repeated. "No. But I am going to make sure certain people remember why they shouldn’t mess with me."

Lilith exhaled, leaning back in her chair. "You’re impossible."

Liam merely smirked, pouring himself another drink.

He leaned against the plush couch, swirling the wine in his glass as he studied Lilith. His gaze was steady, unwavering, filled with that signature arrogance that always made her roll her eyes.

"So," he said, voice dripping with nonchalance, "where do you store your weapons?"

Lilith’s brow arched in amusement and disbelief. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me. Where do you keep them? You must have a stash somewhere in this place," Liam pressed, his eyes scanning the luxurious penthouse.

Lilith scoffed. "You don’t just walk into my house and ask where I keep my weapons, Liam. That’s not how this works."

Liam let out a low chuckle, leaning forward. "What am I supposed to do then? Beg?" His smirk widened. "Or maybe bribe you?"

Lilith crossed her arms, her sharp golden eyes narrowing. "No, dumbass. You’re supposed to fuck off."

Liam rolled his eyes. "Come on, Lilith. You’re the leader of the Black Lotus, the biggest gang in the city. There’s no way you don’t have a secret stash hidden somewhere. You wouldn’t be you if you didn’t."

Lilith exhaled, shaking her head. This man was relentless. She knew Liam well enough to understand that he wouldn’t leave until he got what he wanted, and more importantly, he wouldn’t shut his damned mouth it either. It was a battle she had no interest in fighting tonight.

"Fine," she said, standing up, her tone carrying a mixture of irritation and resignation. "Follow me."

Liam was about to make another smug remark when he suddenly noticed something. His eyes flickered over Lilith, truly taking in what she was wearing. His smirk faltered for half a second.

She wasn’t in her usual sharp, tailored suits or her sleek, intimidating attire. Instead, she was dressed in a nightgown—thin, silky, and dangerously revealing. The deep black fabric clung to her curves, leaving little to the imagination. There was no sign of a bra underneath, and the faint outline of her full, perky breasts was clearly visible through the sheer material. Every step she took made the gown shift against her skin, teasing him with fleeting glimpses. And then there was her ass—round, firm, jiggling ever so slightly with each graceful step.

Liam had seen Lilith in many different outfits—each one more striking than the last—but this was different. This was raw, unfiltered sex appeal. And she wasn’t even trying.

Lilith suddenly stopped walking, glancing back at him with a sharp glare. "Are you going to follow me, or are you planning to stand there drooling all night?"

Liam clicked his tongue, tearing his gaze away. "Tch. You’re no fun."

Lilith rolled her eyes. "And yet you won’t leave me alone. Move it."

Liam smirked as he followed behind her, hands shoved in his pockets. He might have gotten what he wanted, but he also got a sight he definitely wasn’t going to forget anytime soon.
