—Dang

Leon’s fist collided with the side of Draven’s sword, forcing him to be pushed back into the pool.

"Shit!!!" He struggled to get his footing in the water. Leon’s punch was heavy, this was the difference between a warlock and a mage.

Physical strength.

—voom

Before he could regain himself, leon was already rushing towards him with his Shields up.

"Water work: seven watersword"

Draven activated a spell and from the water below him seven swords made from water rose, mimicking the position of his sword.

—swoosh

—swoosh

—swoosh

He swung down and as he did so, the water swords followed a straight line, hitting Leon’s Shields one after the other.

—Boom

—Boom

—Boom

These strikes had a stacking effect. Forcing Leon to be pushed back by a few meters and creating slight cracks on his shield.

But the crack was quick to disappear as Leon fed life energy into it. The shield wasn’t invincible and with the right amount of force would break.

Unfortunately for Draven, the blood serpent shield spell also had a stacking effect.

"Stack" Leon muttered and the two shields that were previously being held up by both snake Construct each merged together.....this reduced the size of the shield but increased its density.

"Let’s try this again," Leon smirked. Liana explained a few things about the spell, but the way Leon was using it was his own method….he would redefine this spell set to fit his needs.

—splash

Leon smashed forward with his hand, Forcing Draven to jump away, and Leon followed him tightly.

Even in his own domain, Leon didn’t leave Room for rest, he would not let up.

—Boom

—Boom

—boom

"He’s already using it to this extent….looks like she was right, he might be a genius." Bartholomew mused..... Liana spoke of Leon so highly because he saved her, but she also made a stupid assumption that he might be a genius for just that fact.

Bartholomew didn’t agree with this, a random nobody could save a being with all the power in the world….it didn’t mean that the nobody was some genius. It was just luck.

"He’s still holding back you know, there’s no way this kid will win if Draven uses that spell" Beside Bartholomew, his little brother Winder commented.

He had fought Draven before and lost countless times. He in a way respected Draven, even though he was now stronger…. Winder would give him probs where they were due.

"Hmmm, let’s see" Bartholomew said causally.

His little brother was forgetting how bad he had lost to Draven on his first try. The fact that Leon was doing this good was something to praise.

Meanwhile,

(This is getting too close, do I need to use that on his first try?)

Draven was upset, it took Winder several tries to beat him and now that he had improved, this kid was coming so close in his first try?

All his hard work to make sure what Winder did never happened again was being washed before his very eyes….

This was an utter embarrassment, if he let this happen, any Tom Dick and Henry seeking glory would target him first.

(not going to happen. Over my dead body!!)

With an unadulterated surge of rage in his eyes, Draven reached forward and said.

"I was waiting to reach the middle stage of level 2 before using this to its fullest potential, but seeing your annoying face makes me pissed, I’ll use it now!!!" Draven was angry….but Leon couldn’t help but smile at this.

Carlson was also a member of the waterway family, but the level of calmness he showed in battle made it seem like he wasn’t. This guy was actually giving the household a bad name if this was how he reacted to every bit of provocation.

"Water work: Sacred Water Spring"

While a few meters away from Leon, Draven activated a spell, and from the feel of it, This wasn’t just any spell, it was a special one.

Spells were ranked by levels and grades. The level of the spell reflected the power level of the user. Like a level 2 warlock would use a level 2 spell. Then the grade represented beginner stage to peak stage. Grade 1 to grade 3 respectively.

However, there were spells that surpassed the normal grades assigned….output wise, speed wise, and damage wise, they were just better. This was one of those spell grades.

A level 2, Scared grade spell.

With the tip of his sword touching the water below, his sword and the water surrounded him turned light golden. It created a sort of domain of water.

"Die!!" Draven said, then slashed upwards.

(Block!!!)

Leon screamed in his mind as he concentrated the shield in front of him to block the spell.

—Boom!!!!

This wasn’t enough though, because as soon as the attack landed, Leon’s stacked shield broke apart completely.

"Shittt, this is bad" Leon frowned. There was a reason why this person was ranked on the top 30 sky mages. He was no weakling.

—whoosh

Another splash of golden water moving at an incredible speed came rushing towards Leon.

—wooo

By a hairs’ breath, Leon dodged and activated his blood Shields again.

Draven didn’t let up, though.....he had Leon just where he wanted him.

—Woo

—boom

—wooo

These attacks were domineering and with each strike, he would completely shatter Leon’s shield.

This was bad.

But Leon persevered, he kept dodging trying to get closer to pin him in a close combat fight.

What he didn’t know was that this was what Draven wanted. Draven wanted Leon close enough so he could end him. This Sacred Water Spring spell was as much of a long-distance spell as it was a close distance.

If Leon came close enough, he would definitely not leave unscathed.

And so he let Léon come closer and closer to him…

—Boom

—Boom

—Boom

Even so, he didn’t make it easy so as not to seen suspicious….

Shield after shield were broken through. But with each, Leon got closer and closer into the range of Draven’s sword.

And finally Leon got close enough…

—woosh

He flew into the air, causing Draven to smile evilly. He got Leon where he wanted him. Or so he thought because, in the last minute…

—screeeeeeee

An earpeircing screech emitted from Leon’s mouth, forcing everyone to cover their ears…even though this attack wasn’t meant for then, it still touched them from where they stood.

This spell was called Blood Shaking screech.

It released a sound wave that was not only loud. But also created a sort of resonance in the blood of whomsoever it was aimed at.

"Blurggggg"

And to that exact effect, Draven felt his body shaken as blood rushed all the way to his nostrils, and mouth. Forcing him to vomit blood.

"Hehe, it worked" Leon smiled, As she slowly landed beside Draven’s weakened body.

He had bid his time and made his way toward Draven slowly and when he was just outside his range, he let a rip of this spell.

"Stay down kid, I won" Leon smirked…this blood serpent Sacred warrior set was amazing. It covered so many methods of attack. It was simply magnificent.

"Great!!!! Let the world know today there is a new member of the warlock prodigies.....the 16th prodigy. Leon Alduwin of the blood serpent clan" Bartholomew announced, causing everyone to turn to him with annoyance.

Bartholomew had brought shame to their family house again. Who knows, next time they might remove Draven from the top 30 sky mages because of how many times he lost to warlocks.

It was quite embarrassing

Little did they know that, Leon, who had just beaten Draven, didn’t really care for this titled. Once he was done here, he would take up his faceless mask and go into hiding once again.

Undercity

Bartholomew’s courtyard.

—squeak

The sound of a wooden gate being swung open resounded as a figure in dirty clothes stepped into the courtyard.

"Hmm?!!" Immediately upon hearing the gate swing open, gunta , who was previously practicing on a fighting dummy, turned over and looked at the new Arrivals.

The man had blonde hair and the air of a commoner on him….but there was something strange about him.

"Who are you?" Gunta asked. He didn’t know this man, they had been here for about a week so he knew who was who, but this face was strange to say the least.

"Where’s she?" The man asked, while maintaining a stable eye contact with gunta .

"Who?" Gunta frowned, his guy had just walked In and was acting like he owned the place, what kind of logic was that?

"My daughter....." the man responded….but this time the man didn’t seem to be speaking to gunta as his eyes were firmly glued to the figure of a young lady with white hair.

She looked different and had grown up so much, but he knew who this was. He was her father, after all.
