Soon, a frustrated Draven was lead down the hole to the pathway connecting the two doors under the water fall.

"Good day, master, you summoned me?" Draven gritted his teeth, he swore that ever since he became one of the 30 sky mages of duan city he had been plagued with competition.

It felt like he was a punching bag, this was not a nice feeling.

"Ehhh, our friend here would like to engage in a friendly match with you, I approve of it, so don’t be too worried about holding back. He is strong enough" the elder swordhand explained loudly.

He wanted everyone to be at ease, he, the master, had given his student the go ahead to let loose. He couldn’t lose.

But for precious.

"It’s your position as a sky mage that’s on the line here, you had best defeat this guy or you’re dead" the elder whispered into Draven’s ear. He wasn’t happy about what happened the past few days, but there was nothing he could do about it apart from advise.

Draven had to decide to not want to lose by himself.

"What?" Draven frowned, was there a petition to take away his title by the city or something? This couldn’t be.

Draven felt panic. His hands shook slightly, and his lip tucked, he couldn’t let this happen. He clenched his fist and looked over at Leon.

"Okay, shall we begin?" Leon smirked. This was going to be tricky. Yes, he had beaten Draven before, but could he use his warlock spells here? No!!

He had to find another way. Coincidentally, he had a plan.

Leon lifted a pair of chained daggers in front of him and entered a fighting pose. Immediately after he did this, the entire Area turned silent.

This wasn’t because they were in anticipation of the match, it was because Leon had just picked up the grade 3 treasure to fight against Draven.

"Hehe, brother Badur must have forgotten, the weapon is what we are betting on, you can’t use it in this spar" at the side the elder swordhand laughed bitterly.

"Eh? Why not? It’s still my weapon, after all. Using it is only natural? Or does the elder here want to bully me and stop me from using my own property?" Leon squinted his brows as If confused.

"Ehhhh, you.....know this is not fair" the elder complained. How could Leon be allowed to use a grade 3 magic treasure against Draven? Wasn’t that overkill?

"How’s that? He has a grade 2 magic treasure coupled with him being a sky mage. But I am a nobody with no weapon except this one. Do you want me to fight with my bare hands, elder?" Leon countered with a very logical argument.

He was indeed in a disadvantageous situation here if you look at it from his point of view. The 30 sky mages was a citywide rank and was recognized genius, While Leon was just a genius of a mercenary company. They were different in terms of talent and recognition.

At least that’s how it would make sense to a common man.

"Hmp!!! No problem, Draven, catch." The elder swordhand sneered, then pushed a side of his robes back, revealing a sword at his side. The sword was while as soon having no inkling of dirt.

—woosh

In front of everyone’s eyes, the sword flew through the air and landed In Draven’s hand.

"Really??!!" Draven frowned, but this expression later slowly morphed to one of excitement. His master had just handed him his grade 3 weapon.

Pure water jade.

This was a weapon he would use in fighting against other level 3 existences. Handing it to him was a massive show of trust.

"It’s even now," the elder swordhand smirked and folded his swordhand under his normal one.

"Good, now let’s begin" Leon smiled, a chance to test how good this weapon would be against another of the same level, Leon couldn’t ask for more.

Leon untied his kimono revealing a tightly fitted piece of black battle amour made from leather. And metal.

Then he attached two sides of the chains bounded to the dagger to a handle on his waist.

"This....." The elder swordhand frowned. Did Leon come here prepared for a fight or something?

"Are you done?" Draven didn’t think much to it though, he saw Leon getting prepared and couldn’t help but chuckle, it looked so cringe. Was this some sort of power up ritual?

"Yes, we can begin" a second later, Leon nodded before throwing the dagger in his left hand outwards.

"Hm!!" It coiled forward with the chain attached to, moving directly for Draven’s face. But it was simply blocked with but a wave of the sword.

—Boom!!

Unfortunately, he didn’t expect for Leon to be right behind the flying dagger, he had used the momentum of the flying dagger to pulled himself toward his target.

It was a double layered attack

—Slash!!

In but a flash, Leon sent his second dagger slashing toward Dravens chest. And it worked.

"Arrgggg" with that simple trick, Draven was hit and moved back involuntarily while holding his sword in a defensive position.

He couldn’t let Leon attack him again, his eyes had to stay glued. But of course, once again, he had made another mistake because....

—wooooo

He had forgotten about the dagger Leon flung from the very beginning, it was rushing towards him.

This was the magic of Leon’s magic treasure. In the hands of someone skilled, it was like a barrage of attacks raining from everywhere. And extension, if you’d call it that.

With Leon’s treasure constantly bouncing around the room, Draven was placed off edge. Desperately trying to get on his feet.

(I need to get myself out of this)

Draven mused while firmly gripping the pure water jade sword. Even with the attacks coming from everywhere, he firmly believed that he could win. He just needed to activate a spell, and it would be amplified by several folds, allowing him to distract Leon long enough for him to make a move.

As for which spell he was going to you….there was none better than a sacred grade spell.

Water work: Sacred Water Spring

Draven announced and all of a sudden, a section of the water from the waterfall began to change color and were being attached to his feet.

The range was bigger and the mana was more refined and eloquent. With a single Slash, he could cut through a brick wall, talk less of Leon.

However, the prerequisite for this was for him to successfully activate the spell, but in the last minute

"Nova Daze"

A subtle voice resounded from Leon’s lips. It was heard by a few, but what followed these words was the prompt deactivation of Draven’s spell.

"What the hell???"

The crowd was stunned, Draven looked frightened as he immediately let go of his sword and screamed.

"Monster!!!!!!!"

He pointed at Leon with fear, meanwhile Leon walked slowly towards him. Other than himself and Leon, no one here could see it, but what stood before Draven was a creature the likes of an abssyal dragon-snake with eyes radiating blue light.

Leon had just used the nova daze spell to pull Draven into an illusion. The worst thing to happen in any fight was to go against an illusion user without knowing what they were.

" He almost pissed his pants" Leon smirked and crouched next to Draven. There and then he grabbed a medallion from his neck and ripped it off.

"You don’t deserve this," Leon whispered.....

—woosh

In that split second, a spear bathed in light flew forwards towards Leon from the back.

(Good)

Leon smirked and promptly dodged, then it appeared again before Leon could even get himself.

—Clang.

In but a few seconds, an exchange happened that saw Leon defending himself.

"This belongs to us" with a smile on the face Leon’s assailant said dangling a medallion before him.

He had taken the sky medallion from Leon during their exchange.

"Hehe, that’s the spirit, a true blooded warrior, not some sappy want to be that prides himself with the spells he can use. Great job!!" Leon smiled then stood up ready to attack.

"That’s enough!!!" A monstrous Roar resounded, forcing both Leon and his assailant to pause.

Elder Swordhand had interfered.

"You won, take your treasure and leave" with some annoyance the elder waved his hand at Leon.

During the battle his heart was beating wildly, especially when his apprentice seemingly lost his mind. He couldn’t even move, but in the last minute, Carlson made a move to collect the medallion.

If it had fallen into Leon’s hands, it would be a disaster that even he couldn’t curb. The whole household might even turn on him.

"He’s much more deserving of being a member of the 30 sky mages than this good for nothing. Don’t be nepotic" Leon smiled and sheathed the two daggers in his hands.

This entire thing was a ploy by him to place carlson in a favorable situation. Saving the sky medallion and defending the dignity of the clan by fighting Leon to a stand still.

There was no greater service and show of talent.

With this, Leon had shaken the waterway family up. He sowed distrust in the elder swordhand and pushed Carlson to the limelight.
