The sound of attacks flying resounded in a dimly lit hall, as a young man with a black sword could be seen fighting it out against an aged man with white hair and a massive helmet of his head.

"He’s not even holding back one bit" Beside Leon a lady with a white vail over her head stood. In her voice, was a tinge of dispise and annoyance.

She was the loyal type and seeing that the old man had defended them when the Lord was going to send them out, she believed that this blade Demon should at least take it easy on him.

In one word, she was naive. Or at least, she wasn’t getting the full picture.

The kid Infront of them would not let them stay without a good fight, they had to give that to him or else their entire Mission would be null and void.

"Die!!!" With a swing of his blade, the blade Demon sent a gust of wind towards the old man forcing him to go flying once again.

"We can’t afford to hold back though" Leon shook his head, at least the Blade Demon understood the circumstances. He would do what was necessary.

The strongest persons in this room was actually on Leon’s side but none of these guys knew as their most powerful person was just at the peak of level 2

And it was none other than the Lord Alvin.

For a kid, he was very gifted, but his attitude was just so, so....

"Good, good, good. Cut his arm off!!!!" At the helm of the hall, the Lord of the faystone family household Alvin went insane with excitement.

The fight brought him alot of joy, ever since his dad died. He had been burdened with so much " responsibility" times like these give him the most joy.

" I give up" finally after a while, the old man give up on the fight and bowed his head to the blade Demon.

This fight was unnecessary, but you didn’t want to Bow his head his ungrateful nephew. However reality was cruel and nothing he could do who Savage the situation.

"Hehe, good.....now lock him up in the dungeon for losing face to outsiders" with a look of satisfaction on his face, the young Lord spoke up.

It didn’t sing like it, but the old man has been a thron in his Side for a very long time. He wanted revenge, but he was just too cautious and would often avoid the young Lord standing guard at the gates.

Today you had made a mistake and the young Lord will punish him for that. All thanks to Leon and his friends.

"Let’s go"

Soon, armed guards appeared beside the old man and chained him up before leading him out of the hall. That was it for him.

"So, you guys....have come to serve our ancestor in his duties" with a sly smirk on his face the young lord said.

He didn’t know why people would do something are stupid as coming to serve a non-existent course. This was his great ancestor, and even he didn’t care much for this folklore. Why would others?

"Yes sire, the tales of the great vlad faystone has echoed through our hearts for the longest times. We would like to serve this ancient tradition.....like a pilgrimage if you may" leon stepped forward and explained.

Of course he was lying, they went here for all that. They were actually here, to kill his ancient ancestor. It seemed absurd, most of them didn’t even know he was still alive talk less of someone coming to assassinate him.

"Hehe, okay.....I’ll show you your duties while you stay here" with a big grin on his face. The young lord stood up and walked forward from his chair.

"Ahh?" as a kid walked towards a Leon a frown appeared on his face.

This kid looked thoroughly like a 6-year-old. But the closer he came the taller he became. 𝔫𝔬𝖛𝖕𝔲𝖇.𝖈𝖔𝖒

(He’s my height? Why does he look like that though?)

Lyon couldn’t help but ponder why this was , even though, he tried to hide the shock it was evident in his expression.

"Let’s go" the kid smirked and walked forward towards the door and behind him the men of the household followed closely behind.

Meanwhile, in the Deep dark forests that was the faystone family household. The massive figure of a pale giant could be observed attached to a network of tree vines.

They intertwined through themselves and around him, holding him in place. It was tight very tight, but there was just enough space for him to wiggle around.

Years of hibernation, in and out, it had I stayed alive or so long, living through the ages. It was a painful existence, what is fear of death far out weed this pain. It will do anything to keep on living.

"It’s that time of the year once again" the creature struggled to speak while looking into the distance.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"So basically, you’ll be incharge of cleaning this stable and taking the horses out for rides once in a while to to Patrol the area." inside a small stable not too far from the main house.

The Lord Alvin showed Leon and the rest around and told them about their responsibilities.

"But for now, please focus on taking care of the horses.... Patrol duties will be shuffled around soon and you’ll get positioned" the young lord explained.

These guys had just gotten here, they still needed to see who they were and to make sure they had good intentions before letting them Roam around the household.

Plus, this time of year was a bit dangerous.

"Hmm" his words weren’t met kindly by the guys with Leon. They were procedures members of the faceless mercenary company, they even had two "honored" amongst them. A title that wasn’t given out randomly.

How could they clean up after horses? the disrespect was too much.

"We respect your decision, lord faystone" Leon smiled at the young lord.

It wasn’t that disrespectful to clean up to stables. The main issue now was there were too many eyes on them. They couldn’t go out to look for their targets.

They didn’t have much time though, a day spent here doing nothing, was a day where the Sorcerer could we wreck havoc int duan City. This would in turn draw the attention of too many people.

If the Royalty found out, the faceless mercenary company would be in a lot of trouble.

"Good, then I’ll leave it to you." the young lord said while staring at Leon intensely. Leon didn’t look like it, but he could feel that Leon was a battle Maniac.

But it would be too rude to ask him to fight a day after he got here. He will take his time then have his fill in battle.

"Relax, we will take you slowly" while watching the young Lord leave Leon his comrades down.

If not for the royal family, with the people they had here they could easily run suck this whole place. However they had to be cautious they had to be their time. When they finally get the where about of the ancestor vlad, they would spring into action.

All they needed was time

Inside of a particular restaurant not too far away from, the faystone household. A man in his early 30s could be seen having a meal in an Undisclosed restaurant.

While he did so, an aged individual appeared outside the restaurants and looked inside.

"I knew it," after confirming who was inside the restaurant, the aged individual slowly made his way into it and took a seat right next to him.

"What are you doing here brother Damien?" after taking a seat next to the Middle ageet man. The aged individual asked.

He was going about his daily business when he noticed a strange fluctuation of energy. This energy belong to a level 4 mage.

This wasn’t normal, he knew all the level four mages in the vicinity. They didn’t just spring up. It had to be someone he knew so he went to check it out. And truly it was.....the man in his early 30s wad non other than Damian.

"What? Can’t I come to the central City anymore?" Damian asked.

He was one of the strongest set of people in the city, a great mage, how could there be a place he wasn’t welcome in duan city?

"Hehe that’s not what I meant" the aged individual smiled.

"Oh yes by the way, what happened with the faceless mercenary company? Are you planning to shut it down?" after a brief pause the aged individual asked.

In ancient times they weren’t a lot of level four mages so they created factions and organizations to support their powers.

But now with so many, powers weren’t needed. It was just a thing of tradition, shutting down a massive organization like the faceless mercenary company was not out of the power of a great mage.

He could afford to do it and no one would question him other than his subordinates
