"Faster faster!!!!"

—woosh

The silhouettes of two individuals flashing through the dense forest that was the faystone household.

—Roar!!!!!

Behind them a 7ft humanoid monster chased them with all its might seeking to eat them alive.

This wasn’t actually normal because, even though it had morphed into a nearly inhuman form, it still maintained a small portion of its human thinking faculty. This was how it knew to avoid the hunting expeditions being held by his descendants throughout the generations.

But there was something about these two that played with its mind. They made its primal instincts to take control forcing him to chase them like an aggrieved monster.

It didn’t know this, but this was the effect of Arian’s special skill, prideful heart.

It stimulated his beastly side’s territorial instincts of pride. It wouldn’t let Arian go so easily.

"Keep it running until the sorcerer gets here, and don’t worry, I won’t let him catch up" on Arians back Leon spoke in a hurried tone.

He could feel that Arian was shaken by the faystone ancestor. It took alot for her to use this skill constantly while facing the anger of this monster.

"Badur’s gate: negative extermination light"

Leon opened Badur’s Gate again and let out a beam of light forcing the faystone ancestor to dodge.

(6 more times then I’m done, this isn’t good)

Leon said to himself, the negative extermination light skill he had used consumed alot of negative energy. And it wasn’t like one could just come up on negative energy in the air. He needed to actively look for it and refine.

If Leon didn’t watch his usage he might just die during this chase.

(Where is the old fool?) Leon gritted his teeth and looked to the sky. If the sorcerer didn’t appear soon, there would be big trouble.

Not far away from Leon’s location.

"Arrgggg" with a groan of pain, the blade demon was pushed back. His right wrist had been severed off completely.

"Where is the boy!!!" In front of him the young lord of the faystone family stoic with a look of battle thrill.

The blade Demon had surprisingly given him a good fight. But at the end of the day, he was just so and so in his opinion. He really wanted yo hash it out with Leon himself.

"What are you doing? Help me!!" With a pained expression on his face the blade Demon requested.

He had just lost his right hand and his backup was busy standing by the side doing nothing. There was nothing more frustrating than this.

"Shut up!! Something big is coming this way" with a sneer the vailed lady looked at the blade Demon with the side of her eyes before panning her eyes back to the dark part of the forest.

She had taken down the men of the faystone household. But before she could even think of helping the blade Demon she felt a surge of energy rushing towards them forcing her to look over.

—Roar!!!!!!

In the depths of the forest, Leon and Arian were quickly making their way towards the vailed lady and the blade Demon’s location.

"Hm? What the....." with a frown on his face the young lord looked over at the same direction. He could feel something strangely familiar rushing towards them....

"Brace yourselves!!" Soon Leon emerged from deep inside the forest along side Arian. The right behind them was monsterous humanoid creatures with eyes burning with a crimson light.

"Barrier Area: Fortress wall"

The vailed lady floated into the air immediately and casted a spell, all of a sudden a metaphysical wall made from nothing appeared just behind Leon and Arian. Creating a barrier between them and the monsterous creature.

But this wouldn’t hold back the creature at all, because as soon as it arrive before this wall.

—Boom!!!!!!!!

He smashed it apart with his body effortlessly.

"That peak level 3 strength. This isn’t good, we’ve been given bad information" gritting her Teeth, the vailed lady took a step back and took off her vail.

"Vail of Trakin"

As she pulled off the vail she Magically flung it at the faystone ancestor and it seamlessly wrapped around his body restricting his movements.

"That won’t hold forever, but it will buy some time for us" she said

"You better leave kid, else you’ll just die" the now unveiled faceless mercenary looked over at the young lord and advised.

In the brief moment between when the faystone ancestor appeared and when she managed to trap him. She had shown two things.

This wasn’t a battle for level 2 magic users, and Leon’s team was not as weak as he thought. They had two level 3 mages at least.

It became clear to him that whatever was going on here was out of his league.

—woosh

Arian landed beside them then let leon stand on his own.

"How long will it hold?" Leon asked the now unveiled faceless mercenary.

"It’s a grade 3 weapon.....but given his strength I’d say 30 minutes" she responded quite confidently.

This treasure had been given to her by her teacher Damien, there was no way in hell that it could break so easily.

—roarrrr!!!!

But reality proved otherwise as before her very eyes the vail began to tear slowly, causing her to frown.

"Ehhh, maybe we should leave right now..." with a look of annoyance on her face she suggested to Leon.

"Sigh!!!, there’s no need, he’s here already." Leon after a brief moment sighed in relief.

—Boom

The figure of a man in his early twenties landed right before them, radiating a special glow.

"You did well kid, now get your subordinates ready, we’ll kill him togather" the man said while staring at the struggling ancestor faystone.

The sorcerer had arrived

"Okay, Arian, deactivate prideful heart. Jade, help us.....we’ll keep the bastard at bay so he can execute him" Leon commanded.

They would still play the facade of helping the sorcerer until Damien gets here, then and only then would they be able to say the mission had been accomplished.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Meanwhile,

" I still think it would be the best outcome if you joined the royal tardis" on top the roof of a building towering over the central City area. Two men sat looking over the city.

"If only to keep your family bloodline safe, I think you should....." one of the men was old, with gray hair all over his head.

"Ohh, so you know about that....." The other man frowned.

He had a daughter, no one actually knew this except for a selected few. Among every reason he had to not let the royalty know about his mistake, this was the biggest one.

He wanted to keep his daughter out of the hands of the sick royals.

If they found out that the faceless mercenary company that refused to join the royal tardis released a threat on the Kingdom, they would immediately set out to turn the company on its head.

That would happen even if he joined them later on.

"Damien, this is for the best....you never know what will happen in the next minute...you have liver your life for the faceless mercenary company now its time to think for yourself" the aged man advised.

With the war that was about to break loose with the warlocks, alot of organizations would fall. He couldn’t protect everyone, but joining the tardis would help him protect the few he could.

"No thanks, everything will happen according to fate"

He really disliked the royals and the way they did things so there was no way in hell he would work with them. Even if he was forced to.....

While he sat there, a message arrive through a silent energy fluctuation.

(Ohhh? He has appeared)

The great mage damien smiled. From when he was a kid on the streets till now he had been taken care off by the faceless mercenary company. Now when they were in a dangerous situation like this, he would give them his all.

"I’ll see you later friend" Damien said causally before slowly raising into the air, then blasting off in a random direction.

"He refused again?"

As soon as he left, a voice sounded not too far away from the aged man.

"I’m afraid he’ll never join" the aged man responded as a figure draped in a golden yellow robe appeared from out of nowhere.

This person was a royal of the Duan royal family. Normally they wouldn’t step out of the Palace in such a trying time, but the prospect of gaining another level 4 mage was something important.

Right now, more than half the kingdom’s forces had dedicated themselves to protecting the royal family....but they still needed as much help as they could.

Especially from great mages. These guys were the backbones of their societies.

—pup

While standing behind the aged man, the royal took out a wooden flask and uncorked it.

Soon its fragrance filled the air then he proceeded to sit right where Damien had sat a few minutes ago.

"He will give in sooner or later" the royal Said with a sick twisted look on his face.

He seemed to know something no one else did.
