"Hell!!! These guys really went this far?" While holding the limp body of Leon on his shoulder, the short young man complained seriously.

He didn’t know what to do, just now Leon had been hit by the spell silent breeze arrows and he didn’t know if he was dead or not. It was not only surprising, it was worrisome.

Leon was a level 3 warlock, his death wasn’t something he could just right off. Chances of even him getting out of here was low if thw assassin was this powerful.

"Hm? Wait a minute..." after scanning through the environment for a way out, the young man’s eyes landed on the carrige he had just jumped from and frowned deeply.

Inside the carrige Arian and Ember could be seen looking at the whole scene with amusement. These were Leon’s companions, why were they not moved by his demise?

In that moment of realization, the young man felt the burden of Leon’s body lighten. As he slowly dropped his feet on the ground beside the young man. The young man was pretty short so this was possible.

"You’re alive?" The short young man said in disbelief. He saw the attack land and saw Leon fall from his sit onto the horse infront of him..but Leon was alive.

"Hehe, it’ll take alot more to kill me" Leon smirked.....then turned to the mounted individuals in the front.

"Peak of level 2 huh" Leon said loudly while looking nonchalantly at them. It wasn’t clear whom he was referring to as there were a three peak level 2 fighters here and two were really young.

There was Aron, the so called 4th division captain of the of the Blackwater gang. Then there was the assassin whom had just attacked Leon.

Last but not the least was the short young man who was following Leon.

They were true talents.

"Hmp!! You survived? So what? I’ll just have to try harder" the assassin sneered at Leon . He kind of new that it was too good to be true as Aron had paid him a massive amount for this job from the onset.

"No wait," but before the assassin could make a move, Aron stepped forward to stop him in his tracks.

"You were able to survive this attack because you are strong. Luck definitely has nothing to do with. I believe the strong should be honored....just apologise to my big brother and come work for us for 3 years then we will let this go" Aron proposed.

Someone able to survive the attack from a blackwhisper assassin was definitely not ordinary. he couldn’t see Leone power level, but could see the power level of the guy beside him.....so he assumed that Leon was probably weaker.

"Ah? 3 years? That’s absurd!!!" Leon was flabbergasted and didn’t know when he spoke out loud for them all to hear. But really, this guy expected them to work for free, for 3 years? Where did his confidence come from?.

"3 years is just time, would you rather lose all your time on this earth?" This time it was Zane who spoke. He could understand his brothers thoughts, there was no reason to kill Leon if they could use him.

fact, while they were under him, he could use Leon to get back at the girl who had truly harmed him.

(Just you wait bitch, I’ll have a little fun time with you hehe)

Zane thought in his mind

"Hmmm, not interested" after a brief sigh Leon spoke flatly and suddenly started forward.

This caught them off guard for a second....but even their confusion couldn’t prepare them for what was going to happen next.

—woo

Right before their eyes, Leon slowly floated into the sky and towered over them.

Flight!!!!

The sign of a level 3 magic user.

"Noo that can’t....." Zane, Aron and the assassin looked up at Leon with eyes filled with shock and disbelief.

Leon could fly!!!! This was unbelievable, they had gone to offend a level 3 magic user?

"Now tell me, Do you guys still want me to serve under you for 3 years?" Leon looked down on them and asked.

"I....noo...." to which they responded with stammers and mutters of fear and shock. Did they dare? Take a level 3 warlock as a subordinate? They wished that they had this kind of strength.

"Good, now get out of the way" Leon smirked and shooed them away. He kind of liked the fact that he could menace people weaker than him.

With great strength comes great responsibility, how you respond to the " responsibility" was but a matter of choice.

"Wait a minute....."

Just as Leon was about to descend to the floor he heard a voice that made him pause.

"Yes?" Leon looked back with a frown.

"We would appreciate it, if sir comes under us for 3 months instead" Aron said flatly forcing everyone here to freeze in shock.

Aron had just requested a level 3 warlock become his subordinate? Was he out of his mind?

"Ohhh, I assume this is your opinion too?" Instead of Leon to speak to Aron this time he looked up at the sky where the sun blazed.

Soon a shadow materialised from the sky and slowly descended towards them.

,Yes, what of it?" The figure belonged to a man who seemed to be in his early 30s. He Wasn’t so old for a level 3 mage, he was clearly a talent.

"What gives you the confidence?" Leon asked. This guy was clearly the backer of Zane and Aron.....when they had given up he had insisted they make the request. Because even though they were scared of Leon. He wasn’t.

"What else other than power?" The man said following which a small explosion erupted from his person as he was soon engulfed in mana.

—Boom

Middle stage level 3.

"I see" Leon nodded his head.

Strength!! The only way to get what you want in this life no matter how absurd. He was at the middle stages of level 3 and Leon was at the beginner stage....naturally he had the upper hand.

"I won’t go without a fight though...." Leon shook his head and added.

No one in their right mind would give up their freedom without a fight. It was stupid.

"I will accompany you" the man understood this too so he was ready to fight Leon from the very beginning. Not because of his good for nothing sons.

No, he wanted Leon to join the blackwater gang as the 2 division commander, another level 3 fighter was always a good addition. All he needed to do was beat him.

"BloodSerpent work: Blood extensions"

"BloodSerpent work: Blood shields"

"BloodSerpent work: BloodSerpent arrows"

.

Leon activated a bunch of level 2 spells he had gotten from Liana and soon he was covered in spells. The BloodSerpent warrior set.

It’s combination output was 100% stronger than any grade 2 spell Leon could think of. Even stronger than mythic spells.

But would it do well in a level 3 fight?

"You’re new I see...no worries, I’ll show you the ropes after I beat you" the man said to Leon.

This wasn’t elodria where warlocks were discriminated against in every corner. Here, they were more tamed about it.....he even knew a thing or two about warlocks and their spells.

"You can try" Leon said and In the next second the man blasted forward with blinding speed aiming for Leon’s lower abdomen.

A cheap shot from someone of a higher realm was in one word "disgraceful" however, it was normal.

After all, this wasn’t a spar. The guy was genuinely trying to beat Leon into submission.

—ding!! 𝓃𝓸𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶

His leg landed on Leon’s blood shield though, causing him to bounce back.

The BloodSerpent warrior set could be stacked and depending on how much life energy and power placed into it, it could take a level 3 attack head on.

Leon who was now a level 3 mage was able to easily tank the attack with his life energy concentration.

But we’re battles between level 3 existence so easy?

"Water work: blackwater torrent"

The man streched his hand to the sky mid flight and a magic Circle appeared and rained down black inky arrows at Leon with a furiousity that caught Leon off guard.

—woosh

With his blood shields blocking his head Leon dashed out from the range of arrows hoping to avoid them.

But this was what his opponent wanted. While Leon dodged with his shield up, the man appeared in the direction Leon was flying to and slashed forward cutting at him with a furious speed.

"Shit, this guy is good" Leon couldn’t help but admire. It seemed like this man’s battle awareness was tip notch.

"But I’m better" Leon smirked and separated the shield into two and blocked on both sides.

(If I can upgrade this spell it will be of serious help)

Leon thought to himself, he really liked the versatility of the blood serpent warrior set.

"But this is not the time for that, let’s get serious"

Leon said slowly

"BloodSerpent site: Blood and serpent shrine"
