"Oh no" Leon sat infront of an old lady with a hunched back with a look of disbelief and shock on his face.

"Hehe, you’re not that bright huh? Why do you think the guys on the second floor were in such a hurry to follow you?" The lady smiled bitterly. .

Those guys on the second level, just like them were trapped. Yes, they couldn’t leave the second level even if they wanted. They could only go down and hope for the best.

"I guess so" Leon said in a daze, he was admitting that his decision to enter here without thoroughly investigating what it was, was a stupid move.

From what the old lady said, she had been trapped in this place for a few decades. That was longer than Leon’s body had been around for, she couldn’t get out she couldn’t advance to a lower floor. All the knowledge she had acquired was for what? She couldn’t even use them.

In other words Leon was fucked. This place was a massive trap and Leon fell right into it.

"Hehe, though you’re not completely lost....we hear whispers and murmurs through the walls....is it true? Is there a war coming?" the lady looked Leon dead in the eyes causing him to be startled.

She had gray hair on her head and eyebrows denoting that she was incredibly old, but when she asked this question, her eyes shone with a special youthful glow that shook Leon to the core.

She was happy about the war? That sounded crazy, but when you think of it... it made sense. If the war were to erupted, it would definitely affect the library, burned down or destroyed it would give them a chance to escape.

There was nothing these guys wanted more than to leave this god forsaken library.

"Hmmm, it has started I see....." at the very top of the library the level 5 existence with the third eye mused while looking up.

The battle outside the city had begun, it was only a matter of time before they got here. He had to begin his preparations now.

"I guess I’ll just have to get on with it" the bald level 5 existence smiled evily then streched his hand forward—

As he did so, several strange symbols began to form on the shelfs of the library from the 2nd follow to the 3rd. These symbols were old and ancient and typically couldn’t be recognised by anyone of this era

But Leon recognised it....this was fu shu scripture...not just any random one, this was specifically one meant for sacrifices.

Yes, the level 5 existence was planning to sacrifice everyone here to refine the treasure at the fourth level. This had always been his plan....

"Hmmm, brace yourselves. We might have to fight our way out of here" While the people on the first level were puzzled by this sudden change. Arian spoke softly behind Ember and the rest.

She had noticed the massive influx of monks coming from the levels below, apparently they were the subordinates of the existence In the top floor. As for why they were gathering here? She didn’t know.

But they had to get ready for anything.

"Right" Ember pulled out a scythe from her sleeve and her eyes sparked with a cyan coloured flame.

"Zane and Aron.....stay right beside me and don’t get separated" Ben Yoel directed his two sons. He brought them into this mess, he would have to take them out of it.

Outside the city.

"Fall back and form defence formation" the sound of a terrified soldier resounded from Within the battlefield.

All 15,000 of them has laid seige on the city with hope to cut through the defending army like butter, but reality was quite different from what they had thought.

The men on the Dukes side were absolute monsters. Even though they outnumbered them 3:1 the dragon berserker brigade was able to constantly push them back with brutal force force an tactics.

It was shameful.

"Fall back!!!!"

Taiwins men began falling back in a solid formation....but was this enough to stop the onslaught of the dragon berserker brigade?

"We can’t let this continue for much longer" at the camp of Taiwin, his voice could be heard with tinge of annoyance. He always knew that it wouldn’t be easy to fight and defeat his father.

The old bastard was just too scheming and conniving. Even he, his elderest son didn’t know that he had a secret army like this until today.

It showed the lengths the old man was willing to go, to maintain his power. Training a secret army for how long? He had seen this coming a mile away.

"We will need your help for this next step Sir Lightening monk" Taiwin looked to his side at a man beside him.

This man had a bald head with a scorched mark at the top of his head as if he had been struck by lightening. His build was also impressive as he looked like a battle hardened warrior with a gaze as sharp as blades.

"It no problem, that’s why I’m still here" the man nodded respectfully with no airs whatsoever.

He was called the lightening monk and was a young genius of the Undergod territory. Not too long ago he was about to embark on a long awaited journey but was called back by his masters to take care of a problem.

"Two of you, stop slacking and follow me. We are about to act" the Lightening Monk barked at his two individuals dressed similarly to him at the side.

"Ahhh? Yes big brother Shane" the two individuals stood up and bowed at the lightening monk.

These two guys...if the messengers from the blackwater gang were here, they would be able to recognise them as the ones that sailed past them back at the Undergod river forcing them to come all this way.

Yes, these guys were from the Undergod monastery. The top power of this territory.

Before Taiwins very eyes, the three monks flew into the air and flew towards the battle field until they were hovering over the dragon berserker brigade.

"Sigh, such a waste of bodies....these esscentric old bastards always cause trouble" the Lightening Monk shook his head with disappointment. These guys infront of him were actually victims of the mechanisations of an old monster.

It was sad to see things like these happen.....but it was out of his hands, he could only try his best to right some of this wrong.

"Lightening pulse"

With his hand streched outwards, the Lightening Monk pronounced. And from nowhere a ball of Lightening slowly formed in his palm.

There was no magic Circle, there was no accumulation of mana, or any type of energy. It just appeared as if from a decree from the heavens.

"Sigh" the Lightening Monk looked down at the army pushing each other and shook his head before dropping the lightening ball like a bomb

—creeeeeeeeeee

—Boom!!!!!!!!

Just like a bomb, when it landed it took with it half the men on the battlefield...including some of Taiwins men.

But majority was from the dragon brigades side.

"The other brother has a good handle on things on his side, take care of these guys here and storm the city as soon as possible. I will be waiting for your arrival"

Watching the Carnage under them the lightening monk commanded his two juniors before turning directly to the library of Xion and blasting towards it.

—Boom!!!

The wind rippled as he torn through it and moved past the wall. Even upon seeing this the Duke did nothing but snicker.

He couldn’t fight that guy even if he wanted to. He was out of his league.

—zoom!!!!!

As the lightening mage rushed towards the library, he streched his palm forward and before anyone knew it.

—Boom

He went right through....completely destroying the defenses of the library with one palm

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Hm?" Leon who was seated at the third floor snapped out of his state of meditation in the moment of impact.

The energy with which the lightening monk used to break through the defences of the library sent shock wave and residue everywhere.

"Somethings wrong" Leon frowned, but he had no say in what would happen next. As a hole appeared directly below him and sucked him downwards into an uncontrollable fall.

The lightening monk from the Undergod monastery hadn’t even arrived but his presence could already be felt.

—fuuuuuuu

—Boom!!!!

Sooner rather than later, the wall to the main library was broken through as well built man appeared above the pit in the main library.

"If you’re not affiliated with the old monster make your way out immediately" the Lightening Monk said without even paying mind to those around.

There were bound to be innocents here and he was sure that more than half of them would be caught in the crossfire of this battle.

He could only warn them, their ability to escape was slowly dependent on them.
