Chapter 104: Chapter 104: The Newly Purchased Pajamas
On the way back to Big Willow Tree from DANDY, Chen Jin asked Chen Cheng a question.
"Mr. Chen, don’t you feel that there’s something off about Li Hao?"
Sitting in the back seat, Chen Cheng pondered on his recent brief interaction with Li Hao and Su Liya.
He rested his chin on his hand, "As soon as we arrived, he said he was afraid Su Liya would get bored, so he accompanied her all the way."
"However, looking at the entire conversation, this foreign lady didn’t seem to show much interest, she even suggested going home herself," Chen Cheng continued.
Chen Jin laughed and shook his head, "Mr. Chen, your focus is really different from mine. To discover his own issues through the reaction of his companion, this move is quite interesting."
Chen Cheng turned his head, "So what did you see?"
"Not see, I smelled something."
Chen Cheng asked with interest, "What smell?"
"Leaves."
"Leaves?"
Chen Jin nodded, "Although Li Hao had a strong scent of cologne, people who smoke that stuff long-term invariably carry a certain odor."
"Moreover, the index and thumb on his right hand have conspicuous yellow stains," he continued, "This isn’t something you get from smoking cigarettes or cigars."
The wings of Chen Cheng’s nose twitched; he seemed to understand what Chen Jin was getting at.
Combining this with Li Hao’s own account of having studied in Canada, what Chen Jin said really did add up.
Chen Cheng, having always lived domestically, wasn’t familiar with this stuff and mistook it for a type of cologne scent.
"It seems I still have much to learn from Old Chen," Chen Cheng chuckled, "A few words and I’ve gained more knowledge."
Chen Jin smiled, but then his brow furrowed again, "Mr. Chen, I’ve thought of a problem."
"Go ahead."
"We’re fairly certain now that Su Liya is Wen Shulin’s daughter, and Wen Shulin’s patronage of Li Hao is probably because of this relationship."
He paused for a moment, "But does Wen Shulin know about her future son-in-law’s peculiar habits?"
"Moreover, this is not permitted in our country," Chen Jin continued, "If it gets out, it would disgrace both CGG and Wen Shulin."
Chen Cheng fell into deep thought; according to Chen Jin’s inference, Li Hao indeed was a ticking bomb planted next to Wen Shulin.
You never know when someone might ignite it.
And Wen Shulin, Chen Jin, and Jin Baogen are basically the same type of people.
They care about their absolute safety and check even the backgrounds of their playmates meticulously, let alone someone dating their daughter.
"Old Chen, the more you talk, the stranger this matter seems to me."
Chen Cheng straightened up, recalling carefully Su Liya’s expressions, "They say they are boyfriend and girlfriend, but it seems like there’s a lack of interaction typical of a couple?"
"Ha, ha ha."
Chen Jin laughed, "Mr. Chen, your perspective on observing people is indeed unique."
His eyes gleamed, "I have a bold conjecture."
"What?" Chen Cheng asked.
"Wen Shulin must have something in Li Hao’s hands."
Chen Jin openly said, "Otherwise, she wouldn’t go to such lengths, even involving her own daughter, just for this young man."
Chen Cheng unconsciously said, "She is CGG’s Wen Shulin, who would dare touch her!"
However, as soon as the words left his mouth, he realized something else.
In an afternoon chat with Wu Dongyi, the two speculated that Li Hao was funded into CGG, and from the current situation, what he has is definitely more than just money.
Chen Cheng threw the topic back to Chen Jin, "Old Chen, are you suggesting that Li Hao has a deeper background than Wen Shulin?"
Chen Jin nodded upon hearing this, "Li Hao might not be as simple as we perceive on the surface."
He pondered for a moment, then continued, "But in my impression, Li Hao does not seem to be someone’s son or grandson."
Chen Jin candidly laughed, "If he really had such a background, my first encounter with him wouldn’t have been through Wen Shulin’s introduction."
"We need to investigate further," said Chen Cheng softly.
"Seems like Mr. Chen is particularly concerned about Wen Shulin, or maybe that Su Liya?"
Chen Cheng, of course, couldn’t divulge the fact that he had been secretly photographed to the Chen Jin before him and said teasingly:
"Cough, that young man is so average-looking, not only does Wen Shulin fully support him, but he also scored such a beautiful foreign lady! Who wouldn’t be annoyed seeing that?"
"Hahaha..."
Chen Jin also knew that Chen Cheng wasn’t speaking seriously, but he said, "So Mr. Chen wants to try something fresh. I’ll set up a game tomorrow, and you should come join."
Chen Cheng looked at him with a face that wasn’t joking, "Alright, I’ll just wait for Lao Chen’s call."
The two chatted a bit more.
Chen Jin planned to inquire about this Li Hao’s background and discuss it further with Chen Cheng after their meeting at CGG tomorrow.
The car soon returned to Big Willow Tree.
After stopping in front of Fennel Noodle House, Chen Jin said to Chen Cheng, "Mr. Chen, don’t worry. I’ll have Li Hao’s information in your hands within two days at most."
Chen Cheng smiled, "Thanks for the hard work, Lao Chen."
"It’s nothing, we’re friends after all."
Chen Cheng got out of the car, and watched Bentley’s taillights disappear into the night before heading towards the noodle shop.
Rustle.
He opened the rolling shutter door.
As soon as he walked in, Xiao Meier called from upstairs, "Xiao Cheng, are you back?"
"Yes, Sister Meier." Chen Cheng looked up towards the dim light coming from the stairwell, "I thought you were asleep."
"Not yet."
Sounds of rustling and searching for something came from upstairs.
"Don’t come up yet," Xiao Meier said with a laugh.
Chen Cheng stood downstairs holding the handrail, "What’s going on?"
Xiao Meier didn’t answer.
Chen Cheng didn’t rush upstairs either.
After about three to five minutes, a delicate voice called, "Xiao Cheng, you can come up now."
Chen Cheng then took the steps upstairs.
What came into view was the white inside the black gauze.
She stood at the corner of the stairs, a black lace nightgown draped softly over her mature and voluptuous body.
The hem of the nightgown was not very long, about mid-thigh.
A lace belt of the same color tightly tied around her waist, accentuating her body curves perfectly, allowing a glimpse of enticing contours of her bosom.
"Sister Meier..." Chen Cheng was somewhat dumbstruck.
Xiao Meier looked up, her eyebrows and eyes carrying a hint of teasing.
"Xiao Cheng, this is a new nightgown I bought. Do you like it?"
Chen Cheng’s gaze wandered over Xiao Meier’s charming figure, seemingly spellbound for a moment.
He didn’t expect Sister Meier, whom he was used to seeing plain and unadorned, could also show another side, pampering herself to please others.
Xiao Meier leaned against the wall, her enchanting silhouette fully in view.
She toyed with the hem of her nightgown, occasionally revealing a stretch of creamy legs, stirring one’s emotions.
The atmosphere suddenly turned ambiguous and lingering.
The air was filled with an indescribable tension, captivating the heart.
"Sister Meier..." Chen Cheng was somewhat stiff, "What is this...?"
"Xiao Cheng, you haven’t answered me yet, do you like this nightgown?"
She tiptoed towards Chen Cheng in delicate steps.
The black lace nightgown swayed with grace on her body, her glances laden with allure.
Her fingers caressed his sturdy chest, "Why so silent?"
A separation that rekindles the relationship could perhaps best explain this moment.
Chen Cheng was nearly breathless.
He could distinctly smell the body fragrance emanating from Xiao Meier, along with the hot breath hitting his face.
"Sister Meier, are you..."
He didn’t finish his sentence before Xiao Meier sealed it with a kiss...
