Chapter 156: Chapter 151: Greedy Ghost, All for You
Daxing Airport.
Chen Cheng dragged his suitcase and held Xiao Meier’s hand, waiting for Wen Shulin.
Ever since leaving the house, Xiao Meier’s hand hadn’t loosened its grip, her gaze occasionally falling on Chen Cheng’s face, her eyes filled with deep affection and reluctance.
"Xiao Cheng, how long will it be before you can come back this time?" Xiao Meier’s voice carried a barely detectable tremble.
"Probably two or three days at most."
Xiao Meier bit her lip, trying hard to squeeze out a smile, but that smile was clearly laden with deep worry.
She clutched Chen Cheng’s hand tightly, as if the moment she let go, Chen Cheng would disappear.
At this moment, Wen Shulin hurried over.
She was alone, carrying just a bag.
Seeing Chen Cheng and Xiao Meier, she waved her hand.
"Sister Lin," Xiao Meier nodded and greeted.
Wen Shulin took off her sunglasses. Although she knew Xiao Meier would come to see Chen Cheng off, seeing their tightly clasped hands still made her heart a bit sour.
"Xiao Er, you arrived quite early," she smiled.
Xiao Meier linked arms with Chen Cheng, "Knowing that Xiao Cheng was leaving, I couldn’t sit still at home, so we came early."
"It’s okay, we’ll just be there for two or three days and then we’ll be back."
Chen Cheng: "See, isn’t that similar to what I said?"
Xiao Meier nodded, "Sister Lin, I have a favor to ask of you."
"Tell me, Xiao Er."
"After we get there, please help me keep an eye on Xiao Cheng." Xiao Meier let go of his hand, stepped forward, and said softly, "There are so many beauties in the big city, I’m worried he’ll be dazzled."
Wen Shulin couldn’t help but laugh, "Xiao Er, rest assured, with me there, he wouldn’t dare."
Chen Cheng also heard these words.
His heart was filled with delight.
"Sister Er, you really don’t trust me," he said.
Xiao Meier retorted with feigned annoyance, "How can I not be careful when you’re so likable?"
She straightened Chen Cheng’s collar, instructing:
"When you get there, don’t just drink, remember to eat."
"Also, if the weather is cool, I’ve prepared a coat for you, remember to wear it."
"And eat less raw and cold food, your stomach is sensitive, and with the seasons changing, if you’re not used to the local conditions..."
"Sister Er, I remember everything, you don’t need to worry too much."
Xiao Meier glared at him, "How can I not worry? My heart will be suspended the whole time you’re gone."
Wen Shulin added from the side, "Xiao Er, don’t worry, I will remind him."
Xiao Meier gratefully glanced at Wen Shulin and then turned her head to Chen Cheng, "Then give me a call when you arrive, just to let me know you’re safe."
Chen Cheng nodded, "Got it, Sister Er."
At this moment, the airport broadcast sounded, announcing the start of boarding.
Tears swirled in Xiao Meier’s eyes, but she forced herself not to let them fall: "Then you should go, take care on your way."
"Take care on your way back too. Xiao Hai is waiting outside the terminal," Chen Cheng hugged Xiao Meier.
"Got it."
Xiao Meier held onto Chen Cheng’s hand, "You must take good care of yourself, I’ll be waiting for you to come back."
"Okay."
After saying this, she released Chen Cheng’s hand and watched as he and Wen Shulin walked towards the boarding gate.
Xiao Meier stood still, gazing at their backs for a long time, until they disappeared into the crowd.
She took a deep breath, trying hard to calm her emotions, and then slowly walked towards the outside of the terminal.
Chen Donghai saw her come out and hurriedly opened the car door.
Xiao Meier was still somewhat downhearted.
"Sister Er, where shall we go now?" Chen Donghai asked.
Xiao Meier: "Let’s go buy some home appliances first! When Xiao Cheng comes back, he’ll see a different new home."
"Alright."
Chen Cheng and Wen Shulin, seated in the business class, hadn’t spoken, but they could see each other’s thoughts through their eyes.
"Miss Wen, hello. I am the chief attendant on this flight, welcome aboard."
A uniformed flight attendant squatted beside Wen Shulin.
"Our estimated flight time is two hours and five minutes. Once the plane reaches cruising altitude, we will serve beef noodles, curry..."
Wen Shulin raised her hand to interrupt, "Just give me a bottle of mineral water."
"Of course, Miss Wen." The chief attendant smiled, "Here are a new blanket and slippers, I wish you a pleasant journey."
Wen Shulin took off her high heels and holding the blanket, asked Chen Cheng, "Do you want it?"
Chen Cheng raised his eyebrows, "I’m quite warm!"
"How warm?" Wen Shulin reached out and touched Chen Cheng’s forehead, "It’s not even hot!"
"If it really were hot, then that would be the end of me." Chen Cheng took hold of Wen Shulin’s hand.
Wen Shulin naturally interlocked their fingers before covering them both with the blanket.
"I really wish we were already in the magic city," Wen Shulin whispered.
"You see, you’re impatient again."
Wen Shulin pouted, "Can I not be? Once we get there, you’ll be mine."
"That’s not a given." Chen Cheng joked.
"You!"
Wen Shulin lightly kicked Chen Cheng, but did not let go of his hand.
Chen Cheng patted his own thigh, and Wen Shulin, understanding the hint, laid her legs across his and leaned her head on Chen Cheng’s shoulder.
"My dear, after we land, I’ll take you to have crab roe noodles," she whispered in his ear.
Chen Cheng stroked those smooth and delicate legs, "You’re not in a hurry about that?"
"You need to be well-fed first, so you have strength," said Wen Shulin flirtatiously, "We have lots and lots of time."
She snuggled closer into Chen Cheng’s embrace, "And also, I still..."
"Miss Wen, here’s your water." The chief attendant inappropriately interrupted Wen Shulin’s romantic words.
Wen Shulin was about to return to normal but unexpectedly, Chen Cheng wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
She paused for a moment, then felt warmth in her heart.
"Thank you," Wen Shulin reached out and took the water.
"You’re welcome."
Chen Cheng said, "You seemed quite nervous just now?"
Wen Shulin unscrewed the cap and took a sip, "Not at all."
"Do you want a drink?" she asked.
Chen Cheng opened his mouth slightly.
Wen Shulin frowned at him but still brought the bottle of mineral water to Chen Cheng’s lips.
After taking a sip, Chen Cheng said, "So sweet!"
Wen Shulin giggled, "You always talk sweet nothings."
"Is my mouth sweet?" Chen Cheng turned his head toward her blazing red lips. 𝓃𝓸𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶
"We’re on a plane! I’ll let you taste after we disembark!"
It seemed Wen Shulin had truly found the sensation of being in love, as for the next seventy-plus hours, she was the only one by Chen Cheng’s side.
"Aren’t we having crab roe noodles after we disembark?" Chen Cheng pretended to ponder, "What should I eat with this mouth of mine?"
Wen Shulin bit her lower lip and looked at him with sultry eyes, "Greedy ghost, I’ll give you everything!"
"Ha ha ha..."
Wen Shulin took out a magazine that was just published today, Traveler, and leaned on Chen Cheng, "Read it with me."
"Okay."
"Palau, it seems quite nice. The scenery is really beautiful," Wen Shulin remarked while looking at the pictures.
Chen Cheng pinched the small hand beneath the blanket, "Any place you go to, that’s where the scenery is."
Wen Shulin turned her gaze back to him, couldn’t care less about disembarling now, and with her fair swan neck arched, she delivered the first kiss of this short journey.
She soothed Chen Cheng, while also reminding herself.
"Be good, don’t lure my soul away anymore."
