As if in response, a low rumble of thunder echoed. She looked up and noticed that, unlike yesterday, the lightning had not yet struck. The clouds were churning more violently than ever.

The thunder grew louder, and the sky darkened, as if a black cloth had been draped over it.
Fierce winds whipped around them, but the clouds and the lightning pillars remained unmoved. The air grew heavy with foreboding as the cloudsntined to amass and the rumblingntinued.
In the mortal realm sect, Muchen and Muyue who were practicing their martial arts in theurtyard suddenly stopped in their tracks. They clutched their chests, their hearts pounding erratically. They stared at the sky, fear creeping into their eyes.
