Chapter 109: 109, Tired of living (Third watch)_1
“Chengcheng, take a good rest first, mom’s here with you.” Seeing her son in this state, An Man’s hatred for Jian Qing was almost eating away at her sanity.
Xiang Cheng wore a blank expression and didn’t utter a word, which further worried An Man.
“Chengcheng, mom promises you, I will avenge you. Your father can’t come back from his business trip right now; he won’t be back until the day after tomorrow.” An Man gently stroked his disheveled hair as she spoke.
Upon hearing the word “revenge”, Xiang Cheng’s vacant eyes stirred.
Yes, he wanted revenge.
He wanted revenge against Jian Qing, that despicable woman who had reduced him to this state.
“Mom, the pills.” His parched, scratchy voice, hoarse from lack of water, was a bit harsh.
Seeing that he was finally willing to take his medication, An Man broke into a relieved smile and quickly fetched him water and pills.
After taking the pills, Xiang Cheng laid back down with great effort. His unfeeling arms caused veins to bulge on his forehead.
He closed his eyes to hide the bone-deep hatred in them and, under the influence of the medication, quickly fell into a deep sleep.
An Man watched him fall asleep before she moved to the next room to rest.
At midnight, the VIP ward floor was very quiet.
Two pairs of black boots moved quietly down the corridor, making no sound, and stopped outside a room at the end of the corridor.
One of the men skillfully unlocked the door. Inside, the room was dimly lit. They glanced at each other and their gazes fell on the person lying in the bed.
The shorter man took out a syringe and walked up to the bedside, expertly administering the injection.
The person on the bed furrowed his brows slightly before falling into a deep sleep.
As the other man glanced at the man on the bed, a look of disgust flashed across his eyes. Immediately, they lifted the man and quietly retreated from the room.
The door closed silently behind them. The bright moonlight flowed through the window, falling onto the empty bed, casting an air of loneliness.
This night was destined to be anything but peaceful.
Under the cover of night, two cars pulled into an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs. As soon as they stopped, Xiang Cheng was thrown out. The dose he was given wasn’t large and he had already awakened during the journey.
A scream echoed in the deserted warehouse. His forehead was bleeding and he instinctively wanted to hold it, only to remember the fact that his hands were useless.
“Who are you, daring to kidnap me? I’m from the An Family. If you dare harm a single hair of mine, the An Family will never let you off.”
Four men got out of the car, immediately filling the warehouse with a sense of oppression.
Dressed in black, cold, hostile.
Every gesture oozed lethal intimidation, engulfing the entire warehouse.
Xiang Cheng’s heart tightened; when he looked up and saw the four men getting out of the car, his eyes widened in shock.
“You…you…”
“Young Master Xiang, long time no see.” The slack voice sounded, one of the men waved towards Xiang Cheng with a grin.
“Yi Kai, why is it you guys? What are you planning to do by kidnapping me?” Xiang Cheng shouted.
Right, the four men standing before Xiang Cheng were none other than the Brain Trust.
Shen Hao, Yi Kai, Xiao Lu, Fu Heng.
Xiao Lu sneered, “Young Master Xiang, you really overestimate yourself. Kidnap you… huh.”
“What on earth do you want? I’m a member of the An Family. If you kidnap me and the An Family finds out, they won’t let you off.” Xiang Cheng’s face was ashen, his eyes glaring at them, “If you do such a thing behind Mr. Jing’s back, he won’t let you off either when he finds out.”
As if hearing the biggest joke, Yi Kai broke into hearty laughter, “I say, didn’t you get your head checked properly while you were at the hospital? Your IQ is truly worrying.”
“You…”
Shen Hao interrupted him, pointing at a car nearby, “Xiang Cheng, do you think we brought you here because we have nothing better to do?”
Xiang Cheng followed his finger and noticed a familiar black sports car.
As he looked closer and saw the symbol on the license plate, cold sweat broke out on his back.
Could it be…
Before he had time to react, the tightly shut car door opened. A black boot stepped out, revealing an impeccably handsome face under the gaze that followed it up.
Xiang Cheng’s eyes widened in shock, a sense of foreboding surged within him.
The silent night flowed on, splashes of moonlight cast fragmented shadows on his face. His flawless features and overpowering presence made him seem like a born king.
Shen Hao and the others looked at the stunned Xiang Cheng, their lips curling into a mocking smile.
When they learned what vile things Xiang Cheng had done, they realized that he’d truly tired of living.
Daring to use despicable means against their wife, he deserved to die a hundred times over. If he’d succeeded today, they guaranteed they wouldn’t have peacefully taken him from the hospital tonight.
The consequence would be their boss personally storming the hospital to perform surgery on him.
The thought sent chills down their spines.
