Chapter 139: 139, She is Also a Married Woman (2)_1
The car door opened, and a man in a high-end black suit stepped out, his stunning face standing out particularly.
“Why are you standing here in the sun?” Quan Jingwu walked over, looking at the flushed face in front of him, he frowned, “Your face is sunburned.”
The affectionate behavior of the two fell into the woman’s eyes, her beautiful eyes widened in disbelief, was she hallucinating?
“When did you come back?” Jian Qing looked up and gave a faint smile.
Quan Jingwu lightly touched her cheek with his finger, “I came back to have dinner with you.”
Seeing his assumed right to skip work, Jian Qing couldn’t help but chuckle, “Shen Hao and the others are probably going to cry.”
Quan Jingwu raised his eyebrows, unable to refute.
While the two were talking, the woman tried to sneak away quietly, but was discovered by Snowball.
“Woof–”
The woman stopped in her tracks, instinctively raising her hand to cover her face when she saw both of them looking over.
“Carry on, I’m just passing by, just passing by.”
Quan Jingwu was sizing up the woman in front of him, a teasing smile on his thin lips.
“It’s impressive that one can ‘pass by’ into Shijin Haoting, seems like the security here needs to be tightened.”
Lowering her head, sparks of anger flickered in the woman’s eyes.
“Snowball, go bring Security.”
As his words echoed once more, the woman could no longer remain composed, she hastily removed her mask and sunglasses.
Heck, her temper flared, having to put up with this brat.
“You little rascal, look who I am, can’t even recognize your own mother, are you asking for a beating?”
Removing her sunglasses and mask, the woman’s beautiful face was exposed to the sun, a pair of purple eyes similar to Quan Jingwu’s were aflame.
Jian Qing looked at the two familiar pairs of purple eyes and the face bearing some resemblance to Quan Jingwu’s and immediately understood who the person standing before her was.
“Mom, do mind your image, your future daughter-in-law is watching.” Quan Jingwu remarked casually towards his mother’s wrath.
At his words, the smile on Jian Qing’s face froze, and she suddenly felt the urge to punch the man next to her.
Seeing jian Qing, Rhee Holfit’s face immediately transformed, no longer the fiery look, but a soft and gentle smile.
She smoothed her hair, spoke softly, “Jian Qing, I apologize for the awkwardness earlier, I am Rhee Holfit, Jingwu’s mother.”
Jian Qing paused a moment, “Nice to meet you, I’m Jian Qing.”
“Mom, you might want to head back for now, it’s rare for dad to have a day off, better for you to head back and keep him company.” Quan Jingwu wrapped his arm around Jian Qing, lifted his eyes to his mother, and tactlessly hinted her to leave.
Jian Qing took a helpless look at him, subtly tugged at his sleeve, “Xiaojing.”
His single remark instantly relit the extinguished flame in Rhee, she glared fiercely at him, “You unfilial son, don’t even talk to me.”
Before she finished, Rhee quickly approached Jian Qing, “Jian Qing, as this is the first time I’m meeting you, let’s have a heart-to-heart chat and ignore this conscienceless rascal.”
Moving a bit too fast, Rhee didn’t notice the tiny pebble on the lawn, twisted her ankle, and grimaced in pain.
“Ouch–”
Upon seeing this, Jian Qing hurried over to help her, “Aunt, are you okay?”
Rhee steadied herself, her eyes meeting Jian Qing’s. She let out a sigh of relief, “No, girls really are considerate, unlike someone who doesn’t even approach to help when I’ve twisted my ankle.”
She sarcastically added, eyeing her own icy son from the corner of her eye.
Jian Qing was at a loss at the mother and son’s antics, she raised her head to look at Quan Jingwu and motioned for him to come over.
Quan Jingwu chuckled softly and walked over, “Mom, let me support you.”
“No need,” Rhee snorted dismissively and turned her head. “I prefer Jian Qing’s help. You can back off.”
Jian Qing held her silence amusedly, Rhee suddenly looked at her, and said with a beaming smile, “Jian Qing, I twisted my ankle. Can I rest for a bit at your place?”
Jian Qing lightly laughed, “Of course you can, let me assist you.”
As she watched the two go in, Quan Jingwu followed in tow with some things in his hand.
Helping Rhee to sit down in the living room, Jian Qing went to the kitchen to make tea. Quan Jingwu put down the things he had brought when he was about to go to the kitchen, but was called by Rhee.
Sitting across her, Quan Jingwu rubbed his temples, looking at his mother who seemed all set to gossip.
“Jingwu, this girl is pretty good, no wonder you always kept her hidden from us.”
Appearance, full marks.
Temperament, full marks.
Personality, while she still didn’t understand it completely, her first impression of Jian Qing was very good.
Quan Jingwu raised an eyebrow, “Dad is on his way to pick you up.”
“You…” Rhee’s face turned instantly black as she looked at him brokenheartedly, “Do you have a heart? I just want to get to know my future daughter-in-law, why are you so keen on sending me away?”
Just then, Jian Qing came out of the kitchen with tea. Quan Jingwu got up and immediately went to her, taking the cup from her hands with seamless ease. 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝔭𝔲𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪
“Be careful not to burn yourself.”
Jian Qing laughed softly, Rhee watched the carefulness of her son, her lips twitched viciously.
The old saying was indeed true, a son forgets his mom when he gets a wife. He never cared to ask if she was okay after twisting her ankle, he immediately ran to the maiden’s aid at the sight of her holding a quilt, clearly demonstrating preferential treatment.
“Aunt, do we need a doctor to check your foot?” Sitting next to Quan Jingwu, who was pulled in next to him, Jian Qing was feeling helpless under Rhee’s fiery gaze and quickly searched for a topic of conversation.
Rhee looked down at her foot and a numbing pain shot up as she moved slightly and took a sharp intake of breath.
She didn’t notice it much earlier, but now she probably sprained it.
“Let me check.”
Noticing the flash of pain on her face, Jian Qing rose and walked over to her. She crouched down and gently pulled up her trouser leg. A large red and swollen area on her fair skin looked gruesome.
She looked up at Quan Jingwu, “Xiaojing!”
With just that one look, Quan Jingwu understood her intention. Taking out his cell phone, he called Shen Hao to arrange for a doctor.
Jian Qing stood up, thought for a while, quickly walked to the kitchen and took out an ice pack.
“Aunt, you should put this on first.”
Rhee took it from her hands, smiling, “Finally, someone who cares for aunt.”
Hang up, pulling his wife back to his side to sit, “What do you want to eat for lunch? I’ll ask Qianshi Restaurant to deliver.”
“Your choice.” She was completely confident in his ability to order meals.
Looking at the two and their dynamic, Rhee’s eyes shimmered.
In no time, Quan Hao arrived. Seeing him, Rhee almost broke down in tears. Finally, she didn’t have to face her son’s cold face anymore.
She’s a married woman too.
“Ahao!” Rhee, standing on one foot, hopped towards him.
