Chapter 189: 189, Have less interaction with her (2)_1

She paused, a look of confusion passing over her delicate face. It was Xiaojing’s voice!

Following the sound, she stood at the corner, looking up to see Quan Jingwu and Quan Mingxuan standing on the terrace.

“Jingwu, those four men have regained consciousness and have been sent to the police station. How do you plan to deal with this?” Quan Mingxuan casually leaned against the railing on the terrace, asking.

Especially that man who almost caused our Aunt to tumble down the slope, even if Jingwu let him go, his uncle wouldn’t easily let it rest.

“Let them rot in jail.” Quan Jingwu’s purple eyes darkened, and just like that, within the tranquility, the fate of those four men had been sealed.

“As for the rest, you know.”

Quan Mingxuan had long guessed that this would be the outcome, a trace of resignation flashing in his eyes. In the end, those four were basically sentenced to life imprisonment, bound to spend their lives behind bars.

“Understood!”

A light bulb moment. Quan Mingxuan sidelong glanced at him, a teasing look on his face, “So you have nothing to say about Song Xirou staying for dinner tonight?”

Although his grandmother felt grateful towards Song Xirou for once saving her life, he simply didn’t like Song Xirou. The impression she gave him was – she was too pretentious!

Quan Jingwu looked at the time on his phone, guessing that his wife should be waking up soon.

The lack of a response from him prompted Quan Mingxuan to roll his eyes, “That Song Xirou is not as simple as she seems, it’s probably best if Jian Qing keeps an eye on her.”

Even though he felt that Song Xirou’s caliber was likely nowhere near Jian Qing’s, it was still better to be reminded just in case.

At the corner, the conversation between the two fell into her ears. Jian Qing curled her lips, lightly treading downstairs.

Upon descending, Rhee and others were in the living room, Song Xirou sat next to Granny Quan, she made Granny Quan burst into smiles with something she said.

“Qingqing, you’re awake?” Rhee turned his head, seeing Jian Qing standing in the stair doorway, the surprise evident in his voice.

At this, Song Xirou lifted her head to look at Jian Qing. As she noticed the slippers on her feet, she couldn’t help but recall that Jian Qing had stayed in Quan Jingwu’s room the entire afternoon.

“Come sit here, Qingqing!” Rhee pushed Quan Hao away with distaste, clearing a spot next to him for Jian Qing.

Jian Qing greeted the gentlemen and sat down next to him. “Auntie!”

“Qingqing, why didn’t you tell us about your injury? Does the wound on your hand still hurt?” A flicker of self-blame showed in Rhee’s eyes, and he reached out to lift Jian Qing’s sleeve to see her wound.

Jian Qing held his hand, smiling faintly, “Auntie, it’s nothing, just a small scraping, it’s going to be healed in a couple of days.”

“How can you say it’s just a small scraping? The doctor said that the skin on your elbow has been scraped off completely and bruises span all over your leg. How can it possibly heal in a few days?” Rhee protested.

“Qing darling, why don’t you stay at the mansion with Jingwu for a few days? That way we can take care of you and ensure your injuries heal faster.” Granny Quan suggested.

Before Jian Qing could even decline, Quan Yifei chimed in, “That’s right, Jian Qing, why don’t you stay here for a few days? Maybe we can even go shopping and play games together.”

She appreciated their kind intentions, but the thought of consuming therapeutic soups every day was somewhat frightening.

“Auntie, I appreciate your kindness, but it’s really not necessary.”

Just as Rhee was about to say something else, Quan Jingwu and Quan Mingxuan came down together.

A glimpse from her peripheral vision saw Song Xirou stealing glances at Quan Jingwu, and a sneer flashed in her eyes. Huh, she had a boyfriend, and she was ogling her Xiaojing – not appropriate, right?

“Why didn’t you wake me up when you woke up?” Quan Jingwu walked over to Jian Qing, pinching her cheek.

Jian Qing looked up at him, “You weren’t in the room when I woke up.”

His lips curled slightly, “Sit here.”

Having said this, he turned and headed towards the kitchen.

Jian Qing watched his retreating figure; as she shifted her gaze back, a voice sounded from the opposite side.

“Jian Qing, you and Jingwu seem to have a great relationship, it’s really enviable.” Song Xirou smiled sweetly and added, “I never thought Jingwu would commit so quickly after having known you for such a short time.”

Jian Qing looked up at her and after a moment, her lips curved upwards, “Miss Song, did you and your boyfriend get together after knowing each other for a long time?”

A flicker of unsteadiness flashed in Song Xirou’s eyes, but she kept the smile on her face, “Not exactly, we’ve known each other for over a year, but we haven’t been together for long.”

“Is that so?” Jian Qing chuckled, “Miss Song, you must have been missing your boyfriend since you returned to Beijing, right?”

Song Xirou’s face lit up with a broader smile, nodding shyly.

“Xirou, what does your boyfriend look like? Next time bring him over to meet us.” Quan Yifei suggested.

Song Xirou bit her lip, “We will see about that next time.”

At this moment, Quan Jingwu returned, holding a glass of milk in his hand.

“Drink some milk first, we’ll eat later.”

Rhee, being the understanding person he is, gave up his seat to his son and moved over to sit by his husband.

Jian Qing reached out and took the milk, all the while feeling slightly embarrassed as she noticed the multiple pairs of eyes watching her and Quan Jingwu.

“Drink it quick, it will get cold soon.” Quan Jingwu rubbed the top of her head, his large hand naturally going around her waist.

Jian Qing held the cup and sipped, and as soon as she finished, he took the empty cup and placed it aside.

On one hand, Song Xirou was chatting with Quan Yifei, but her gaze unconsciously floated towards the couple across from her. Seeing their intimate actions, the smile on her face almost fell.

“Jingwu, we were just discussing you and Qingqing staying at the mansion for a few more days so we can take better care of her.” Rhee brought up the conversation from earlier again.

Quan Jingwu lowered his eyes to look at the person next to him, his lips arching slightly. “There’s no need, I can take care of her.”

At Shijin Haoting, he can taste various meat soups anytime and anywhere, but staying here was too restrictive. There were just too many light bulbs (third wheels) around.

Seeing their son so non-cooperative, Rhee had no choice but to drop the persuasion attempt.

Throughout dinner, Song Xirou felt as if she was on the verge of losing her composure. Once the meal ended, she hastily made an excuse and left early.

Quan Yifei walked her to the door and watched her being picked up by the Song family’s driver before he returned.

“Second Brother, what are you doing here?”

Halfway back, Quan Mingxuan was seen blocking her way, prompting her to ask confusedly.

Quan Mingxuan, with his hands in his pockets, looked leisurely, “Did Song Xirou leave?”

“Yes, she left.” Quan Yifei nodded.

“Yifei, try to avoid her in the future.” Quan Mingxuan cut straight to the point.

Quan Yifei was taken aback, looking at him in confusion, “Second Brother, what do you mean by that? What’s wrong with Xirou?”

Could it be that Xirou had offended her second brother somehow?
