Chapter 214: 214, Photo Scandal (2) _1
The short man scratched his head in annoyance, opening his mouth to speak, “What do we do now?”
“What else can we do? We do as Miss Chu says. Don’t forget, technically, we work under Chu Group. If anything goes wrong, Miss Chu will be blamed, not us.” The tall man gathered his resolve, said firmly.
Humans die for wealth, and birds die for food. In any case, if they were asked, they would say it’s Chu Ruohan who ordered them to do so.
“Two million is not a small amount. We’ll split it in half when the time comes.”
The short man seemed to be persuaded. Looking at the check in the tall man’s hand, his vacillating heart immediately firmed up.
“Let’s do it. Worst case scenario, with this money in our hands, we can find other jobs.”
The two men, with an agreement and the check in their hands, happily left the cafe.
After leaving the cafe, Chu Ruohan drove straight to JK International.
Standing at the front desk in the lobby, a hint of impatience flashed in Chu Ruohan’s eyes.
“I’m sorry, Miss Chu, but without an appointment, you can’t go up.” The receptionist hung up the phone and told her politely.
Chu Ruohan’s face grew annoyed. “I have important business with Jingwu. Can you kindly make another call?”
“I’m sorry, the CEO has just left. Without an appointment, Mr. Shen said nobody is allowed to go up”, said the receptionist patiently.
Chu Ruohan looked at the bustling lobby and didn’t think it was appropriate to lose her temper here. She snorted and left.
Watching Chu Ruohan get into her car and leave, a group of receptionists gathered together.
“What’s so great about Miss Chu? She still didn’t get to see the CEO.”
“Exactly, she should give up already knowing that CEO has a girlfriend.”
“In my opinion, Jian Qing is hundred times prettier than her and doesn’t walk around with a high and mighty attitude like she does.”
After indulging in the gossip for a bit, they remembered the surveillance in the lobby, dispersed quickly and returned to their posts.
…
Qianshi Restaurant, Private room on the ninth floor
“Axuan, let’s head to Dihao tonight.” Having had his fill of food and drinks, Han Yue leaned back, looking deeply satisfied.
They both returned to A City early in the morning. Afraid of their families nagging, they spent the night at the Qianshi restaurant. They slept till noon before calling Quan Jingwu for lunch.
Quan Mingxuan took a sip of wine and gave him a side glance, “You go yourself. I need to head back home tonight. If I don’t, my parents might end up chopping me into little pieces.”
Upon hearing this, Han Yue’s complexion changed slightly, “If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have totally forgotten that my mother is returning from overseas tomorrow.”
“If your mother finds out that you’re fooling around all the time, I don’t think you’ll be able to save your legs,” Quan Mingxuan joked.
“We’re both in the same boat, there’s no need to mock each other.” Han Yue snorted while picking up his mobile to browse Facebook.
Quan Mingxuan looked at the man across him and asked, “Jingwu, are you going back to the mansion with Jian Qing today?”
“Axuan, isn’t that a redundant question? Jingwu, he…” Han Yue interrupted but stopped midway. Noticing something on his screen, his face changed.
“What…what’s going on?”
He straightened up, his fingers quickly scrolling the phone screen, eyes fixated on it.
Seeing Han Yue’s shocked expression, Quan Mingxuan teased, “Has your company gone bankrupt or the stock prices fell?”
Can’t he wish for something good to happen?
Han Yue’s cheek muscles twitched, and he spoke with a solemn demeanor, “Uh, Jingwu, there’s some news. Please stay calm.”
Quan Jingwu looked at him coldly, “Stop beating around the bush. Come out with it.”
“Yeah, stop creating unnecessary suspense.” Quan Mingxuan looked doubtfully at Han Yue, clueless about his antics.
Han Yue cleared his throat and tossed his phone to Quan Mingxuan, “See for yourself.”
Quan Mingxuan, was baffled at his actions, picked up the phone, took a glance and, realizing what’s going on, couldn’t help but curse, “Damn, what’s going on? Who’s behind this?”
He had just returned to Beijing and people were already stirring up trouble.
He looked up at Quan Jingwu, and for once, was at a loss for words.
“Jingwu, you better look at this yourself.”
As he spoke, he handed the phone to Jingwu.
The photos were too intimate. Jian Qing personally went to the airport to pick up a man they were obviously close, and she even brought him back to Shijin Haoting.
None of this mattered, what was important was that the man in the photos was indeed a man.
Even though half his face was veiled by sunglasses, it was still obvious that he was extremely handsome.
Quan Jingwu glanced at the contents of the post on Facebook. His handsome face sunk immediately. Looking at the hand on his wife’s shoulder, he felt a strong sense of discomfort.
“Jingwu, your wife seems to have a knack for making headlines!” Han Yue glanced at Quan Jingwu’s dark face, feeling a storm brewing inside.
Those pictures didn’t seem fake. Even though everyone knew Jian Qing and Jingwu were together, someone was daring enough to post these online, there must be someone pulling the strings behind all this.
Quan Jingwu’s violet eyes narrowed, a cold light flashed across them. He passed the mobile back to Han Yue, took out his phone and dialed Shen Hao’s number.
Over there, seeing the photos and news going viral online, their think tank was in uproar. Just when they could make sense of things, the Boss called.
“Boss!”
Hearing Shen Hao speak, the room suddenly went silent, all eyes on him.
Had the Boss seen the news as well?
“Shen Hao, find out who took those pictures and buy the newspaper company.” Quan Jingwu’s icy voice echoed through the room. Shen Hao switched on the speaker, and everyone in the room sensed danger.
“Yes, I’ll get on it right away, Boss. Should we handle those pictures and news reports as well?” With these final words, Shen Hao cautiously asked.
“No need to.”
Upon cutting the call, everyone remained baffled.
“What do you think? How could the mistress appear so intimately with another man?” Fu Heng speculated. Regardless of whether Boss would believe the reports, they wouldn’t believe a single word written on them.
“Only the Mistress can clear up this matter,” Xiao Lu offered.
Yi Kai stared at the pictures on Facebook, feeling oddly familiar with the man. He couldn’t recall where he had seen him before no matter how hard he thought.
Back in the private room, everyone fell silent.
Quan Mingxuan tapped lightly on the table and asked in confusion, “Jingwu, why didn’t you let Shen Hao handle those pictures and news reports?”
Though someone was deliberately stirring up trouble, in the end, these were still rumors, and they could tarnish Jian Qing’s reputation.
Quan Jingwu had a cold gleam in his eyes and his voice hinted at indulgence, “My sweetheart did it intentionally.”
Intentionally?
Han Yue and Quan Mingxuan glanced at each other, unable to comprehend the situation.
“So, you’re suggesting that Jian Qing knew someone was following her, and she intentionally let them take the pictures,” Quan Mingxuan guessed.
