Chapter 232: 232, We Need to Talk (2)_1

Chapter 232: 232, We Need to Talk (2)_1

From a great distance, Shen Hao felt a chill down his spine, his inner self wailing, “Madam, would you please answer the Boss’s call? If you don’t, we’ll all freeze to death from Boss’s icy demeanor.”

After this episode, Shen Hao was more sure that Jian Qing’s identity was not simple. Otherwise, Qiao Yu wouldn’t have been unable to find even a shred of information. Aside from knowing that Jian Qing and another person had taken a flight to M Country, they couldn’t trace any other clues. It was as if someone had purposely erased them.

“Knock, knock, knock-”

Someone was rapping insistently at the door: three knocks, then a pause. It was a regular pattern.

Shen Hao sighed in relief. If no one had come, he feared he would have been frostbitten by the Boss’s cold attitude.

Upon opening the door and seeing the visitor, Shen Hao’s expression turned serious.

“Colonel Ouyang!”

Outside the door, a man in a camouflage suit stood with his short hair neatly groomed. His angular, handsome face was impressive. His deep, dark eyes radiated wisdom, and an unmistakable military demeanor was present in every gesture and step he took.

Ouyang Yu, a renowned colonel in China.

Spying Shen Hao, a familiar face, Ouyang Yu unveiled a faint smile. “Shen Hao, long time no see.”

Shen Hao nodded with a smile, stepping aside to let him in.

“Colonel Ouyang, please come inside.”

Once inside, his sharp military instincts told him that something was amiss with the atmosphere.

He glanced around and immediately spotted the man standing in front of the bay window, which left him momentarily stunned.

“Colonel Ouyang!”

Shen Hao cleared his throat before calling out.

Only then did Ouyang Yu recover from his reverie. He laughed awkwardly and joined Shen Hao inside.

“Master Jingwu, we meet again!”

Ouyang Yu greeted, but his words were met with complete indifference.

Shen Hao rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on.

The Boss was in such a bad mood that he was even ignoring Colonel Ouyang.

How were they supposed to handle this?

Ouyang Yu looked at Shen Hao with confusion trying to communicate through their gazes.

After a pause, Shen Hao lowered his voice, “Colonel Ouyang, our Boss is in a bad mood right now. Please bear with him.”

Even if he couldn’t bear with it, Shen Hao implored him to try his best. Otherwise, his Boss was very likely to refuse to cooperate and just go find his wife.

“What’s the matter with him?” asked Ouyang Yu, confusion written across his face. Although he was often on missions, he usually kept abreast of happenings in Beijing.

Everyone in Beijing was still unaware that Quan Jingwu was now in a relationship. Wasn’t he still in high spirits a few days ago?

After some thought, he could only think of one possibility.

Casting a stealthy glance at the chilling figure, he asked in a whisper, “Could it be… trouble with a woman?”

He certainly wasn’t lacking in wealth or power.

So that left just women.

Upon hearing this, Shen Hao clamped his mouth shut and lowered his head as if playing dead.

Don’t ask him, he didn’t know anything.

Seeing Shen Hao’s reaction, Ouyang Yu was even more convinced of his guess.

So he had guessed right.

Who would’ve thought? The once invincible Master Jingwu also had days when he was troubled over a woman. It was truly an eye-opening experience.

“Did they break up?” Ouyang Yu leaned closer to Shen Hao, gossipy anticipation written all over his face.

Shen Hao immediately pulled back, his eyes wide in shock at him.

For heaven’s sake, if Ouyang wanted to die, he should do it alone.

The mention of a ‘breakup’, in front of the Boss, was tantamount to seeking death, wasn’t it?

“Really?” Ouyang Yu insisted.

Shen Hao, “…”

Ouyang Yu, does your mother know that you’re such a gossip-monger?

“You know, with women, if they’re unhappy, just appease them profusely. If that doesn’t work, simply overpower them in bed.” Ouyang Yu, assuming the demeanor of a seasoned playboy, dished out advice, oblivious to Shen Hao’s twitching eye.

As his words ended, the cold atmosphere in the room grew even more intense, making it a little hard to breathe.

Shen Hao felt the alarm bells ringing in his head. He grabbed Ouyang Yu and started to lead him out of the room.

“Colonel Ouyang, I think we need to have a chat.”

Ouyang Yu was confused by Shen Hao’s move, “What are you dragging me for? I have a matter to discuss with Master Jingwu, Shen Hao, what are you doing?”

Ignoring him completely, Shen Hao opened the door and dragged him out.

Such a fool.

If they continued, they might both be sentenced to a tour of the Ghost Gate.

After closing the door, Shen Hao finally let go of him.

Ouyang Yu adjusted his clothing and indignantly asked, “What did you pull me out for? I have important matters to discuss.”

And what about the gossiping you were doing just now? Shen Hao grumbled internally.

“Colonel Ouyang, I was trying to save you.”

Ouyang Yu, “Save me?”

“Our Boss is in a particularly bad mood right now. If you want him to stay on, don’t gossip anymore. Otherwise, he could just pick up his bundle and leave, then you’ll have to deal with things on your own,” Shen Hao advised, his voice heavy with sincerity.

He wasn’t trying to scare him, he was just telling him the hard truth.

“Did Master Jingwu and his girlfriend really break up?” Ouyang Yu frowned and asked doubtfully.

Veins throbbed in Shen Hao’s forehead as he warned, “Colonel Ouyang, remember, curiosity killed the cat.”

Ouyang Yu replied lightly, clearly offended. All right, he wouldn’t ask if Shen Hao didn’t want him to.

Seeing that he finally quieted down, Shen Hao re-entered the room.

“Boss!”

Looking at the man seated on the sofa, Shen Hao called out uncertainly.

Quan Jingwu was caressing the bracelet around his wrist that Jian Qing had gifted him. He lifted an eyelid to briefly glance at Ouyang Yu.

Ouyang Yu stiffened as he met Quan Jingwu’s gaze.

Only when his gaze moved away did Ouyang Yu relax.

Damn, he had never felt so tense even when he stood before a general.

A grown man in his thirties scared stiff by a guy ten years younger. It was truly humiliating.

“Colonel Ouyang, please have a seat here,” Shen Hao intervened, breaking the awkward silence.

Ouyang Yu cleared his throat and sat down across from Quan Jingwu.

“Master Jingwu, our men have located him. ‘Dufeng’ has already sneaked into China, and his men have been hiding in J City for several days.”

Talking business, Ouyang Yu’s face took on a serious expression.

‘Dufeng,’ the infamous drug trafficker from the Middle East. Ouyang Yu’s task force had been tracking him for half a year. This time, they intended to apprehend him while he was still in J City. Otherwise, they might not get another chance.

However, the most troublesome factor was Dufeng himself. He was cunning, highly skilled, and capturing him would not be an easy task.
