Chapter 240: 240, Jian Luo’s Concern (1)_1

Chapter 240: 240, Jian Luo’s Concern (1)_1

The fire soared to the sky, presenting a scene of ruins everywhere.

With Fei En’s death, the whole Blues organization fell asunder in an instant.

The warplanes above stopped dropping bombs, the sound of their spinning rotors hovering in the sky, stirring up a wild wind.

Jian Qing raised her eyes, looking for Jian Luo.

“Sis!”

Jian Luo’s voice echoed from behind.

Jian Qing turned around to see him holding someone, striding briskly towards her.

Jian Luo casually threw the person he was holding to the ground, his dismissive gesture as nonchalant as tossing an old rag.

“Ouch–”

The pain-filled voice rang out. If it wasn’t Baggot trying to escape, then who was it?

Being old and frail, Baggot couldn’t withstand such a rough treatment from Jian Luo, feeling as if his bones were about to shatter.

“Sis, how should we deal with him?” Jian Luo passed him, his gaze landing on Jian Qing standing behind Baggot.

Upon hearing this, Baggot’s face froze in pain, his heart sinking.

The steps from behind were gradually approaching, a pair of black boots appearing before him.

Moving his line of sight upward, he saw a woman with a cold face. Baggot stiffened on the spot, not daring to move.

“Ha!” Jian Qing looked down at him condescendingly, a cold chuckle escaping from her scarlet lips. “Baggot, it’s been a while.”

The chilly voice entering his ears felt even colder than the freezing night. Baggot felt like his whole body’s blood was freezing.

“Jian…. Jian Qing!”

Matching her eyes, hardened by cold frost, he could hardly stop shaking as he spoke.

“I was wrong, please spare me…. I won’t do it again, please let me go, please…..”

Jian Qing glanced at him, then shifted her gaze away casually. “Baggot, you should have some idea about my temperament. You’ve hurt my grandpa. Do you think I could possibly let you go?”

“I…” Baggot backed off, a look of fear in his eyes. “It wasn’t me, I didn’t fire the shot, it was Fei En who had his people do it. I have nothing to do with it.”

Suddenly, Baggot’s hand, that was supporting him against the ground, felt something. He turned his head and saw Fei En, dead, his eyes wide open.

“Ah–”

He let out a hoarse scream, and in the panic, tried to escape by crawling and rolling.

“Baggot, where do you think you’re going?” Jian Luo deftly blocked his path.

“Jian Luo, I truly realize my mistake, please spare me, please…” He grabbed Jian Luo’s trouser leg, pleading humbly.

He didn’t want to end up like Fei En, he just didn’t.

A look of disgust flashed in Jian Luo’s eyes, and without any hesitation, he kicked him away.

If he had known better, he wouldn’t be here. Hurting his grandfather was unforgivable and he deserved this fate, even if he died a thousand times over it wouldn’t suffice.

Baggot covered his chest and coughed, his face flushed red.

“Luoluo, get it over with.” Jian Qing said indifferently, her words echoing in Baggot’s ears like a death warrant from hell.

Jian Luo understood, and with a smile, he raised his gun.

Seeing the dark barrel aimed at his head, Baggot was immediately covered in cold sweat.

“No…don’t…”

Baggot shook his head wildly, and tried to run, scrambling up.

But no matter how fast he was, he could never be faster than a bullet.

Jian Luo smirked, his finger pulling the trigger.

“Bang–”

The bullet pierced through the air, soaring out like an arrow.

A shot right through the heart, the bullet penetrated Baggot’s back, going straight through his chest.

“Uh–”

Baggot stopped, his face twisted in pain, a stifled groan seeping from his mouth.

He looked down at his chest—a bleeding hole kept gushing blood.

He became limp and fell down with a “thud”, his eyes wide open even in death.

Jian Luo walked over, checked his breath to confirm that he was indeed dead. Only then did he get up and walked back to Jian Qing’s side.

At this time, Black Jack had also returned. Dust and bloodstains marred his body, as though he had just experienced a fierce battle.

“Black Jack, what happened to your hand?” Jian Luo, with his sharp eyes, noticed the cut on Black Jack’s elbow, deep enough to reveal the bone.

“It’s nothing, just a small wound.” Black Jack nonchalantly replied, “Jian Qing, the assassin who shot your grandfather – I’ve already taken care of him.”

Jian Qing curved her lips slightly, her gaze falling on his wounded hand. “Have Bai Jue take care of your wound when you return, to prevent any infection.”

Jian Luo frowned, grabbing his hand and examining the wound. The bright red blood stained his fingertips, looking somewhat glaring under the light.

“How did you get injured this badly?”

“Don’t worry, it’s nothing.” Black Jack withdrew his hand, offering words of comfort.

“Miss, most members of the Blues organization have been wiped out.” The captain of the Nether Army reported, his face remaining stoic.

Jian Qing responded with a nod, and then turned her gaze to Black Jack. “Leave the rest to you.”

Black Jack nodded, dialed a number and ordered his men to take over.

“Let’s have our people retreat first.” Jian Qing gave a light order.

The captain of Nether Army responded, “Yes.”

The fire that touched the sky illuminated the pitch-black night, and screams echoed everywhere. It all made the dark night seem even more horrific.

The scene of ruins reflected in Black Jack’s deep blue eyes, and he sighed inwardly.

No matter how ambitious the wolf is, it needs to choose its prey carefully!

The Blues organization was decimated overnight, and this would undoubtedly cause a stir in the underworld.

After Black Jack’s men arrived to take over, Jian Qing and her team boarded the warplane to return.

Inside the warplane, Jian Qing sat by the window, staring out at the layers of dark clouds. Images of that extraordinarily beguiling and cold-faced man surfaced in her mind.

Xiaojing, I miss you!

Next to her, Jian Luo was treating Black Jack’s wound.

The warplane only had a first aid kit, so he could only provide Black Jack with temporary treatment.

“Bear with it for a bit.” Jian Luo held the alcohol and cotton swab, he raised his head and looked at Black Jack before speaking.

Black Jack nodded slightly.

He poured the alcohol onto the wound. As Black Jack frowned, his gaze landed on Jian Luo, who was dressing his wound. A warm feeling flashed in his eyes.

Looking down, he gently cleaned the wound. His long eyelashes drooped slightly, like two little brushes, sweeping across his heartstrings.

It was a ticklish feeling, he wanted so badly to reach out and touch it.

And he did.

“What are you doing?” Feeling a sudden touch on his eyelashes, Jian Luo blinked, looking at Black Jack, somewhat perplexed.

“Cough!” Black Jack casually retracted his hand and coughed lightly, “You just had something on your eyebrows.”

Jian Luo, unsuspecting, only uttered an ‘oh’, and then lowered his head to continue treating the wound.

Black Jack breathed a sigh of relief. When he raised his head, he found Jian Qing’s teasing gaze in the corner of his eyes. He quickly turned his head away, feeling quite awkward.

Jian Qing retracted her gaze, leaned back, and ignored the two, closing her eyes to rest.
