Chapter 263: 263, Grandpa Jing favors the little padded jacket (1)_1
“Can’t be cheered up then? What if I try this?” He flexed his arm, pulling her body closer to his.
Then, he lowered his head and landed a kiss on her soft lips.
“What are you doing? People might see us.” Jian Qing looked around warily, lest they get caught red-handed, which would be embarrassing beyond compare.
“Have I cheered you up now?” Quan Jingwu looked at her, his gaze playful.
Jian Qing scoffed lightly, “Nope.”
The moment she finished speaking, he sealed her lips again.
Their kisses were light as a dragonfly skimming the water’s surface, sending a numbing current racing through her body.
“Hey, …”
Before she could finish her sentence, he stole another kiss.
“Shall I continue cheering you up?”
His deep voice, tinged with humor, echoed in her ears.
Jian Qing chuckled and slapped his chest, “Such a rascal!”
Quan Jingwu laughed wickedly, “Then I’ll just play the rascal again.”
Saying so, he dipped his head and stole another quick kiss when she least expected it.
Jian Qing sighed in resignation, “…”
And to think, she almost wore lipstick that day, it would have smudged for sure then.
“Let me go!” she pushed against his chest, thoroughly annoyed.
This time, Quan Jingwu surprisingly released his grip on her promptly.
“Sweetheart, feed me a piece.” He held a piece of chocolate in front of Jian Qing. His harsh gaze quickly melted when it landed on the chocolate.
“You wanted this.” Jian Qing pouted, picked out the most presentable piece, and put it in his mouth.
She had warned him not to eat it. If he regretted it later, it wasn’t her fault.
The bitter taste of the chocolate filled his mouth, and Quan Jingwu’s smile grew wider.
As expected, the taste was diabolical!
Jian Qing looked at him suspiciously. Did eating a piece of chocolate make him lose his mind?
His grin didn’t look normal at all.
“If you don’t like it, you can spit it out. It’s okay.”
After swallowing the chocolate, Quan Jingwu reached up and pinched her cheek, “It was pretty good.”
Because it was something she had made for him, no matter what it tasted like, to him, it was the best chocolate in the world.
Jian Qing widened her eyes, clearly not believing him.
“Stop humouring me. I’ve tried this chocolate myself.”
He was obviously trying to cheer her up.
Quan Jingwu leaned in, his gaze level with hers and a fond smile on his face, “As long as you’re the one who made it, to me, it’s always the best.”
Meeting his sincere look, Jian Qing suddenly understood why women always liked sweet nothings, especially when they came from a loved one.
“So, in the future, don’t make chocolates for others to eat, or give them chocolates. If you must give someone, it should be me.” He declared dominantly.
“Even if we have a son, don’t make it for him.”
Jian Qing rolled her eyes at him, “…”
This man is really too overbearing.
“What if we have a daughter?” She asked deliberately.
He looked at her, envisioning a little girl that looked just like her. A hint of hesitation appeared on his face.
Seeing this, Jian Qing couldn’t help but mutter inwardly that this man was clearly going to favor girls over boys in the future.
When it came to their son, he was straightforward in his refusal.
And yet, he hesitated so long when it came to their daughter.
Biased, completely biased.
“Even for our daughter, it’s better not to make it.” After some deliberation, Quan Jingwu said seriously.
As for their little girl, he would just buy it for her.
“Why?” Stunned, Jian Qing thought he would agree after hesitating for so long.
“She’s still young. We don’t want to ruin her impression of chocolate”, he explained, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
Jian Qing, “…”
Damn it.
She thought it was for some other reason.
So, it was because he was afraid the chocolates would give their daughter nightmares. That was really something.
“You favour girls over boys!” she blurted out, her tone sour.
Quan Jingwu laughed softly, “I only favour you!”
At that, she grinned.
“Want more?” She teased.
Quan Jingwu leaned forward, nuzzling his head against her neck.
“A kiss for each piece, deal?”
His hair was tickling her neck. As she noticed someone heading their way from the corner of her eye, her smile gradually faded.
It seems, someone could no longer sit still.
“Xiao Jing, you sure know how to attract trouble for me!”
Quan Jingwu tugged at the corners of his lips, planted a kiss on her cheek, and straightened upright.
From a distance, Song Xirou saw the two of them cosy together. She concealed her raging jealousy and approached them.
“Jian Qing, Jing Wu, you’re here!”
Quan Jingwu withheld even a glance from her, his handsome feature radiating a chilling hostility.
“What’s up?” asked Jian Qing, looking at her impassively.
“Madam Quan and the others are having tea and asked me to call you over.” Song Xirou smiled warmly.
“Xiao Jing, you go on ahead. I have a word or two to discuss with Miss Song.” Jian Qing turned and told Quan Jingwu.
Quan Jingwu pursed his lips and uttered a sound of acknowledgment, before leaving with his chocolates.
Watching Quan Jingwu leave as per Jian Qing’s instructions, Song Xirou’s smile froze for a second.
She watched as Quan Jingwu’s figure gradually retreated, then turned to face Song Xirou, speaking slowly, “Miss Song, what do you think of me?”
Song Xirou looked at her, unsure of what she meant but managed to smile slightly, “Beautiful, smart, and kind.”
“Wrong!” Jian Qing looked at her, grinning wryly, “I’m not kind, sometimes I can be ruthless.”
Song Xirou faltered, “Jian Qing, you…”
“Song Xirou, it’s just the two of us here. There’s no need for pretence.” Jian Qing crossed her arms, speaking in a chilling tone.
“I don’t understand what you mean, Jian Qing.” Song Xirou looked at her helplessly.
“Did I do something to offend you? Do you have any misconceptions about me?”
Jian Qing stepped forward, her eyes cold, “Song Xirou, if you want to keep up the pretense, that’s fine by me. You like Quan Jingwu, that’s your business, but if you dare to make a move on him, then don’t blame me if I ruin things. After all, I’m not one to show mercy.”
