Chapter 268: 268, Elder Jing Takes His Daughter-in-law for a Campus Tour (2)_1
The two ran around in circles, resulting in a rather miserable ending.
“Bam–”
A vase on the desk gets knocked over, the exquisite porcelain instantly shatters into pieces on the ground.
The atmosphere freezes; Quan Mingxuan and his buddy simultaneously look at the fragments on the ground; flashing through their minds are three words – doom awaits!
“This is an antique vase my dad just bid for.” Quan Mingxuan swallowed hard, face paler than a leaf.
His father was mad about antiques, and he had rambled about this porcelain vase for long. Now that it was broken, if the old man found out, they’d have to face more than simply writing a self-criticism.
“Well, I don’t think it has much to do with me,” Han Yue quickly straightened up and looked at Quan Mingxuan.
“You…” Quan Mingxuan’s world was shaken by Han Yue’s shameless words. Could you believe he just said that?
“Axuan, I think you should admit to your dad what you did. Or better yet, buy him a nicer vase. If that fails, you could write a detailed self-reflection.” Han Yue delivered these words of wisdom with a serious tone of voice and a face that suggested none of the affair had anything to do with him.
“Bullshit!” Quan Mingxuan burst out in anger, wishing he could slap the self-criticism right on Han Yue’s face.
Would he have broken the vase if Han Yue hadn’t been chasing him to snatch the self-criticism?
What a joke.
“Han Yue, let’s go fifty-fifty on the vase.”
Han Yue looked back at him with gritted teeth, “Fifty-fifty?”
Quan Mingxuan, “No shit.”
“Sorry, but I’m not man enough.” As he spoke, Han Yue flipped his curly hair with his little-finger, quite insouciantly.
Quan Mingxuan’s smiles stiffened in frustration, “…”
Damn it! What a nutcase!
Can he deny knowing this guy in front of him?
…
The campus traditions of Imperial University are always an elaborate affair. Today, many successful guests have been invited to attend.
Imperial University isn’t just for the offspring of nobles. The University welcomes anyone with talent, regardless of their background. Conversely, those who want to get in solely because they’re wealthy need not apply.
Moreover, Quan Che, the principal of Imperial University, is also the largest shareholder in the university. He wouldn’t allow any underhand maneuvers or favoritism.
“Principal, isn’t that Young Master Quan and Young Master Han over there?” the principal’s assistant pointed out.
Quan Che followed his assistant’s gaze and indeed found the two in the crowd.
It seemed that the punishment of writing five thousand words of self-criticism had been insufficient.
“It’s getting late. Where are Jingwu and Jian Qing?” Han Yue glanced at his wristwatch while scanning the crowd but failed to spot Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing.
Just as Quan Mingxuan was about to speak up, he saw some familiar faces approaching, which somewhat repressed the smile at his lips.
“Ayue, it sure is a small world.”
“What?” Han Yue was clueless about his words. Following his gaze, he reacted, taken aback.
Why is it that they always bump into them everywhere?
Well, all the players are here now.
“What a coincidence, Young Master Quan and Han, you have also come.” An Yun greeted them.
Besides him, the Chu siblings and Song Xirou were also present.
Quan Mingxuan greeted An Yun sardonically, “Quite the coincidence indeed.”
Stealing a glance at Chu Yihen out of the corner of his eye, Han Yue noticed that the wound on the corner of Yihen’s mouth, the one Jian Qing had caused, hadn’t healed yet. He snickered, thinking he deserved it.
Quan Mingxuan, absent-mindedly looking around, showed no inclination to engage in further exchanges with An Yun and the others. Suddenly, his eyes lit up as if he had seen something.
“Jingwu, Jian Qing!”
Finally, they are here. Now the fun would start.
Not far off, Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing came strolling leisurely. With the same casually elegant dress style and exquisite faces, they instantly captured the attention of the crowd.
Seeing the hand-in-hand couple, Chu Yihen felt like a needle was poking his eyes. He couldn’t help but be reminded of the incident in J City when Jian Qing fought him for Quan Jingwu.
“You two are so late. We thought you decided to ditch us.” Han Yue walked over and said, humorously.
“Wow, matching outfits. Deliberate?”
Jian Qing shot him a sidelong glance, answering with mockery, “Jealous or envious?”
“Both actually,” Han Yue replied cheekily.
Chu Ruohan stared at the icy handsome face of Quan Jingwu, clearly infatuated. In order to refuse the proposed marriage, she had created such an uproar at home in the past few days that she had become significantly thinner.
Thinking of herself being arranged for marriage while Jian Qing was so happy, she couldn’t help but feel jealous, wishing that she could replace Jian Qing in Quan Jingwu’s heart.
“Jian Qing, this year’s campus traditions are different from the past ones. There’ll be many activities and plenty of stalls selling snacks,” Quan Mingxuan informed her.
Needless to say, Jian Qing’s reputation as a foodie had firmly stuck.
Without a doubt, upon hearing about the snack stalls, Jian Qing’s calm eyes began to sparkle with anticipation.
“Didn’t Yifei come?”
She remembered Yifei saying she would be coming too.
“Oh, she’s here already. She and her friends have been wandering around,” Quan Mingxuan explained.
All of a sudden, the soothing melody of the campus song filled the air, reminding everyone present of their college days.
“Let’s go, the speech is about to start. Let’s head to the auditorium,” Quan Mingxuan announced, checking the time.
When the group arrived at the auditorium, it was almost full. Quite a lively scene.
Quan Jingwu and his friends picked the last row on the left, whereas Chu Yihen and his company sat down in the last row on the right. 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓅𝓊𝓫.𝒸ℴ𝓶
The situation seemed somewhat awkward.
“Never thought you’d be the first of us three to get hitched, Jingwu. Now that you’ve brought your girlfriend to the campus event, I wonder if next time you’ll bring your whole family?” Han Yue remarked, an impish grin lurking in his eyes.
Attending the campus event with your girlfriend did sound a tad romantic.
Upon hearing the mention of “whole family”, Jian Qing was reminded of the commitment she had made to a certain someone in the car a while back. Her fair ears turned a noticeable shade of red underneath her long hair.
Quan Jingwu smirked, a rare display of humor, “In that case, you guys can start preparing the red envelopes.”
At this, both Quan Mingxuan and Han Yue burst out laughing.
