Chapter 323: 323, Night Crisis 4)_1
The next second, a light voice rang out, soothing the rage in Quan Jingwu.
“Xiao Jing!”
Jian Qing walked up to him, grabbed the iron rod from his hand, and tossed it aside.
“She’s not worth you getting your hands dirty.”
She held his hand, giving a slight smile.
“I’ve already taught her a lesson, that’s enough.”
“She deserves to die.” Quan Jingwu gripped her hand back, his tone icy cold.
Jian Qing looked up at him, kissing his lips lightly.
The intimate gesture was made without any regard for the onlookers.
“She deserves to die, but isn’t it more fitting for her to wish she were dead, hm?”
A serious incident at Master Han’s birthday banquet would definitely not look good.
Quan Jingwu’s thin lips tightened, and he uttered a simple affirmation “Mmm”, “Let’s go.”
“Alright.” Jian Qing nodded, clearly not in the mood to stay after such an incident.
The crowd quickly made way, as Quan Jingwu led Jian Qing out. Han Yue made note of the individuals in the bathroom and had several waiters drag the offending women out, before returning to the banquet hall.
The birthday banquet wasn’t over yet, so they would leave these women here for now, and deal with them when they had the time.
Back in the banquet hall, Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing bid their farewells to Old Master Quan before leaving early.
Old Master Han watched the departing couple, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes.
“Old Quan, your daughter-in-law is no ordinary woman!”
Having faced all sorts of ups and downs in his life, there was no type of person he hadn’t seen.
With just one look, he knew, Jian Qing was certainly extraordinary.
Old Master Quan stroked his beard and a proud smile appeared on his face, “Indeed.”
But nobody noticed the figure lurking behind a pillar outside the banquet hall.
Watching Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing get into a car, she picked up her phone and made a call.
“You can proceed.”
The hoarse voice carried a chilling ruthlessness.
She hung up the phone and, after straightening her cheongsam, stepped back into the banquet hall.
Under the night sky, a black sports car sped down the highway.
It was nearing ten, and the wind was even chillier after leaving the hotel.
Jian Qing was wearing Quan Jingwu’s coat, looking at the man driving with a stern expression, her lips curled into a faint smile.
“Xiao Jing, don’t be angry anymore, okay?”
That woman headbutted the door due to her actions, she likely suffered enough.
Quan Jingwu controlled the steering wheel with one hand while holding her cold hand with the other.
“Next time you encounter such a situation, don’t hesitate to fight, and fight to kill.”
The magnetic voice echoing a statement that sent a shiver down one’s spine.
No doubt, had Jian Qing not intervened, there would have been a death tonight.
Jian Qing chuckled lightly, her voice soft as she said, “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
How adorable is her Xiaojing?
“Aren’t you cold?” Even after holding hands for this long, her hand was still so cold.
Jian Qing was about to shake her head when she sneezed.
Quan Jingwu’s brow furrowed slightly as he rolled up the car window and turned on the car’s heater.
Jian Qing curled the corners of her mouth, snugly wrapping herself in the coat.
The car was warmth radiating from the heater. Leaning against her seat, she began to feel sleepy.
Glancing through the rearview mirror, her eyes that were fading into sleepiness suddenly snapped open.
“It’s okay!”
His large hand tightened around hers, his voice soft as he reassured her.
Quan Jingwu continued driving, his deep purple eyes darkening.
Jian Qing hummed in acknowledgment, a playful smile appeared on her lips as she glanced through the rearview mirror.
It seemed like it was a mistake to leave the house tonight.
They wouldn’t be able to get away without some bloodshed.
Underneath the gleaming streetlights, three black sedans were trailing behind the black sports car, peculiarly keeping the same distance with each other.
“Bang——”
A loud noise came from the car, Jian Qing immediately recognized it as gunfire.
A silenced gun.
It looked like the vermins tailing them came prepared.
“Bang bang bang——”
Gunshots echoed one after another. It was fortunate that Quan Jingwu’s sports car had a high value, or else it wouldn’t have been able to withstand so many bullets.
“Xiaojing, we can’t keep going on like this.”
Jian Qing looked out of the car window. She saw a black sedan pull up next to them, a cold, fierce light flashed in her eyes.
They had no idea how many people were in the other car, and they were armed.
Quan Jingwu’s eyes were icy cold. He stepped on the accelerator and the speed of the sports car instantly skyrocketed.
Upon seeing this, the three sedans also raced to catch up, relentlessly keeping the pursuit.
“Xiaojing, that way.”
Jian Qing, seeing the forest by the road in her peripheral vision, pointed out.
Chances were high that the people chasing them were professional killers. Given the current circumstances, their best bet was to find an unpopulated location and take care of them.
Quan Jingwu’s deep purple eyes flashed with a dangerous light. He made a turn with the steering wheel and stopped his car near the forest.
Almost simultaneously, both Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing unbuckled their seatbelts and darted out of the car.
“Come.”
Quan Jingwu clasped Jian Qing’s hand, and they headed straight for the forest.
They moved so quickly that they disappeared into the dark forest in the blink of an eye.
“Screech—”
The three sedans stopped simultaneously, and men in black athletic clothes sporting silver masks on their faces poured out.
“Go after them, they can’t have gone far.”
A singular figure in a red mask amongst the black-clothed men ordered.
Inside the forest, Jian Qing, in her high heels, was having trouble keeping up with Quan Jingwu’s pace.
God damn it, she knew that formalwear and high heels were trouble.
“Xiaojing, wait.”
She halted, kicked off her high heels, quickly tearing her dress with a “rip” sound, reducing its length significantly.
This should make things a lot easier.
Quan Jingwu’s eyes were steely, “Treasure, hop on.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll carry you.”
Saying this, he pulled her hand over his shoulder.
The ground was littered with pebbles and shards of rocks. It would be problematic if she hurt her foot.
Not giving her a chance to refuse, Quan Jingwu swiftly hoisted her onto his back.
“Hold on tight.”
Helplessness flashed in Jian Qing’s eyes as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Carrying her, Quan Jingwu sprinted through the forest, his phantom-like figure darting through the trees.
