Chapter 347: 337, Can the Person Quan Jingwu Admires be Simple?_2
Quan Jingwu reached out and conveniently pulled her hat up for her. The long bunny ears dangling on either side matched her delicate face, making her cuteness almost too much to bear.
Jian Qing met his lavender gaze, seeing her reflection mirrored in his eyes, and rolled her eyes.
Um… quite the peculiar taste, she thought.
“Satisfied now?” She pulled down her hat, preparing to change out of the bunny costume.
Quan Jingwu grabbed hold of her hand, pulling her towards him with a strong yank. The world spun around her, and when she looked up, his robust body was above hers.
“Xiaojing, you…” she barely began to speak, when his burning lips sealed hers.
His advances were ferocious, overpowering, and intense. Clothing was gradually discarded, and a romantic atmosphere spread throughout the room.
The ‘big bad wolf’ devoured the ‘little bunny’ thoroughly. Jingwu was determined to practice this theory to the hilt.
…
Not far from the police station, a luxurious black car was parked under a tree.
The car door opened, and An Rong stepped out, adorned in sunglasses and carrying a handbag, exuding an air of opulence.
She moved to the other side of the car, extending her hand to help the person inside the car get out.
“Mum, slow down.”
When Zhou Qi stepped out of the car and looked towards the nearby police station, a glint of sorrow passed through her eyes.
“Mum, let’s go.” An Rong assisted her and said.
The moment the two of them stepped into the police station, they instantly attracted the attention of others.
Before coming, An Rong had already arranged everything. A man in a police uniform guided them towards the prison.
The corridor was unnaturally quiet, with a damp air permeating the space.
“We’re here. Our time is limited.” The man reminded them.
An Rong lifted her chin slightly, nodding in acknowledgment, “I understand.”The man walked a short distance away, leaving them with some privacy.
Since An Man was covered in wounds and accused of hiring an assassin, she was temporarily lodged alone in a cell.
The steel single bed, seemingly used for a long time, had started to rust at the foot. An Man was lying on it with her eyes closed, her body wrapped in bandages. It was a bleak sight.
“Aman, Aman…”
Zhou Qi stepped forward, her hands clutching the bars, staring at her daughter on the bed, unable to stop the tears from falling.
This was the first time An Rong saw her sister in such a miserable state, it made her frown and her hatred for Jian Qing grew even stronger.
Seemingly hearing her mother’s call, An Man slowly forced her eyes open. The slightest movement pulled at her wounds causing her to gasp in pain.
Fighting through the pain, she sat up. Seeing the handcuffs on her hands, a look of despair crossed her face.
“Aman, your mum’s here. How are your injuries?” Zhou Qi asked in a louder voice when she noticed her daughter just sitting there in a daze.
When An Man looked up and saw the people beyond the bars, a glimmer of happiness flashed across her face.
“Mum, Arong.”
She pushed off the blanket, and with great effort, got out of the bed. Every little movement opened the wounds on her leg. Her white bandages were instantly stained red with blood.
“Hiss…”
She winced in pain, hobbling over. Zhou Qi stretch her hand into the gap between the bars; An Man stretched hers out and held it, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Mum!”
“Aman, don’t worry. Mum will find a way to get you out. Just focus on healing,” Zhou Qi consoled her, her voice choking with tears.
“Mum, thank you.” An Man tried to veil the tears in her eyes and croaked a response.
Deep down, she knew the chance of getting out of her cell was slim.
Jian Qing, that detestable little creature, seemed determined to see her in jail.
“Sis, why were you so impulsive?” An Rong sighed, “It’s too dangerous to have someone kill Jian Qing. Besides, with Quan Jingwu’s backing, it’s not a good idea to touch her.”
Though she also disliked Jian Qing, she disagreed with her sister’s method. She was usually more calm and rational than her, but this time, she acted impulsively.
An Man’s eyes darkened, “Jian Qing ruined my family and Chengcheng. Why should she be able to live carefreely?”
“Sis, to be honest, grandpa said no one can interfere with your case. Dad and your younger brother can’t help either,” An Rong stated awkwardly.
Hearing these words, An Man’s hands fell limp, and the light of hope in her eyes gradually dimmed.
Wasn’t this obvious? Grandpa was always partial to Jian Qing; he would never help her. As for her father, preserving the An family’s reputation probably mattered more to him.
“Aman, just be patient for now. A lot of people are watching the An family closely. Once this blows over, I am sure your dad will get you out,” Zhou Qi comforted her.
