Chapter 356: 342, Miss Jian is unhappy (3) _1
“How long do you plan to stay this time?”
“I don’t know.”
“Alright then, hurry back to the old mansion.” Master An laid down, turning his back on him.
He’s in the hospital, and this brat doesn’t even know to say a few nice things to soothe him, only knowing how to upset him.
“Then I’ll go back first, you rest well.” Mo Xiao stood up, speaking in a quiet voice.
Master An didn’t respond, pulling up the quilt and pretending to sleep.
Opening the door, Qiu Bo and a few others were waiting outside.
“Master.”
“Back to the old mansion.” Mo Xiao stated, “Qiu Bo, I’ll leave the care here to you.”
“I’ll take good care of the master.” Qiu Bo answered.
As soon as Mo Xiao left with Ning Feng, Qiu Bo immediately entered the ward.
In the hospital bed, Master An sat up again.
“Master, have you spoken to the eldest master?” Qiu Bo asked.
Master An shook his head helplessly, “That stubborn brat, Azhe, will probably take some time to accept Miss Qing and the others.”
Qiu Bo frowned, “What should we do? The second master already knows. If he lets something slip to the eldest master, then…”
This was not a joking matter. If mishandled, the An family could end up in chaos.
“Help me discharge from the hospital tomorrow.” Master An ordered.
“But sir, the doctor said you need to recuperate properly.” Qiu Bo disagreed.
“There’s a family doctor at the mansion too, let’s leave it at that, no need to say more.”
Qiu Bo looked at him and replied, “Understood.”
…
After eating hot pot, Jian Qing took a bath after returning from Qianshi Restaurant. She lounged on the sofa, feeling rather listless.
Quan Jingwu came out of the bathroom, his sable-colored robe loosely thrown on, revealing a large expanse of chest with defined muscles. He casually wiped his wet hair with a towel as he walked over to the couch.
His gaze fell on the woman on the sofa, who was hanging her head. An obscure light flickered in his eyes as he just tossed the towel aside.
He bent over, stretching his hand to pick her up into his arms.
“Xiao Jing!”
Caught off guard and lifted into his arms, Jian Qing subconsciously wrapped her arms around his neck.
Quan Jingwu sat down, holding her, his large hand gently stroking her dried long hair. “Are you upset?”
Jian Qing gently shook her head, her head buried in his chest.
He looked down at her, a light smile on his cherry lips, “Did someone bully you in the hospital, hmm?”
“No.” She murmured.
Quan Jingwu lifted her out of his arms, his slender fingers gently pinching her chin.
“If nothing upset you, why were you looking so down while eating hot pot tonight, hmm?”
She had been fine during their time at the company, but after returning from the hospital, his baby girl’s smile had become forced.
Jian Qing’s gaze flickered, casting faint shadows underneath the fluttering lashes.
“Seeing him lying in the hospital this afternoon…I don’t know why but I felt uncomfortable in my heart.”
Quan Jingwu raised his hand to rub her head, his lips pressing gently against her smooth forehead.
“My sweetheart is so kind-hearted!”
His deep voice spoke slowly, the magnetic tone was irresistible.
“So, do as your heart wishes, I’ll be there for everything.”
Jian Qing pursed her lips and gave an affirmative hum, her arms clasping around his waist as she buried her head in his chest.
Smelling his pleasant scent, the corner of her lips curled up.
Quan Jingwu tightened his arms around her, unusually serious.
…
The moonlight flowed quietly, Mo Xiao’s sudden return had thrown a bombshell onto everyone in the old mansion.
Ning Feng also stayed in the old mansion with him, both of them were familiar with it as it wasn’t their first time coming back with Mo Xiao.
Mo Xiao finished his dinner, didn’t linger in the living room, and directly returned to his room upstairs.
His cold demeanor was well-known by the An family, and even An Zhonghui didn’t have much to say.
“Mom, why is uncle suddenly back?” Yang Xiang watched Mo Xiao’s figure disappear into the staircase, she turned to An Rong with curiosity.
An Rong shook her head, “I don’t know either.”
The whole An family could be considered to fear only one person besides Master An, her brother.
Over the years, her brother only came back once every year during the holidays. It was indeed strange that he suddenly returned without any prior notice.
“Since Azhe’s back, all of you should not loiter around the fourth floor needlessly.” An Zhonghui glanced at An Yu and the others, his eyes finally resting on Zhou Qi.
Zhou Qi’s face expressed her displeasure, saying in a wronged tone, “He’s also my son, you make it sound like I could hurt him.”
“Enough, since Azhe suddenly returned, he must have had a reason. Don’t mention the marriage stuff in front of him.” An Zhonghui warned Zhou Qi with a meaning look in his eyes.
Zhou Qi reluctantly responded, “I understand.”
On the side, An Chong’s gaze swiftly swept the rooms upstairs, a brief shadow crossing his eyes.
Upstairs, after taking his bath, Mo Xiao poured himself a glass of wine and took a light sip.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
The sound of someone knocking on the door made Mo Xiao frown.
Walking over, he opened the door to find Zhou Qi with a tray, a smile on her face.
“Azhe, I had the kitchen cook up some nourishing soup for you.”
Mo Xiao’s face remained cold as he responded, “No need.”
His aloof attitude left Zhou Qi slightly upset.
“Azhe, are we supposed to be standing at the door and having a conversation like this?”
Mo Xiao’s thin lips twitched, as he icily replied, “Come in.”
After saying this, he turned around and walked inside. Zhou Qi was relieved, following him in with the tray.
Placing the tray on the table, she noticed the wine and voiced her concern, “Drinking wine late at night is not good for the body.”
Mo Xiao ignored her, “Was there something else?”
Listening to his distant tone, Zhou Qi felt like a bucket of cold water was dumped over her, freezing her to the bone.
“Azhe, must you speak like this to your mother?” Her face turned unpleasant. “I apologized for what happened years ago, what more do you want?”
As a mother, was she wrong to worry about her son’s marriage?
Is it necessary to hold grudges for something that happened over twenty years ago?
Mo Xiao’s eyebrows tightened, “Mother, if there’s nothing else, I would like to rest now.”
Upon his indication for her to leave, Zhou Qi felt even more wronged.
“Azhe, I am your mother. You came back after so long but didn’t care to ask about Aman. Don’t you care about us at all?”
She wiped an imaginary tear from the corner of her eye, “You said you have someone you like, but after all these years, you still haven’t found that woman. Maybe she forgot about you a long time ago, maybe she’s already married. Why are you so obstinate?”
Hearing this, Mo Xiao’s face instantly darkened, voice devoid of warmth, “Mother, please get out.”
No one had the right to speak about Weiwei.
Zhou Qi was stunned, looking at him incredulously. “What did you say? You’re kicking me out for a woman?”
Mo Xiao didn’t reply, his body exuded a chilling aura.
Zhou Qi was enraged, “Fine, I’m leaving!”
She stormed out, slamming the door behind her.
