Chapter 405: 391, He cannot be in trouble (1)_1
Jian Qing buried her head in Quan Jingwu’s chest, her breath growing rapid.
The animosity within Quan Jingwu solidified into substance, and with his strong arm holding her tightly, he walked out.
“Jingwu, you…” 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝖕𝖚𝖇.𝖈𝔬𝔪
Just as Quan Mingxuan had walked into the room to find someone, he came face to face with Quan Jingwu. Lowering his gaze, he stopped mid-sentence when he spotted the person in Jingwu’s arms.
The familiar figure, coupled with the coordinating outfits they wore, gave rise to an ominous feeling.
“Keep an eye on the Durand family. Don’t let anyone leave.” Quan Jingwu commanded coldly.
Quan Mingxuan was taken aback, but by the time he regained his composure, Quan Jingwu had already departed with Jian Qing.
“Jingwu, wait!”
Quan Mingxuan ran after them, urgently saying.
“Uncle An jumped into the sea to find Jian Qing when he heard that she had fallen in.”
As he spoke, several mysteries began to unravel in his mind.
He always thought An Zhe cared too much for Jian Qing. After all, they had only known each other for a short period of time.
And yet, the moment he heard about Lola’s claim, he didn’t hesitate to jump into the sea to look for her. His anxiety and concern was deeply etched into his face, revealing his true feelings.
“What did you say?” Jian Qing raised her head and croaked out her words.
As she lifted her head, Quan Mingxuan caught sight of her flushed face, and a flash of shock flickered in his eyes.
Frequenting in Dihao, he couldn’t possibly misread her condition.
It was obvious she had been drugged.
And the effects seemed to have kicked in already.
He suddenly recalled how Lola looked when she was pulled out of the sea, she too, appeared to have been drugged. Could it be that Jian Qing had also fallen prey to the same scheme?
“Lola claimed that you fell into the sea, so Uncle An jumped in to look for you,” he explained.
Jian Qing’s heart skipped a beat. She looked at Quan Jingwu and pleaded, “Xiaojing, let’s go check it out.”
Quan Jingwu’s cold brows furrowed slightly. “Darling, you…”
“Xiaojing!” she insisted.
Jingwu’s thin, burgundy lips tightened, but he relented in the end.
Outside the cruise ship, the scene was chaotic.
“I’m so hot, Xie, I’m so hot.”
Lola’s face was dripping with seduction. She ran her hands all over her body, moaning seductively.
“Xie, I love you, I want you.”
“Please, take me.”
Having downed a generous amount of the liquor, the effects of the drug took hold quickly and forcefully. Lola was completely out of her senses, and if it wasn’t for Julie holding her down, she would have torn off her own clothes by now.
Everyone stared at her in disbelief, unable to reconcile the unhinged woman in front of them with the elegant princess from the banquet earlier.
Among them were many young heirs of prominent families, their passions stirred by Lola’s uninhibited behaviour. Their eyes greedily took in Lola’s scantily clad figure, lighting up with lust.
Even though Lola’s venomous words had shattered their initial impression of her, she was still a princess. And that voluptuous body she possessed was indeed captivating.
Count Durand felt his face heat up under everyone’s contemptuous gaze. He looked at Lola, his daughter whom he doted on and wished he could strangle her on the spot.
This time, the Durand family’s reputation had been thoroughly dragged through the mud by her.
Fuming with anger, He walked over and dragged Lola towards him.
“Lola, get yourself together,” he barked, raising a hand to slap her across the face.
“Slap!”
In his fury, he didn’t hold back his strength.
Lola’s fair cheek immediately bore the mark of a vivid handprint, rapidly swelling.
“Reed, what are you doing?”
Julie, heartbroken for her daughter, swiftly pulled her behind herself.
“I want Xie, give me my Xie back, give him back to me,” Lola ranted, starting to tear at her skimpy cocktail dress.
“It’s so hot, I’m so hot…”
Count Durand glanced coldly at Lola, his voice dripping with contempt. “Look at what she’s turned into; she’s going to ruin a perfectly good banquet.”
“I…”
As she met the anger in his eyes, Julie guiltily dropped her gaze.
After all, from the very beginning, she knew about her daughter’s plan. Only, she hadn’t expected the drug to end up being used on Jian Qing instead of Mo Xiao.
“Hurry and get someone to take her back to her room. Don’t you think she’s embarrassed us enough?” Count Durand roared in French.
“The rest of you, aren’t you going to hurry and take the princess back to her room?”
From the sidelines, several maids rushed over and tried to grab Lola.
“Don’t touch me, I’m looking for Xie.”
“Get away, you lowly people are not allowed to touch me, get away from me!” Lola screamed, completely devoid of any trace of her earlier princess-like poise.
“Lola, be good, let’s go with mommy,” Julie tried to coax Lola, trying to avoid a situation that would utterly decimate the Durand family’s reputation.
In the midst of the struggle, a rip sounded, tearing a piece off Lola’s thin cocktail dress.
The already revealing dress could now barely cover her voluptuous figure, exposing her long legs to the open air. The sight was a visual feast for the young gentlemen present.
Julie, her face ashen, quickly snatched up a fallen blanket to cover Lola.
“Quick, take the princess to her room.”
Before she had gone very far, everyone quickly made way for her.
Julie spotted the new arrivals, and a ripple of panic crossed her heart.
Everyone paused in shock when they spotted Jian Qing in Quan Jingwu’s arms.
What happened?
Didn’t Lola say Jian Qing had fallen into the sea?
Jian Qing was safe and sound here then where is Mo Xiao…
Everyone looked horrified as they stared at the turbulent sea.
The sea was so rough late in the evening. Mo Xiao was likely in grave danger.
Jian Qing narrowed her eyes, surveying her surroundings, but she didn’t see Mo Xiao.
When Han Yue saw Jian Qing, his gaze directed towards Lola darkened even further.
Dammit, that bitch was going to get Uncle An killed.
“Ayue, how is it?” Quan Mingxuan asked.
“Uncle An has yet to surface,” Han Yue responded.
Jian Qing hopped off from Jingwu’s arms, nearly falling due to a sudden weakness.
Damn it.
Once she had recovered, she would definitely bring Lola, that peacock bitch, down.
Jingwu reacted swiftly, catching her just in time. His eyebrows were knitted together worriedly, “Darling, what are you trying to do?”
“Xiaojing, send someone to look for him.” Her voice gripped onto his hand, a note of urgency in her voice.
“Jian Qing, I’ve already sent someone to look for him,” Han Yue spoke up.
Upon hearing this, Jian Qing turned to look at the tumultuous sea, a chill spreading through her chest.
An unnameable panic rose within her. It was the same feeling she had seventeen years ago when her mother stopped breathing right in front of her eyes.
At that moment, she realised that Mo Xiao had rooted himself deep within her heart.
The bond between parent and child, she could not sever.
Her legs suddenly gave way under her and her flushed face gradually paled.
“Darling, don’t be afraid.”
Jingwu wrapped his arms around her, gently patting her back.
“I’m here, he won’t let anything happen.”
Jian Qing gripped onto Jingwu’s collar, her fingertips shaking slightly.
She hadn’t accepted him yet. He can’t go.
He can’t…
