Chapter 407: 393, Cruise Ship Breakdown (3)_1
“It’s impossible, he can’t possibly be your father, impossible.” Lola reacted, screaming at Jian Qing in rage.
They must have colluded and lied to her. That wretch, Jian Qing, must have feared people would find out she was a flirtatious woman, so she lied, claiming that Mo Xiao was her father.
Yes, that must be it.
Jian Qing gave her a cold glance, her fingertips piercing into the palm of her hand, stimulating her mind.
The others did not notice her action, but it did not escape Quan Jingwu, who was keeping a close eye on her.
He stepped forward, picked her up indifferently, ignoring the astonished gazes of the crowd.
“Xiaojing!”
Jian Qing felt his anger, calling out softly.
“Let’s go home,” he said.
The medicine was wreaking havoc inside her. She had reached her limit and let him carry her obediently.
“Ok.”
Quan Jingwu raised his gaze to Quan Mingxuan and said, “Get the ship to shore.”
Knowing Jian Qing’s condition, Quan Mingxuan did not delay. He quickly went to find the helmsman.
Soon, he returned with a dark expression.
“The ship is malfunctioning. It won’t be able to return for a while.”
At his words, a chill spread from Jingwu, causing everyone to retreat a few steps, distancing themselves from him.
A killing air.
Mo Xiao noticed something was wrong and pulled Mingxuan aside, “What’s going on?”
Quan Mingxuan cast a glance at Jian Qing, and whispered something in Mo Xiao’s ear.
After hearing Quan Mingxuan’s whispered words, Mo Xiao’s expression darkened, and he shot a gaze towards Lola that could have killed her.
Lola panicked at the coldness in his gaze and instinctively retreated into Julie’s arms.
Mo Xiao turned to Count Durand and said, “Why would the ship malfunction at a time like this? Count, would you care to explain?”
His own daughter was attacked, and now he was the one being questioned.
Count Durand was irritated, but he couldn’t refute it since there weren’t just members of his family on board, but also the nobles of Beijing.
He turned to his subordinate and ordered, “What are you waiting for? Go get the helmsman.”
“There’s no need, I’ve already brought him.”
Han Yue appeared, dragging a man along.
Everyone was puzzled. When did he go to capture the guy?
Han Yue threw the man on the ground and said coldly, “Tell everyone why the ship malfunctioned, tell the truth, or I will feed you to the sharks.”
The man’s face displayed panic, the corner of his mouth was slightly bruised.
He quickly glanced at Lola, then stammered, “It was the princess’s order; I had no other choice. It’s not my fault.”
He had a family to care for. How could he resist the commands of a princess? He had been forced into following her orders.
Everyone’s face filled with shock as their gazes all shifted to Lola.
The contemptuous and disgusted looks hit Lola so hard.
She jumped up abruptly and kicked that man out of her way.
“You are talking nonsense, you lowly commoner dares to frame me.”
Out of respect for her status as a princess, the man did not retaliate and was kicked several times.
Count Durand watched his crazed daughter and forcefully pulled her away.
“Lola, have you not gone mad enough?!”
He reprimanded her in fluent French, his eyes filled with disappointment.
His daughter has always been his pride, how did she turn out to be this shrewish? It was utterly disappointing.
Lola was stunned by his chastisement and tears welled up in her eyes.
“Daddy, you don’t believe me either?”
No matter what, she could not admit to this. If she did, she would be done for.
She had assumed that everyone would see Jian Qing’s disgraceful behaviour after she had been drugged, and if the ship were unable to dock at this time, there would be nowhere for her to escape.
But despite her careful planning, she had not anticipated that she too would be drugged.
At this point, there was no way she could admit what she had done.
Count Durand let go of her. He wanted to believe her; however, now the evidence was all in front of him, how could he still believe her?
Did she really think everyone here was a fool?
If today’s events were not resolved, the Durand family would lose their foothold in China and even their industries in F Country would be affected.
Did she not understand the gravity of this situation?
Mo Xiao grabbed the man and asked coldly, “How long will it take to repair the ship?”
“A, about a few hours.” Overwhelmed by Mo Xiao’s chilly demeanor, he stammered.
Upon hearing this, Mo Xiao released him and turned towards Jian Qing.
At this point, Jian Qing was nestled in Quan Jingwu’s arms with her back towards everyone else.
Only she knew that she was barely holding on.
“Xiaojing!”
Her hands clung to his clothes, her voice barely a whisper.
Jingwu’s eyes reflected her flushed face, he opened his coat to shield her.
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here,” he said.
He looked up, his cold eyes filled with the calmness before a storm. “Axuan, Ayue.”
With one look, they understood.
The two followed him into the ship, Mo Xiao also followed.
The ship had two decks, Jingwu carried Jian Qing upstairs and casually entered a room.
By the time Mo Xiao caught up, the door had already been shut.
Quan Mingxuan and Han Yue stood not far from the door, Han Yue was on the phone.
“Uncle An, you can’t go in.”
Quan Mingxuan stopped Mo Xiao. Anyone could guess what was happening inside at this point. If he let him in, Jingwu would probably take his and Yue’s heads.
Mo Xiao stopped, anxiety written all over his face.
“Qingqing, she…”
Quan Mingxuan, “Uncle An, right now, only Jingwu can help Jian Qing. We’d better not disturb. Instead, you could use this time to settle the score with the Durand family. After all, all of this was caused by Lola.”
He knew Mo Xiao needed an outlet for his anger, so he sacrificed Lola. After all, she was the one who caused all this.
Mo Xiao glanced at the closed door and then turned to head downstairs.
After he left, Quan Mingxuan breathed a sigh of relief; Han Yue had finished his call and came over.
“How is it?”
“Shen Hao will come over with some people soon.”
“That’s good.”
Mingxuan heaved a sign of relief and was about to find a place to rest when he spotted an unwelcome guest.
“Chu Yihen, what are you doing here?”
Chu Yihen looked past them, to the closed door. no𝚟𝚙u𝚋.c𝚘m
Without asking, he knew what was happening inside.
The mere thought made him green with envy.
Han Yue crossed his arms and sneered at him, “Chu Yihen, as a man, it’s better to back off. They love each other. There’s no need for you, young master Chu, to demean yourself and meddle, right?”
Chu Yihen sneered in return, “Love is a personal matter. Han Yue, you’re not involved, so how could you understand my feelings? Besides, if their love is so fragile that I can step in successfully, that only proves I am the one truly suited for Jian Qing, doesn’t it?”
