Chapter 416: 402, Raising Bai Jue (2)_1

“I’m fine, as long as there’s something to eat.” Xiya said, her arm around her waist, she cautiously sat down on the couch.

Jian Qing picked up her cellphone to make a call, glancing at Xiya, who was behaving unusually careful. It made her chuckle.

For some time now, she’s been rather elegant.

Having ordered food, Jian Qing put down her phone.

“Want some milk first?”

“Yes, thanks darling, I just knew you treat me the best.” Xiya responded sweetly.

Shaking her head, amused but resigned, Jian Qing mixed up a glass of milk for her.

“Here you go.”

Xiya carefully took the milk, and Jian Qing sat down next to her.

“Okay, so can you tell me now what’s going on with you?”

Xiya sipped her milk and replied carelessly, “Isn’t it obvious? Can’t you see I have the potential to be a hot mom?”

“Less talk, more explaining.” Jian Qing responded.

Gulping down the milk in front of her, Xiya placed the cup back on the table, “Well, actually, it’s quite a touching story.”

Jian Qing rubbed her temples, anticipating the story from Xiya becoming more ridiculous by the second.

“When I was enjoying my retirement in Switzerland, I met a super cute soldier. We fell in love at first sight, second meeting had us head over heels and by the third, we were ready to spend the rest of our lives together. Then one thing led to another, we made love, and that’s how we created our little angel. And well, here I am.” Xiya told her story exuberantly.

Jian Qing scoffed, “And where’s this Mr. Soldier of yours now?”

Making up stories, let’s see how far she can go with this.

Xiya put on a sad face, “Who knows? All good things come to an end. My soldier heroically sacrificed his life on a mission. His graveyard grass has outgrown me.”

“Do you find it fun to be so sarcastic?” Jian Qing asked.

Is it really okay to curse the father of her baby like this?

She shrugged sayingly, “I am being serious, look, these two tears.”

“Okay, can you stop using tears as a ruse?” Jian Qing gave her a sarcastic look.

“…” Xiya said, speechless.

Friendships, fragile as they are, can capsize in an instant.

“So, how many months is it?” Jian Qing asked, looking at her belly, her eyes revealing a slight curiosity.

Xiya absently stroked her belly, her emerald eyes glinted with maternal radiance, “Around five months.”

“Is it his?” Jian Qing withdrew her gaze and looked at her.

She didn’t specify who “he” was, but it was implied.

“No.” Xiya said simply, shaking her head, “It’s mine.”

Jian Qing’s eyes flickered understandingly, so that was an implicit admission.

“So it was because of this you’ve been quietly pregnant in Switzerland?”

Xiya replied, “My little princess was quite a handful. Didn’t you notice I’ve lost weight? I spent the first three months practically hugging the toilet bowl, I puked my guts out.”

Fortunately, her little princess seems to have found her conscience in the past two months, and stopped tormenting her beloved mommy.

Jian Qing nodded in agreement, noticing her sharper chin.

“But how do you know that the baby is a little princess? Did you consult with a doctor?”

From the get-go, Xiya has been calling the baby a ‘little princess’, could it really be a girl?

Xiya shook her head, “I didn’t, but I believe that it must be a little princess.”

Jian Qing looked stunned.

Where does this woman get her confidence from?

“What if it’s a boy?”

Xiya’s face showed a trace of unmistakable distaste, “Then I’ll dump him with Bai Jue.”

Isn’t Bai Jue a sworn bachelor?

So what if she was at a bit loss, might as well let Bai Jue look after the kid for a while.

“Aren’t you afraid that Bai Jue will take your son along to a bar or nightclub?” Jian Qing asked, giving her a silent look.

Upon hearing this, Xiya couldn’t help but envision a scene of Bai Jue carrying her baby to flirt with girls at bars.

Well, that image was kind of appalling.

“Let’s forget about him then.” She instantly vetoed Bai Jue, her eyes shifting as two other potential candidates popped into her mind.

“Oh, speaking of which, we also have . . .”

Jian Qing immediately interrupted her mid-sentence, guessing what Xiya was about to say, “Drop that thought. If you dare to hand your baby over to Black Jack and Luoluo, I guarantee Black Jack will throw your kid to the one person you least want to see right now.”

Black Jack simply detested sharing his time with Luoluo. Adding another disturbance to the mix? Not a chance.

Xiya pouted, but then seemed to remember something.

She gave Jian Qing a flattering smile, “Then what about you, darling?”

Jian Qing’s corner of her eyes twitched, “If you don’t mind your baby being raised by the Wolf King, then I might just consider it.”

Xiya caught sight of the Wolf King lying on the carpet, and immediately chickened out.

She eventually decided to raise the baby herself.

Jian Qing shifted the conversation back to the topic at hand, “What are your plans for the future?”

Xiya gave a careless laughter, “I’ve got it all planned out. After my little princess is born, I will take her around the world with me. We’ll hit the high seas and sky high, meet handsome men if possible.”

As the old saying goes, chase the man as soon as they’re out of their cradle.

A smile played at the corner of Jian Qing’s mouth, “Frankly, if not for the fact that you’re pregnant, I would’ve beaten you up.”

“Looks like my little princess is my savior.” Xiya responded.

“What exactly happened between you and Khan?” Jian Qing asked softly, “Khan rang me a couple of times asking about you.”

“What did you say?” Xiya quickly perked up.

“How many times have you nagged me about it? There’s no way I’d help him track you down.”

“That’s good.”

“Did you two have a fight?”

Smiling waned on Xiay’s face, “No, just realized we weren’t meant to be, so we decided to split.”

“Don’t try and fool me; everything was fine before, right?” Jian Qing probed.

“Nothing much, his ex-girlfriend returned and showed up in his life. Thats when I figured out we were better off as friends. So that’s that.” Xiay explained calmly.

Jian Qing suddenly realized where things have gone wrong.

“What did his ex-girlfriend say to you?”

On hearing that, Xiya realized she had said too much, “Nothing. I am Xiya, who dares to mess with me?”

Seeing that she did not want to continue talking about Khan, Jian Qing didn’t press on.

She patted Xiya’s shoulder and said, “For your little princess’s sake, I’ll let you hug me.”

Xiya laughed, theatrically pretending to wipe a tear from her eye, “Getting a hug from you is really not easy!”

With that, she leaned in to give Jian Qing a big, affectionate hug.

A warm smile formed on Jian Qing’s lips. She gently patted Xiya’s back, “You should stay here.”

Being in this place, she could still look after her, knowing her fear of loneliness and solitude.

“Not afraid I’ll be the third wheel?” Xiya teased.

“That’s alright, you can stay here and I’ll move to Xiaojing’s. After all, we’re both in Shijin Haoting.” Jian Qing replied.

Xiya clicked her tongue in mock-disapproval, “Heartless woman, planning to dump me again!”
