Chapter 419: 405. Am I Your Idol? (2)_1

Wasn’t that Zeng Hang just now? Pan Yan actually dared to challenge him and find a lawyer to sue him. Did she forget her brain at home today?

There are few in the legal field who wouldn’t tremble at the mention of Zeng Hang. Knowing they would be fighting him in court, I bet no one would dare take Pan Yan’s case.

Hen Lian shook his head, “It all comes down to the evidence. As long as we maintain strict impartiality, there is no need for speculation.”

Zhao Bing nodded and went back to his desk.

After leaving the police station, Yi Kai was in charge of driving.

In the car, Zeng Hang held a cigarette between his fingers, took a puff, and blew out a ring of smoke, “It seems that Lu Ming is just a frontman this time, becoming a scapegoat.”

Yi Kai chuckled, “I’ve already sent a message to Shen Hao to investigate the approval process. By tomorrow morning, we should have a result.”

Once the approval process was in their hands, everything else would fall into place.

“That’s good. It seems that we need to prepare a plan to acquire Lu Group in the next few days.” Zeng Hang extinguished his cigarette, speaking casually.

A similar smile appeared on Yi Kai’s face, “Time to ask the boss for a raise.”

Laughter drifted out the car window, dissipating in the cold wind.

The evening sky darkened.

Having taken a nap, Xiya felt considerably refreshed.

The heating was on in the living room, so she and Jian Qing were only dressed in a sweater.

“I’m done playing, it’s demotivating when I keep losing.” Xiya turned off the game at the sight of her characters about to be defeated on the screen.

Jian Qing raised an eyebrow, looking at her stomach, “It’s not a good habit to be a sore loser. Don’t let it rub off on your little princess.”

“My little princess is going to be just like me.” Xiya lifted her head, face brimming with arrogance.

Jian Qing rolled her eyes, then looked at the clock on the wall.

“What, missing your man?” Xiya peered at her with a mischievous smile.

“Do you not want to eat tonight?”

Xiya put on a pitiful face, “Can you bear to starve my little princess?”

The sound of the door opening was heard.

Jian Qing put on her slippers, lightly stepping towards the entrance.

Watching her back, Xiya mumbled under her breath, even a queen has her weak moments!

Pushing open the door, a charmingly handsome face greeted her.

She flashed him a light smile, “Did you work late today?”

Quan Jingwu’s thin lips curled up as he pulled her into his arms.

“Missed me, hm?”

His deep voice, rising slightly at the end, held an enticing charm.

Jian Qing shrugged, “Not at all.”

“Lying deserves punishment, you know.”

With that, he leaned down to kiss her rosy lips.

“Mmm-”

Jian Qing’s eyes widened. Remembering that Xiya was in the living room, she hurriedly pushed him away.

“There’s someone else here.”

She reminded him in a whisper.

The light in Quan Jingwu’s eyes darkened briefly. Reluctantly, he gave her one last peck before releasing her.

“We’ll continue tonight.”

Jian Qing punched his chest playfully, “What are you thinking?”

After changing his shoes, they entered the living room to face Xiya’s teasing gaze.

“You two can keep at it, I didn’t see a thing.”

Saying so, she looked up at the ceiling, a smile tugging at her lips.

“This is a beautiful light you have here. I need to study it. You two can continue, don’t mind me.”

Jian Qing, “….”

She is really asking for it.

“Xiaojing, this is Xiya.”

“Hey, Jian Qing’s heartthrob. I’m Xiya, Jian Qing’s best friend and confidante.” Xiya waved to Xiaojing, smiling brightly.

Quan Jingwu’s eyes narrowed. Looking at the woman next to him, he asked, “I’m your heartthrob?”

“….”

Jian Qing stiffened, the corners of her mouth trembling.

“Hahaha!” Xiya burst into laughter.

Receiving a death glare from Jian Qing, she hurriedly covered her mouth.

I was wrong, you two carry on.

“Dear, am I your heartthrob?”

His arm was around her, a sly smirk danced in his eyes.

Jian Qing looked up at him and said earnestly, “She’s been saying irrational things ever since she got pregnant. Don’t take it to heart.”

“Really?” His thin lips twitched, and he moved closer to her.

Their intimate moment was absorbed by Xiya, making her feel like she’d been force-fed a love story.

“It’s late now, time for dinner.”

Jian Qing coughed lightly, changing the subject.

“What do you want to eat?” He asked.

“Hot pot.” Jian Qing’s eyes twinkled as she looked at him.

“Great, great.” Xiya jumped in, nodding vigorously.

The next second, Jian Qing dashed her hopes, “You’re not included.”

“Why?” Xiya’s face fell.

She protested, she wanted hot pot too.

“You’re pregnant, you can’t eat it.” Jian Qing said.

“Then what do I eat?”

“I’ve arranged for Qianshi Restaurant to send you something separately.”

Xiya’s shoulders slumped. This was no fun.

Once that was taken care of, Jian Qing turned to look at Quan Jingwu, tugging at his sleeve, “Can we have hot pot?”

“Just for today. No more for this week.” He said.

Upon hearing him, Jian Qing’s lips curled up, “Then you go change, I’ll make the reservation.”

“Mmm.”

Quan Jingwu released her and headed upstairs.

Watching his back disappear up the stairs, Xiya moved closer to Jian Qing.

“Darling, can I ask something?”

Jian Qing was choosing tonight’s menu. Without looking up, she said, “Cut the gossip.”

It had to be said, she knew Xiya quite well.

“You guys are living together… how far have you gotten?” Xiya looked at her with a gossiping look on her face, asking the question.

Jian Qing glanced at her, then spat out in reply, “R-rated, are you satisfied now?”

“Oh―”

Xiya laughed knowingly.

“Looks like you’re not far from being a hot mom.”

Jian Qing didn’t acknowledge her, merely dialing to order food.

Shortly after, the table was split in two.

Xiya stared at the hot pot on the opposite side of the table, her mouth watering uncontrollably.

Looking down at the three dishes and one soup on her side of the table, she immediately lost her appetite.

“Darling, how could you be so cruel?”

She prodded idly at the rice in her bowl, giving Jian Qing an aggrieved look.

Jian Qing ignored her, continuing to calmly enjoy the hot pot.

“I’m doing this for your benefit.”

Xiya hung her head, listlessly eating her food, feeling as if her world had been plunged into darkness.

After dinner, Jian Qing took Xiya for a walk to help with digestion.

Returning home, Xiya went to rest in her room. Ever since she got pregnant, she’d been sleeping a lot.

Jian Qing returned to her bedroom after a shower, only to find that a certain someone hadn’t returned to the room yet.

Grabbing a towel, she casually dried her hair, put on her slippers and walked out.

The study room door was ajar. As she approached, she heard a deep male voice.

She quietly opened the door and saw Quan Jingwu sitting at his desk, on the phone.

Seeing her, he beckoned her over.

“OK, we’ll discuss it at the office tomorrow.”

He threw his phone on the table after hanging up.

“Why isn’t your hair dry?”

He reached out and pulled her into his lap.

Finding a comfortable spot on his lap, Jian Qing nestled in comfortably.
