Chapter 439: 425, Grandpa Jing Acts Pitiful (1)_1

She shielded Xiya behind her and gripped Yang Xiang’s wrist tightly.

“Yang Xiang, are you sure you want to fight me?”

The casual sentence froze Yang Xiang.

Looking into Jian Qing’s dark gaze, the coldness in her eyes inexplicably scared her.

“Honestly, you’re not as smart as your sister.” Jian Qing casually stated, letting go of her hand.

Although Yang Lin resented her, she rarely confronted her face-to-face. In contrast, Yang Xiang, irredeemably foolish, insisted on stirring up trouble.

Yang Xiang’s face turned black, glaring at her angrily.

Before she could react, Jian Qing pulled Xiya. “Xiya, let’s go in. Looking at flies for too long can ruin your appetite.”

Xiya turned to smile at Yang Xiang, “Goodbye, Miss Fly.”

Yang Xiang clenched her fists, watching the private room door close. She stomped her foot in frustration.

Damned Jian Qing!

She returned to her private room, her high heels clicking angrily against the floor.

“Why did you take so long?” Hearing that Yang Xiang had returned, the man in the room asked without lifting his head.

Yang Xiang plopped down beside him, irritably said, “I just ran into two annoying people outside.”

The man just grunted, his attention still fixed on his phone.

Already pissed off, she was further infuriated by his indifference. She snatched his phone away and slammed it on the table.

“Are you even listening to me? I was slapped, and you don’t even care. Do you really love me at all?”

The man looked up, noticing her slightly red cheek and was taken aback.

“Xiangxiang, your face?”

Yang Xiang covered her face, tears streaming down instantly. As an actress, she knew exactly how to make a man sympathetic.

“I got slapped, and you’re still glued to your phone. Zhou Yi, you don’t genuinely care about me. I’m breaking up with you.”

Although she said this, the idea of breaking up with Zhou Yi hadn’t even crossed her mind. After all, the Zhou family was more affluent than the Yang family. While her father hinted at a marriage alliance, she genuinely liked him.

Yang Xiang was sporting light makeup, and her cheeks, reddened from the slap, made her seem woefully adorable and easily stirred a man’s protective instincts.

Zhou Yi took her into his arms, gently caressing her reddened cheek. “It’s my fault, Xiangxiang. Who slapped you?”

He wasn’t impulsive enough to burst out with “I’ll avenge you.” After all, anyone who dared to hit Yang Xiang must be of significant status. He wouldn’t stupidly rush into it, risking getting caught up in the mess.

“Who else can it be but Jian Qing and her friend? That rude friend of hers even dared to hit me. It’s insufferable.” Yang Xiang nestled into his arms, a vicious glint flashing in her eyes.

“Jian Qing?” Zhou Yi frowned. The name was familiar; everyone in Beijing knew that Jian Qing was Jingwu’s girlfriend.

At that moment, he was grateful he hadn’t made any rash promises. He wasn’t stupid enough to offend Quan Jingwu for a woman.

“What, you’re not speaking. Are you also attracted to Jian Qing’s seductive face?” Yang Xiang pulled away from him, throwing him a displeased look.

Zhou Yi smirked, “Of course not. In my heart, you are the most beautiful.”

Women can never tire of sweet words.

Yang Xiang snorted, “Smooth talker.”

Zhou Yi’s hand slipped into her camisole, a dark glint in his eyes. “I’m speaking the truth. You, little seductress, have me tightly bound.”

“What are you doing?” Yang Xiang leaned against him, her voice softening.

“Little seductress, what do you think?” Zhou Yi lifted her onto his lap and roughly pulled down her camisole.

“We’re still outside.” Yang Xiang said shyly but did nothing to stop him.

Zhou Yi’s hands moved swiftly to the back of her dress, pulling down her zipper and kissing her.

“Yi!” Yang Xiang pretended to push him away, a blush creeping up her face as she clasped her arms around his neck,

Soon, suggestive sounds filled the private room.

“Darling, who was that person from earlier?” Xiya asked while eating, “She doesn’t seem friendly.”

“Didn’t you already call her a fly?” replied Jian Qing.

Xiya burst out laughing, “That’s right, a very annoying fly.”

Jian Qing didn’t say anything but merely smiled.

“By the way, is it a wonder your man hasn’t called you yet?” jested Xiya.

“Did you have a fight last night?”

At that moment, the phone on the table vibrated.

Jian Qing picked up the phone, smiling, “Speak of the devil.”

“Flaunting your relationship again.” Xiya commented.

Jian Qing took the call, and a deep voice came through, “Where are you?”

“Having lunch with Xiya, have you eaten yet?” she replied.

“Not yet, want to deliver my meal?” Quan Jingwu asked.

“Then starve.” Jian Qing laughed.

He chuckled, his voice dropping, “Honey, if your man starves, don’t expect any happiness tonight.”

The word “happiness” was emphasised.

Jian Qing’s lower back ached vaguely.

She laughed, “Going hungry for one meal won’t cut it. It would be more effective if you starved for a few days.”

“Honey, Shen Hao and his group ordered lunch without me.” he said casually, “So if you don’t bring me food, I’ll have to starve this afternoon.”

[In an office far away, Shen Hao and others banged their heads against a wall in frustration. “Boss, it was you who didn’t want to eat. How can you blame us like this? Don’t you have a conscience?”]

“Is that so? Seems like I need to give Shen Hao and the others a raise.” Jian Qing chuckled.

The company had a cafeteria, in addition to take-out options. He wasn’t going to fool her.

“Nevermind, I’ll endure the hunger for today and eat when I get home tonight,” he said.

“I don’t want to hear you whining, bye.”

As she finished speaking, Jian Qing hung up the phone.

If she continued listening, she might hear something inappropriate for children.

His schemes were too deep; she admits she’s a sucker.

“You just hung up on your man, aren’t you afraid he’ll come storming in?” Xiya giggled.

“Eat your food.” Jian Qing put her phone down, speaking irritably.

Xiya: “Buzzkill.”

Once the two finished their meal, they paid the check and left.

After dropping off Xiya, Jian Qing drove to JK International.

Just before she left, she was teased relentlessly by Xiya.

“Madam, what brings you here?”

Yi Kai exited the tea room just as Jian Qing emerged from the elevator.

Seeing the coffee in his hands, she asked, “Has Xiaojing eaten yet?” 𝖓𝖔𝖛𝔭𝖚𝖇.𝔠𝖔𝔪

“The Boss hasn’t eaten yet; he’s been in his office all afternoon,” replied Yi Kai.

Upon hearing this, Jian Qing frowned.

This man was truly stubborn.

When he said he wouldn’t eat, he meant it.

“You can get back to work.”

After saying this, she made her way to the office.
