Chapter 462: 448, Starting From Jian Luo (3) _1
Qiong An gave a bitter smile and nodded, “Okay.”
Was it too much to hope for his happiness?
“You get some rest, and send the address to my phone.” Black Jack got up, eager to settle the situation as soon as possible.
Qiong An didn’t try to keep him any longer, “Okay, I understand.”
After Black Jack left, a middle-aged woman walked into the room.
She poured a cup of water and handed it to Qiong An.
“Madam, why are you doing this?”
This was only going to drive young master Black Jack further away.
“Ena, you know me, don’t you?” Qiong An sighed, her blue eyes, similar to Black Jack’s, filled with sadness.
“You should know that I don’t care about his background. But Black Jack is in love with a man. He is my only son. How can you expect me to accept that? What will become of the Sophallo Family?”
Ena suggested, “However, Madam, it seems Black Jack is not going to change his mind. Why not try persuading young master Jian Luo? He’s a good child, and he respects you, Madam. Maybe if you coax him, he might let go of his feelings for young master Black Jack.”
Qiong An shook her head, “It’s precisely because Jian Luo is a good boy that I don’t wish to force him. I’ve seen him grow up, and if I try to make him give up Black Jack, Black Jack will never forgive me. That’s not something I want to see.”
She knew that if she tried to persuade Jian Luo to give up Black Jack, she would likely be successful. But she couldn’t do that. She knew that the place Jian Luo held in Black Jack’s heart could not be replaced by anyone else. She didn’t dare to think what Black Jack would become without Jian Luo.
“But even if young master Black Jack meets Miss Lis, it won’t change anything.” Ena remarked.
“Lis’s mother is my confidante. For her sake, I’ve done what I could. If Lis can’t win over Black Jack’s heart, well, it was simply not meant to be.” Having said too much, Qiong An couldn’t help coughing.
“Madam, you should rest a bit.” Ena helped her lie down.
Qiong An uttered, “Send the address to Black Jack.”
“I understand.” Ena pulled up the cover and draped it over her.
As he left the hotel, Black Jack sat in the car, his handsome face frozen over.
He balled his hand into a fist and hit the steering wheel hard, his lips pressed into a thin line.
After a while, he took out his phone and dialed a number for Bai Jue.
The call got through after just a few rings.
“Bai Jue, where is Luo Xiaobai?”
All of a sudden, cheering could be heard from the other end of the line. Black Jack frowned.
“Where are you now?”
On the other end, Bai Jue, looking at the speeding cars on the racetrack, responded helplessly, “At the racetrack. Blame you for making that unnecessary bet. Look at the mess now, someone’s mood is particularly sour. Are you satisfied now?”
Black Jack asked, “He’s racing?”
“If we came to the racetrack and he is not there racing, what else could he be doing?” Bai Jue watched the speeding cars on the track, his mouth twitching a little.
Should he tell him that the person he cared about was driving almost as fast as a rocket?
“Did Jian Qing try to stop him?”
“If Jian Qing had stopped us, would we be at the racetrack now?” Bai Jue responded.
“Just watch him, don’t join in his tantrum.”
“Why don’t you come and watch him yourself?”
Black Jack paused before speaking, “My mom has come to M Country.”
“What?” Bai Jue was taken aback.
He was well aware of Black Jack’s mother’s health condition. A long journey wasn’t possibly suitable for her. So, how did she end up in M Country?
No wonder Black Jack left the Manor in such a rush after receiving a phone call. It turned out that his mother had arrived.
“Why did your mom suddenly come here? Is it related to Jian Luo?” he asked pointedly.
Black Jack responded with a non-committal grunt, “Can you keep an eye on him for me? I’ll be back tonight.”
“Alright, you take care of yourself first.” Bai Jue responded.
After hanging up the phone, Black Jack checked the message from Ena.
Looking at the message that popped up, a cold chill ran down his spine.
He tossed his phone away, started the car and drove off.
“What a mess,” Bai Jue muttered under his breath, as he put his phone back in his pocket. Looking up, he noticed that the second round of the race had already begun.
He plunked down under the shade of the umbrella, resting his chin on his hand as he watched the white sports car on the track.
After a few rounds, Jian Luo had vented enough to get rid of his frustrations.
He left the racetrack and headed over to Bai Jue.
“Bai Jue, why aren’t you racing?”
Bai Jue forced a smile, “I’m just not in the mood.”
Jian Luo laughed lightly, and just as he was about to sit down next to him, he suddenly felt dizzy.
He raised a hand to rub his forehead, shaking his head hard.
Seeing that something was off, Bai Jue quickly got up to support him.
“Jian Luo, what’s wrong?”
“I’m fine.” Jian Luo patted his head and replied.
“Are you feeling sick somewhere?” Bai Jue asked, a rare seriousness on his face.
Jian Luo waved his hand, “I didn’t sleep last night, I’m probably just tired, and a little hypoglycemic.”
“…”
Bai Jue was on the verge of kneeling before him.
What the hell, going racing after staying up all night with hypoglycemia?
He helped him sit down, grumbling, “Did you go out robbing people last night? If you couldn’t sleep, why would you stay up all night?”
“I couldn’t sleep, so I just played some video games.” Jian Luo half-closed his eyes, mumbling in response.
“Serves you right for fainting!” Bai Jue knocked him on the head, “Do you want me to buy you some sugar?”
Jian Luo requested, “Can you get me my jacket?”
“Make yourself comfortable, ‘daddy’.” Despite his sarcastic comment, Bai Jue got up to fetch his jacket.
“Here.”
Jian Luo reached out to take it and pulled a few pieces of chocolate out of the pocket. He unwrapped one and popped it into his mouth.
Bai Jue had long gotten used to his habit of carrying chocolate around since childhood, and it was always Black Jack who somehow managed to supply it.
“Did Black Jack buy this for you?” he asked on purpose.
Jian Luo didn’t respond, simply continuing to munch on his chocolate.
“You two, what a couple, arguing over nothing.” Bai Jue chided like a father.
Jian Luo remained silent.
“Black Jack called just now. I told him we’re at the racetrack. He asked me to keep an eye on you. He’s always concerned about you, don’t be mad at him anymore.”
After a while, Jian Luo looked down and mumbled, “I don’t need his concern.”
Bai Jue, the cunning old fox, quickly caught on to the change in Jian Luo’s emotional state. The corners of his mouth turned up as he agreed, “Yes, yes, you don’t need his concern, but he needs yours, right?”
Jian Luo snorted in response.
“Let’s go.” Bai Jue stretched lazily and stood up.
“Go where?”
Bai Jue glanced at him, “You two had a fight today, and I didn’t even get to eat breakfast. I was dragged out by you. Now, young master me will go and treat my stomach well.”
“You’re paying, I didn’t bring any money.” Jian Luo unwrapped another piece of chocolate and said matter-of-factly.
“…”
Bai Jue looked at him with disdain.
He had kept him company, played with him, and now he had to treat him to a meal. He was practically becoming a ‘three prepares’ friend.
